Well-located hotel. We had a top floor room that had a balcony that overlooke a monestery with its beautiful ancient tile roofs. No place to set up one, much less two, suitcases.
5 minute walk to Puerto Del Sol (Kilometer 0) and Plaza Mayor in Madrid. Many shops and restaurants nearby. Staff very helpful. A little tough to get to if you are driving your own car. As is often the case in Madrid, it is off a side, side, side street so more conducive to walking than driving in an out. Would have preferred a second bed in the room vs. a rollaway for our adult son, although it worked out okay.
The central location of the hotel near Pl.Mayor, Puerta del Sol
I like its location ,near to metro stations (Callao and Sol) and well deserved . Also, breakfast buffet tasteful and good service . The room was confortable and space of its bathroom nicely shaped . This hotel is quite silence . Staff working at the Front Desk (ridiculous space !) lack of professional skills. Indeed , a no smart people . Also, at the first day of my stay (6 nights) , and in spite of my previous on line booking, they gve me a room without windows in the 1st floor .Smaller and noisy which standart can be compared with a one star in Eurpean hotel.
Staff was very helpful (and most spoke english), quick response to requests (towels, room service), very good location near Callao metro stop Bathroom was cramped, you could smell cigarette smoke when running the ac
Location and access to points of interest.
The location was perfect, the Jr. Suite offered plenty of room, the balcony was quite nice. The majority of the staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was clean. 1 room the A/C and the hair dryer weren't working properly and that was never resolved. The parking was very expensive. Need to vacuum under the beds.
The location is superb! In the city centre, next to the shopping streets, the city discos and with a choice of 3 metro stations. Good value for money too! The breakfast room on the 6th floor has one of the best views of the city. Our room saw the inner court since we had to chose between a double bed or a nice view....but that was ok actually, quiet and neat. The one and only elevator is sometimes too slow but the hotel is a restaured old building with a long history. Absolutely worth the experience!
Breakfast too expensive
Their elevator is so unique! Very clean, amazing location for the money. Staff was really nice and helpful
We stayed at the hotel 4 days and what we liked most was it centric location, within walking distance to everything in old Madrid, and close to bus an metro stops. Plaza San Martin is at the very heart of the city and very close (5 minutes walking) to such city highlights as Plaza mayor, La Opera, Palacio Real, Gran Via, etc. Corte Ingles (the department store) is just around the corner, and also there is parking available (although pricey, $28 euros per 24 hours) just outside the hotel (parking belongs to Corte Ingles). If you have a car, do not park on the city streets as they are "residents only" parking. Breakfast is not included, and if you chose to eat at the hotel, it is pricey. Just walk to any of the coffee shops close to the hotel and have a good continental breakfast at very low price (2-5 euros).
Beautiful hotel, facing nice old square. Check-in took 30 sec. Comfortable and charming: old-fashioned elevator, bell epoque decor... Bathroom big, new and clean. my room on second floor had a vague smoking smell, I had to open a window while out for a dinner
hotel statt , facilities , cleqnliness of hotel and room , situation of hotel hard of Madrid
The location of the hotel was perfect and so was the parking service which is so difficult to find in hotels nearby. The room was really good, really confortable and clean. The staff were very helpful. The beds were too small for a hotel like this and I don't understand how possible it is to have staff in the reception who speak english so so bad!!
location quality dropped a bit compared with my visit 5 year ago
-The location was great -Staff was very helpful -The pool and roof deck were amazing -Hotel was very clean -The wifi was slow and it had a two device limit -The room was somewhat small
Location is perfect. Wi Fi it far too expensive. View.
