I rented a car, prepaid and made the check in, all ready for just pick up and go, but when I arrived to the office, they told me that I had my license banned/blocked for a non-payment in a past claim damage, when supposedly was paid for my insurance company. I was hurry for get the car, so I didn't have time for ask to my insurance company what happened. It took me a couple hours even pay, because nobody knows why I was banned.Reviewed Oct 29 2022

It was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a car rental company. We arrived at Salt Lake City Airport on 12-29-21. There was a large group of six so I had prepaid for a minivan a few weeks prior to be sure I would have a vehicle. When I got there I got a call from Jason at the Salt Lake City office who informed me that the minivans they had were still all out from previous renters. I had to cancel that rental and book 2 smaller vehicles at the airport through Alamo Rental which cost an extra $200 for me. Very dissatisfied with Hertz.Reviewed Jan 3 2022

The car broke in the snow, they were not helpful. I was told I would get a cross-over they did not say it would be extra then they wanted me to pay 500 bucks extra. They offered a free upgrade to a muscle car but it was no different then the first car I had. They were not helpful and very rude.Reviewed Dec 28 2021

Cons:I specifically rented a cargo van because I needed to move furniture. When I arrived to pick up the car, the staff told me they did not have a cargo van available - and the only vehicle they could give me was an old, worn-out minivan. As a result, I was not able to complete the move as planned. Further, the staff was not helpful in any fashion and simply told me there was nothing else they could do - it was a take or leave it situation. They made little effort to address the obvious error that had been made with my reservation.Reviewed Jun 1 2021

Cons:The vehicle I reserved was not available - so I was forced to take another vehicle. The staff was very unapologetic and said the problem occurs - and i had no choice other than to take the car they offered. It was a very disappointing experience.Reviewed May 18 2021
