There was no car available upon arrival despite a reservation far in advance. One was procured after a long wait of over an hour. The provided vehicle was dirty and smelled bad. The safety features were also giving error messages. Cruise control and front and rear collision sensors were not working. The return process involved poor signage and unfriendly employees and was also slow.Reviewed Jun 19 2025

At both my Pensacola pick up &my Atlanta dropp off, the staff were fantastic & the wait was very short. However, I had chosen intermediate SUV and I got a small compact one that was harder to get in & out of than expected. I was coming to town to meet up with my husband and I wish there had been an option online I could've used to add him as an extra driver at the time of reservation, because we then had to find a Hertz location along our route in order to add him as a driver in person. We were also disappointed at the cost of adding an extra driver. Wish the staff had been more knowledgeable about toll roads on my explained route, as I ended up paying a much higher rate using your daily 13.99 toll coverage fee than if I had paid tolls individually. Being from out of state, I didn't know which highways were tollroads or not and I could have saved a lot of money, just paying them as they came up, probably over $70 at my estimation! I would definitely use Hertz again now that I have experience with some of these additional costs and what questions to ask up front.Reviewed May 14 2025

Everything was wonderful. I did expect to receive a Tesla both based on when I booked it and the additional emails that came to me related to what I needed to do for the Tesla so that was a little disappointing as I was really looking forward to a Tesla, but loved the Jeep also. Not being able to pick up my car at the airport was an inconvenience. Having to get an Uber there and dropping my car back off there and having to Uber to the airport again a big inconvenience! The vehicle and hertz staff were all good. The location to pick up was terrible. There was no way to get there from the airport without a taxi service which costs an additional 50 dollars. The hertz vehicle rental in the airport was totally unwilling to assist and basically said tough luck, get a cab! I will never go this route again and go through a different service altogether to find my rentals. This was not explained well enough if at all that I can recall.Reviewed Jun 22 2022

I somehow accidentally selected an off- airport location and neither the desk at the airport, nor the off premise site were any help in trying to correct the situation. Because I had prepaid, all they did was apologize and send me on my way. The airport was 4 miles away, and they told me it would be an extra $150 if I wanted to drop it off there instead. This resulted in a lot of trouble with an early morning departure and a lot of extra money with 2 extra taxi rides. HORRIBLE customer service.