Only the pool is the only big pool in Gran via sed the is open till 9 pm when summer time in Madrid is light till 11 pm First when I arrive after long fly from New York the told me the room no ready I bin waiting from 9 am till 2:30 pm service sooo slow line for the front desk is over size waiting and the worst the don't speak English well , when I get the room finely it was look sooo different from the pic and so small that I was can move there I sleep I wake up and I cancel all my rest of the stay in this hotel and I go to other hotel horrible experience never recomed this hotel
The roof pool and the central location of the hotel
The hotel's location is a huge asset. It's central location enhances access to the various interests in the city. Room was slightly smaller than expected - but acceptable nontheless.
swimming pool room walls where damaged: visible has had a water leakage on the roof, poor facilities, small room, not enough water pressure in the shower.
Location - excellent size room - TV channels poor - I do not watch TV but others may and would find it dissapointing
loction executive lounge marginal, no wine available
Location, helpfulness from staff, roof pool, fantastic room - two showers!! and great view also
Great location. Large, clean rooms. Daniel, our waiter and new friend, was outstanding in the sidewalk café and bar. Incredibly friendly and entertaining. The rest of the world needs to take a lesson on how to pour a drink. Not much. We did have to pull up on the "sidewalk" road, in front of the hotel, to have them take the car to park. However, this is quite common when staying in the larger cities in Spain.
I researched hotels for days to get the perfect hotel and the Preciados was perfect. The rooms are small but that is true of most hotels in Europe. The staff were great, the room clean, beds comfortable, the minibar was a great value. It's Proximity to the center was perfect for everything. I read the review "the rooms weren't as nice as they looked in the picture", that review made me nervous, but the rooms were nicer than the picture in my opinion. It was quite. I would deinitely stay there again. We went with my 2 older teenagers and my younger daughter. It was perfect... nothing
The hotel was in a walking distance to most major touristy locations. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Although it is an old hotel, and rooms are somewhat small, latest renovations in rooms are impressive. Breakfast was not included, which allowed us to eat in a nice place across the street. It saved us from overeating and overspending:)) but if you don't mind 17 euro for breakfast - food selection there is great. Many Cab drivers in Madrid are not honest. Hotel staff got us an amazing reliable driver, who we used throughout our stay. (Her name is Beatriz. She only speaks Spanish. But she is punctual and honest and very pleasant - ph.662-272-407) . Keep in mind the temperature cannot be controlled from your room (at least in our room we couldn't). Simple call to the front desk, and it was adjusted to our comfort level. Only 2 small suggestions- I wish a gym in the hotel had water and towels. And I wish the hotel used different type of air freshener - automatic sprays, or diffusers. The one they use, that plugs into electric outlet, is doing more harm than good - it produced very unpleasant (for me and my family) smell.
Great location, helpful staff, clean and fresh rooms, brilliant bathroom, free mini-bar, welcoming chocolates and cava and Madrid is a brilliant city. Can we move in for good?
Free Wireless connection, free minibar, clean and well equipped room. Quite location of the room
The staff were all extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming. they really made our trip a pleasure. Small things like extra chocs in the room (unexpected) also made a real difference. Excellent location.
Everything. The hotel was in immaculate condition. Its very central and loved the shutters to keep the city noise out.
Overpriced - offering poor value for money. I wouldn't stay here again. I also booked a Double/Twin room and received a single room.
Staff service I feel that the breakfast buffet was good but understaffed. You would the folks there running around and quarreling with each other due to amount of work and alignment.
Staff very extremely friendly
The staff was very pleasant and accomodated our need for a triple based on a simple e-mail. Although the room had no ash trays, it had cleary been smoked in. The wood floors help with reduction of smoke but the pillows and mattresses retain the odor.
The room and the bathroom are beautiful. It was quite and a nive view from the room 1008. It was nice to have an opportunity to get 1hr spa. I would prefer to have a different shower (not enough pressure).
buffet breakfast was excellent if somewhat expensive the room fridge/minibar was warm not cold(thereby saving me a fortune). There was a dreadful smell of drains outside the breakfast room and throughout the central stairwell every morning.
Location. Beautiful hotel. No bellboy service.
The friendly and competent staff. My stay was excellent.
Central location close to metro, clean, modern, big room and bathroom.
