Pros: Pick up and drop off was simple and efficient, customer service was excellent.
Cons: Three hours from home, the car got a flat tire. Pulled over, and discovered there wasn't a spare tire in the car. Had to wait two hours for a tow truck due to where I was. The tow truck then drove me and the car the rest of the way in. I'm glad that Hertz was able to arrange a tow truck that same day, but I am very concerned that there wasn't a spare tire in the car. Hate to think of what would've happened if I had gotten a flat earlier in my journey, somewhere with no cell phone signal and long distances between towns.

Cons: Charged the wrong amount. charged me more than was agreed

Cons: Did not have a car available at the reserved time. Made vague allusions to "maybe" have one in 2 or 3 hours. Corporate hotline was no better. Offered no compensation or alternatives. Could not refund my money for 10-14 days. Took my business to Enterprise.

Beware of pet policy
Cons: Took my cat on my trip. They told me they have a no pet policy after I returned the car and wanted me to pay extra for clean up. I cleaned the car and they did not charge me extra. They also mentioned they have a no smoking policy. There are no no smoking stickers in the car (I don't smoke, just an observation). I looked through the contract. It does state no smoking but I did not see anything about pets. I normally return a car fairly clean so I probably should have cleaned the cat hair in the car in the first place to be honest.
