The stuff is really nice. The breakfast was rather rich. Just small things - no remote control for TV, and for me the room was a bit too warm. Otherwise it is good place to stay.
We arrived at around 11:00 in the morning and they were kind enough to give us an "early check-in". Room was really clean and there was a very nice toiletry kit on the bathroom. Nice little restaurants around the area. Although not at city "centre", it was really easy to get around, especially on the red bus. Would recommend Gran Versalles to everyone!
location (easy walk to the museums or to sol and grand via), staff, can easily book excursions from the hotel. air conditioning is very low, but open the window and the room cools down. air conditioning is too weak to cool the room on its own.
Recommended. We parked a car there; the garage is a tight fit. Everything else about or room and the assistance we received was simply excellent. We did not dine at the hotel, but only because we had other commitments.
Very well connected to centre and various points of interest. It was cold during the night and even with 2 blankets we could not warm up. Bed was hard and not recommended to people with back problems. Several times at night and very early mornings we heard loud , extended noise, as if someone would move the furniture. It is still a mistery where this noise came from, very unlikely that the hotel guests made it. I would be curious to find out.
The staff was nice and helpful although sometime English was a little limited. Right next to a subway station and although we had a street-side room it was quiet at night. breakfast is really over priced, just go to a cafe nearby.
it had good value for the money paid, and the staff was very helpful.
Nice place to stay as was within walking distance of all city ammenities but not in the center well its a 4* but would say its a border line 3* - 4*
The hotel is quiet, clean and the staff are attentive. the staff also spoke english which was a great help. I stayed at the hotel at the start and end of my visit to Spain and the staff were professional and helpful on both occasions. I liked the Hotel location as it was a nice area of Madrid and easy to get to the Metro station which was just round the corner. both the rooms I stayed in were air conditioned. The room I had at the end of my trip however did not have a control switch for the air conditioning and I found it a bit noisy.
We really enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was very good. Staff most helpful. Very happy with location We had no complaint about Gran Versalles
The facilities at Gran Versalles was filled with comfort. The shower facility is different from the rest with separate shower head with clean towels and separated sink for each person. Thank you!
Location,Staff,Price Room was very uncomfortable at night (Too warm) - inadequate airconditioning.
Front desk staff Room rate
The roomm was nice and clean and breakfast is quite good
Location was great, close to everything by shorty cab ride. Clean comfortable and beautiful. Very helpful staff and a good value.
Almost everything Very few TV programs in English
Paper thin walls between the rooms. Very hot as air conditioning did not seem to work well. But was not a problem for us as it was cold outside.
Elegant entry way, beautiful decor and wonderful location! It was close to the centre and other great neighbourhoods, but quiet and comfortable. Cleaning services were not the best, minimal in particular throughout the stay. We are both blond, but everyday there were more black hairs in the room.
Nice hotel, very good breakfast. Hotel staff is always helpful. Location is quite good, close to San Bernardo Metro. My room had a view on the internal court and was very dark.
Breakfast was a big surprise and made the stay great. Also a nice bar and Location 1 block from San Bernardo metro Line 2 was great. Decor is a bit dated
grt staffgrt facilities
nice place, walking distance to 5 metro stations, very comfortable and spacious rooms though the breakfast was not bad, it didn't have the variety one would expect from a 4-star hotel
Big room Lousy wc, did not work. Extremly hard and uncomfortable bed. Minibar was not refilled. The Spanish maid could not speak a word of English, and evidently could not read as she did not know the difference between Clean room and Do not disturb
It was very quiet hotel and small hotel.
Very well located - 20mins nice walk to centre, near metro and in a relaxt area-, friendly hotel staff, all very new and comfortable, sauna is nice after a day of city touring! Although rooms are spacious it is noisy: we could hear the tv fro our neighbors at 5.30h in the morning
Nice hotel, room a large and confortable close to 2 different metro-stations.
Quiet room as requested
The stylish furniture. Very few food at the breakfast for a 4 star Hotel in a European capital.
Helpful staff. Room cleaned earl yin day. Location right next to Metro station was really good. Quiet area of Madrid.
Convenient for metro line. Clean, comfortable and close enough to city centre that you could walk there and back safely in the evenings. Lovely breakfast. Very helpful staff. It would have been even better if there had been a hospitality tray in the bedroom (ie with a kettle to make hot drinks in the evening) and a Gideon's Bible in drawer. These are usually standard features in UK guesthouses and hotels.
It was close to everything, staff very polite and helpful
The atmosphere of the hotel was very relaxed but still very professional.
The hotel is in a very good location. The rooms were very clean and comfortable.
The hotel is very near to the underground station, clean, the staff speaks English, very good breakfast. Although we personally didn´t mind, for some people the palce could be very noisy during the night as well as early morning (noise coming from the street´s night life)! Our room was on the 2nd floor and downstairs on the street there is a petrol station. It was very loud.. I can imagine that for people with sleeping disorder or children it could be very difficult to fall asleep..