Excellent central location close to numerous metro stations. The hotel itself was very interestingly decorated and funky. Clean, tidy and cool.
location of the hotel
It was very comfortable and was very close to the stations
luxurious, comfortable room & bathroom. perfect location.totally worth! breakfast price was high -15eur
Location was excellent The breakfst was quite expensive for what was offered
I am satisfied with the Hotel. The location is in the centre, free Wi-Fi (I even have it in my room as well not only in public places), friendly staff, good breakfast.
Clean and comfortable hotel, bathrooms have some unique designs which make your stay that bit more interesting. Good loaction for staying in the city.
the excellent location of the hotel in center of city! good breakfast until 11 a.m. unfortunately we didn't sleep 2 nights, very noisy outside until 6 a.m. on thursday! poor isolation of windows and walls, so we could hear when neighbours used toilet and spoke. quite little room for 2 persons and room doesn't correspond with those pictures, that are shown in internet!!! very old-fashioned and has specific smell.
Cleanliness of the room and bathroom, and quality of the rich breakfast Tiny dimensions of the room with double bed not exceeding 1.3 m in width
Great Location! Second time in this hotel and I wouldn't try staying anywhere else.
The staff could not have been more helpful. One of my credit cards was stolen and they really did everything they could to assist. The room was small, even for central Madrid. The cost of the room was high for its size, but it would be unfair to single this hotel out. Comparable hotels at this location are all the same.
delightful art, furnishings and decoration; storage of luggage on final afternoon; jacussi advertised but not yet available; small room
The Restaurant The Mini Bar to be replenished every day
Comfort, central position, friendly staff Extremely noisy, especially at night. Very poor sound proofing - we could hear the man next door snoring!
I can't answer this question correctly as the hotel was under renovation and some of the facilities were not available If the lifts were full or not working properly there were no stairs available to use because of the renovation work
Staff efficient and friendly, Concierge in Level Lounge knowledgeable and helpful, speaks excellent English. We have stayed here before. We did not find anything appealing on the Restaurant's menu..fusion with little Spanish elements. We at tapas in in which has stairs, or nibbled a great assortments with a selection a wines and spirits. I think we shall not return d/ location and restaurant
Very exciting style. Not good enough information in the rooms
The general atmosphere in the hotel beautiful. Cooperation of staff and management of the hotel, a wonderful No
Cleanliness/Comfort of Room and good access to wifi. No tea/coffee making facilies - guide to TV channels.
breakfast was good. the room was very cold(in design). coffee maker didnt work.no english channels apart from cnn and fox news.for a deluxroom itdidnt have a luxurious feel. the upgrade at 80 euro a night on top of 170 per night was definetly not worth it.walls in room were dirty.pool was small, water dirty.
Nice beds. Extra €17 for use of the 10x5m indoor pool and sauna is crazy and bad service for a 5-star hotel.Hotel staff appointed us the a very bad, underclass restaurant.
Room Decor Stinking Lobby and too much construction and construction noise in the hotel lobby and bar
very central location (2 mins walk to the next tube station), huge and varied breakfast buffet, very comfortable beds, reasonably sized rooms (including the bathroom). Although from the outside looking very grey, a huge block of concrete, the inside is very modern and everything seems to have been recently refurbished. Ridiculous having to pay for the spa/wellness area. Even for only printing my boarding pass they wanted me to pay for the internet but in the end I was "allowed" to use a PC in the business area. To my taste the room interior was a bit too modern - certainly something to get used to.
Well located next to El Corte Ingles, for dedicated shoppers Spacious rooms Access to an excellent fitness center located in the hotel building is included in your rate. Extremely overpriced breakfast - you get the same buffet than in any hotel for double the price... In spite of all the comforts, rooms can be a bit noisy due to the heavy traffic just in front of the hotel. It is a 5-star hotel but it lacks charm... I went to this hotel only because the group I was going with did - if I have a choice, I think that there are much better places substantially cheaper.
Price of the breakfast was far to high. Swimming pool to be considered as a children's pont only
location good hotel, but a few overrated (especially for service and equipements).
