Hertz Norwalk (CT) is always reliable
Pros: The manager here is particularly good, always provides me with a reliable car, ready to go when I arrive for pick-up. Fast & easy. And they extended my rental period last-minute without any hassle, just a quick phone call.
Cons: This is the first time they forgot to pick me up. The guy who arranged it was off work on the pick-up day, start of rental period, and apparently forgot to inform coworkers. They rectified it quickly, however.
Good service, but summer rates are ridiculous
Pros: Service, including picking me up to get to Hertz office. The staff here are always very good.
Cons: Summer rates are much more expensive. This office is not accepting Hertz rewards points I've earned for free weekend rental right now. And the rates from the Norwalk office are so much more expensive than from their Stamford office - I don't get why there's such a huge difference between 2 nearby offices, and cannot account for it by state taxes.
Used this office several times now, and they are always good. Reliable
Pros: All fine.
Cons: No problems at all.
Pros: I liked the price of the rental.
Cons: I didn't like the outside of the car because it was dirty.
This Hertz office (Norwalk, CT) always gives me great service
Pros: They pick me up & bring me back upon returning the rental, and this is a tremendous boon to me. Especially since I've rented from this office several times now, staff is particularly friendly - but just as helpful & efficient as the first time I used them. No hesitation in giving Hertz, especially their Norwalk, CT office, top recommendation.
Cons: They didn't have the small economy car I ordered on hand, and so they gave me free upgrade to a large SUV (same price). I just don't like trying to drive big vehicles - not used to it. Nothing wrong with the car whatsoever, it's just that I'm more accustomed & prefer driving a smaller car, even small SUV.
People in this office are generally efficient
Pros: They're pretty efficient. Car was ready on time, paperwork ready, etc. And they drove me home promptly when I dropped off the car.
Cons: Tiny car (Ford Focus) but designed by tall person. Had to use my dining chair cushions on the seat to see over the steering wheel, when I'm about average height, not really short. That's a problem with Ford, but still, I would never consider buying such a car. One reason for renting a smaller car is to see better! Also, it's a good thing they did not charge for mileage since they were off by nearly 600 miles. I failed to check mileage on the contract, and won't make that mistake again!
They need to give proper info BEFORE you book!
Pros: They picked me up at my home & dropped me back off there when I returned the car. Thank goodness for that! Otherwise, no real problems with this agency, despite the lack of relevant info when booking.
Cons: This particular car (Hyundai) has a very low seat, and not much visibility out the rear window. I would never buy this car myself. There's also a lot of info they fail to provide when booking: amount of deposit; no debit cards accepted, only credit cards. Luckily, these did not affect me, but they could be serious concerns for many customers. No way to extend rental period at same rate - they charge nearly 4 times as much! So I did not extend the rental period.
