Good size television and well situated. The hostal is just a two minute walk from Vista Alegre metro station which is itself just 15 minutes from the centre of Madrid (Gran Via) I often find it refreshing to stay in the suburbs and experience more of the authentic lifestyle outside of the main tourist areas - at least for part of the time. Pick the nearest bar and try your hand at ordering a 'cafe con leche y tostada con tomate' or even 'una caña' or two and see what happens. A good value for money hostal. Recomended.

The late check in was really helpful as we had a late flight. Also, we could store the baggages for a few more hours after check out.

Cons: The only complaint was there was no water in the water dispenser in reception on the Sat night. I had none left and the shops were shut. Very thirsty that night and the next morning until we went out as no tea making facilties either.

There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel, it takes only 15 minutes to the center and it costs 1.5 Euro per person. The bed was very comfortable and the room is very clean. Cons: As soon as we walked in, we could smell that stale smoking smell. I initially thought we must have gotten a smoking room, but no, it just smells like that. We only needed a single bed and they gave us a room with 3 twin beds, my boyfriend and I ended up sleeping separate. The free wifi signal was extremely low that neither one of us could use it in the room. Definitely wasn't a memorable stay.

Cons: Location. It's anybody's fault. I did the reservation here because our tour of 4 days Andalucia finished here. So I thought, we are arriving at 8pm and we leave next day at 10am. So it doesn't matter were we are, because there's no time for sightseeing. That's why we made the reservation. But we had time for sightseeing, everything in Spain is late. So we got a taxi went downtown. At the end it will have been better to stay at hotel Mayorazgo or Emperador were we stayed before.

Pros: Light buffet breakfast. Location was convenient for us as we were near Cuatro Vientos airport. Near an underground station for a 30 minute ride into the centre. Rooms were fine with air conditioning.

Pros: The hostal itself is near a metro station and using the metro you can easily get to all central places in Madrid. The neighbourhood was quiet and there was a very nice local restaurant nearby. Also a bar in the same building that works late.

Cons: There was no support for parking, despite this being in the advertised description. There were very rude and loud people I the other room and I could hear EVERYTHING

Pros: The location was perfect. Near Palacio Vistalegre. The room was cozy. Not too expensive.
Cons: So,when we arrived we've been told that there was no hot water.we drove from Portugal,we're very tired so a hot shower would be nice. They said that they were charging less for that reason. That was thoughtful. The room was not very big. Looked bigger in the pictures. The bathroom was very tiny.I could barely wash my face without bumping my arm in the door.

Pros: The hostal itself is near a metro station and using the metro you can easily get to all central places in Madrid. The neighbourhood was quiet and there was a very nice local restaurant nearby. Also a bar in the same building that works late.
Cons: No window in the room, only one air conditioner. You can imagine the air quality was not the best. The combined bathroom/toilet was very narrow and rather hard to use. The sliding glass door could not be opened from inside.