Location. Breakfast. Helpful, friendly staff. For a supposed 5-star hotel, disappointing. Had to change room after first night due to traffic noice, very poor sound-proofing. Though comfortable, hotel has absolutely no charm or style. In particular, the breakfast room is very drab, although food is fine. Net curtains in room were filthy. Certainly not a five-star hotel. The "24-hour tapas bar- café" is not 24-hour, indeed one night we went back to hotel, it was already closed at 10pm. Air-conditioning fiddly to adjust, and noisy. All-in-all, in need of refurbishment.
Size of bedroom The beds are way too small and uncomfortable.
Nice rooms at a reasonable price We booked 7 rooms and a meeting room for the afternoon. Meeting room for 350,00€ for the hald day did not have a beamer and they charged additional 174,00€!!!!! for it. On our complaint they have let us know that it is normal for them to offer the meeting rooms without equipments and that the 174,00€ were adäquate.
nice gym and swimming pool, next to shopping centre
aircondition did not work.rooms too hot price of bkfst too high. price should include bkfst
value for money, location SPA area - a lot of outside people and very little pool, good but very expansive breakfast
Very good servicing of room, without being intrusive, towels changed regularly, turn down service in evening, very fast and efficient lifts (we were on tenth floor) spacious quiet rooms, lots of wardrobe space, attentive staff, fast and efficient check-in Not much. Breakfast coffee machine was slow and fiddly!
the breakfast was very good in fact i would say it was excellent no it was very central
location, design, new Lack internet connection (?)
friendly, helpful staff. very clean and well furnished room. great location for all interests. relaxed athmosphere.
Good location Nothing
good position near the metro and the most interesting place. the only bad thing was the water coming out from the bath and shower.
great location, near the metro and puerto del sol. At least one of the staff can speak english
I loved the central location of the hotel and yet it was very quiet and peaceful.
the cleaning staff are polite & work well- the bar service is outstanding, the receptionist was sweet but no sense of direction, I didnt like the fact that the lighting for the room and the bathroom were together on one switch- so going to the bathroom at night is either in the dark or waking your partner up when the lights go on...then something tiny- the stairs from to the sidewalk are slippery & the double doors for the entrance are slow...
The staff was excellent! They ran out of white wine at the hotel bar!
This was a really well situated Hotel in the middle of Madrid and next to Metro Station Callao. Very nice rooms. At the moment, no English TV chanels.
Great location, clean rooms, strong AC, shower pressure was very good, and the room is quiet considering the noise outside the hotel. The wifi was spotty and slow.
Excellent hotel. Recently renovated. Conveniently located in centre of city. Great staff. Warm and friendly. Hop off and on bus tour close by. Nothing
This was one of my favorite hotel stays in my life. I was traveling with my husband. We really enjoyed the ocean view (We also saw what the city view would be, and I'm sure it would be nice). The location was excellent, right on the water but also a very short walk into old town. The staff was the nicest and most helpful in Spain, especially the concierge, who gave great recommendations for everything we wanted to do. Location, staff, view, concierge.
the wireless servise is very good ,the location is very good.
friendly staff, could speak english clean modern room 24hr reception no bar dining area small
The hotel is central. I didn't like the decor and lighting - way too modern and cold looking.
Very nice and a good location. The heater was too high.
it was only a few mintutes from the city shops and resturants. the hotel was very nice and quiet and the staff were very helpfull. the shower easily flooded the bathroom floor after use, so it had to be mopped up everytime.only a minor issue
I liked the mix of heritage on the outside and modern design inside with attention to both tourist & business needs The hot water in the shower was only warm, I like it a little hotter
comfortable and clean hotel with friendly staff. Easy access to city centre and shopping. Lots of eating places around. a little bit cramped
Good location! The price of booking.com was fair, actually the price mentioned at the reception is too high.So I advise to book this hotel only in case of special offers. We paid 380 Euro for 4 nights and the hotel price for 1 night is 330 Euro (unreasonable).
it was in a good position prefer breakfast to be included. Strange lighting in corridors, very dark.