Included breakfast was a good range and reasonable quality. Convenient to the metro which was four metro stops from Sol. Beds, shower and room were ok. The "free" Wifi is not free!!! After using one 30 minute voucher for extremely slow wifi in the lobby, we were told to purchase wifi at an exorbitant rate. Some of the staff were downright rude even though I used my limited spanish to ask if they spoke english and, when they said they didn't, I tried to communicate in spanish. The room was stuffy and as they are on a major road the only alternative was a loud fan.
The hotel was clean, close to two metro stations, but one could reach interesting sites at the center also by walking. Expensive wi-fi, expensive breakfast.
nice brakfast, good Location there is no corkscrew in a room
the room gives real comfort..very clean and good bathroom goodies access to Wi-fi should always be free
Very clean rooms, bedclothes exchange every day, comfortable (TV, minibar, aircondition), safe in rooom, helpfull staff, very good location; near metro station.
Great location for visiting the city centre of Madrid Using internet facilities in the hotel lobby on the hotel's pc was not a great experience. Internet was slow and over priced.
Close to metro. safe location as I was travelling alone. Quiet.
the room was clean and comfortable enough and the hotel quite central The rooms are on the street and therefore a little noisy at night
Location, cafe on site, and free wifi N/a
Its central location Cramped reception area...unappealing cafe
Location breakfast should be improved
Nice staff, good location but quiet. Singles a little on the small side but OK.
Staff were very helpful and english was great; easy to access via the metro; we liked the neighborhood
The room was nice and clean, and the staff was friendly and English speaking. There's also a nice bakery just down the street and the metro is only about a block or two away. Great value for our money.
This hotel is in an area with lots of small bars and restaurants that locals use. If you want to get a little bit out of the city centre and experience how the locals live then you may like this hotel location. There are several metro stops that are neat the hotel. The breakfast choice was limited but they had really good coffee and a nice selection of pastries and croissants The walls were a little thin - could easily hear person next door coughing. It was fairly quiet during my stay but I can imagine problems if you had noisy neighbours
Very central to subway and transport Very small room only enough room to have a bed in it
The room was very quiet.
extremely helpful and friendly staff Perhaps breakfast was a bit expensive
Comfortable room for good price. Good to have non-smoking room available. Air conditioning worked well. Bed was very comfortable. Another NH hotel where I stayed in Salamanca had a tissue dispenser in bathroom. All NH hotels should have same amenities in bathrooms. Would be good to add tissue dispensers to your bathrooms. Also, it would be a real asset to make a free computer with an Internet connection available to your guests in the lobby. Many less expensive hotels and hostals in Spain do this.
The hotel located in a non-tourist area but close to the main areas of interest. The service personnel is very polite and benevolent. Some rooms need some minor renovation.
Helpful staff that could explain how to find what we needed.
Hotel is pretty close to city centre, great rooms, comfortable beds, good breakfast, free wifi in lobby and courteous staff. I didn't see any free parking available, only for residents. Hotel took payment straight from credit card before we even arrived, something which I did not like.
The room was really spatious, the bed comfortable, the bathroom large and well equipped, the staff very helpful It was impossible to turn off the heating in the room so it was too hot during the night.
The room was very expensive but very small with bad odours coming from the bathroom pipes. I saw wood lice and there was a lot of mould in the bathroom. The breakfast was good but overpriced. I was honestly quite disappointed.
The location was great for the University district. The room was clean.
reception staff very helpful situated in a residential area so less touristy noise travels because of wooden floors
Compact hotel, small (single ) but clean and comfortable room. Staff were helpful and courteous. Location was excellent for what was required, but not necessarily where I would have stayed for any other visit. Credit card payment for room was taken automatically before I checked out. Since I had eaten breakfast I needed to add to the bill. I pay in pounds sterling and the hotel charges in Euros I get two surcharges for using foreign currency; this was not appreciated.
location, staff, no soap and shampoo
very central everytime someone came he had to ring the bell to be opened. as the walls are very thin, I woke up at 23.00, 1.00, 3.00, 4.00, ....
It is central, has 24-hour reception, people are nice. I would recommend this hostel to people who are short of money. The rooms are really small, I booked two triple rooms, one of those had no appearance to be a triple room, but a double one with an extra bed. Internet doesnt work on all bedrooms, I had to be at a small tv-room to get connection.
Very comfortable, peaceful room. Fridge very handy, and free wifi excellent. Stayed at another hostel in Madrid, but this was far superior. Close to several metro stations.
The location of the hostal is quite good, rooms are clean and most of the staff friendly. Most of the staff only speaks Spanish except one lady who also speaks French. We asked for a double bed but got 2 single beds. Changing rooms was only possible after 2 nights. The fridge in the room didn't work, and the rooms are quite noisy.
Close to where we wanted to be.
Nice staff, perfect location
the stuff of the hotel didn't speek english , this situation creat dificulties. this hotel may be good for spanish speeking guests
The Hostal is very central and clean. High quality/price level.
Good location, friendly staff, acceptable price. Comfortable enough for a traveler that needs only a place to spend a night - not a resort hotel to spend whole days in