Nice for this money
Comfortable, a very good location, and staff very friendly. The walls were a little thin.
the location is very close to the metro station (plaza de espana) on gran villa street. the stuff are helpfull and do speak english the room is small, not very comfortable. the internet for 1 hour is 6 euro. rooms are not sound proof as they said, but any how it is location and it is price are good comparing it with other hotels at same location
good price. great location. big rooms. clean but a little bit dated the hotel is rather old, but the worst thing is soundproofing - it's terrible. you can hear everything happening at the coridor and in the neighbour rooms as it's happening just next to you. you have no chance to sleep when your neighbours are just talking with each other in their rooms.
Actually nothing to mention, service poor, facilities extremely poor and lack of maintainance everything! i book a double or king size room = i receive a poor "mini" doble bed that i cannot fit (im just 1.78 cm). shower not working, all appearance of room old, holes in curtains, bed, everywhere, a very poor internet services, they charge for every single thing, sistem in room door not working spending more than 30 minuts to open the door, and the worst part the hotel is located besides a "cabaret" that makes the whole night a nightmare. thats just the
Great rooms, very cozy hotel, and in a great location. Very limited internet, it actually didn't work for most of my stay. Check in was delayed, there were a lot of exhausted travelers waiting for their rooms.
Good breakfast, nice staff and clean rooms. The hotel has old inventory/furniture and could use an upgrade, but still nice.
lovely breakfast. great choice. beds comfy which we could elevate to watch tv. great location
Location and the spa
location, hotel views the hotel look a little old, need a refresh
very good location, near metro station and shopping. the bedroom was really a family room. at 9 floor there wasn't any noise of the street and trafic. the breakfast not included and too expensive
Great location & overall atmosphere I didn't like the fact that guests have to pay extra to use the spa facilities. It's the first time I see that. Usually, all you have to pay is for massages, not to use pool & sauna. The hotel has Spa in its name which leads one to assume that the basic spa amenities are included.
It was very relaxing staying in the hotel. Although you were in the city the rooms are soundproof and that was a great help. Everything is within walking distance from the hotel which was great. Also, I was with my parents and tea/coffee facilities in the room was great. I would prefer a more varied menu in the hotel for the evening. Maybe some more comfortable seating for at night would be good. Also the airconditioning needs to be a little more efficient rooms very warm at night. But overall excellent.
I had a very comfortable room with excellent facilities. The hotel was very convenient to shops, sights and restaurants. The reception area and bar need upgrading. They are rather basic and not what one would expect of a four star hotel.
everything. super location
The fact that the hotel was central and everything was accessable
The location is fantastic, but since I already know Madrid I knew this going it. It's about a block and a half from the Plaza Espana metro and it's very accessible to pretty much everything. I also liked that they had a free mini bar though there were just a couple of Pepsi's, bottles of waters, a couple of juice boxes, and an alcohol free beer. It was still a nice bonus. Another surprise was how big the bathroom was, nearly as big as the bedroom and there is a remote control for the bed that elivates it. The room was also really clean. I was disappointed actually, despite of all the things I said prior. It's listed as a 4 star hotel so I had high expectations and it didn't meet them. The room was an interior room so there was no view, fair enough though, I guess they can't all be. There was only shampoo/ body gel in the shower, I'd fully expected if not tiny bottles of each, then dispensers for all three. Also the decor was quite outdated looking, not old fashioned in a tasteful way, but outdated. Like it was still stuck in the 80's. One other point, I was really excited about the spa, but that was the most disappointing part. No seperate changing rooms, 1/2 the jets didn't work and the jacuzzi was tepid, also the sauna was broken.
Hotel staff was friendly. The breakfast was good. Good location. Our room was too small. The lights were too confusing to work properly. They don't allow you to use the exercise equipment before 10:00am. Would have liked them to serve breakfast at least until 11:00.
