Pros:The staff were friendly and very helpful throughout our stay. Hotel was clean. In walking distance to a variety of restaurants. For the price, this place was great. Will stay again. Good free WiFi.
Cons:The mattresses are all springs and very creaky if you move at all. No food or bar on site.

Pros:Wonderful small hotel right in the heart of the Lower East Side of NYC. You step out the hotel door and you are in the real NYC. Less than a block away from a subway station. Beautiful 7th floor patio that you can see views of the Empire State Building, Freedom Tower and the Chrysler Building. Every type of restaurant you can think of within walking distance. A Whole Foods a block away.
Cons:The mattresses in the rooms could be a little better quality. Not terrible but could be better.

Pros:This was our second stay at Hotel East Houston and we still liked it. The rooms are quite small but big enough to not feel claustrophobic. There's a glass wall between the bathroom and the room, so you'll need to be pretty comfortable with your traveling partner. I liked the fact that our room had an Air conditioning/heat system we could control on our own.
Cons:The hotel is not super convenient to any major Subway lines. Houston Street is often busy so you'll likely hear some street noise in your room. But hey, that's NYC for you.

Pros:This hotel was in a great location close to everything- subway, restaurants and bars. The room itself was nice and clean, it seems like it was recently updated.
Cons:Like most hotels in NYC, it's small. It also doesn't have a bar or restaurant on site, but with so many near it you don't need to worry.

Pros:I needed a hotel close to a conference I was attending and found a deal here online. this turned out to be a great choice. Affordable small room is well furnished perfect for one person or a couple who like to be close! I travel with a service dog, and the hotel staff treated us both extremely well. There was a ton of fun NYC activity to do in walking distance & subway is right across the street, so my business trip included the requisit level of evening debauchery. If you'd rather spend your time in the city out on the town than in your room, this perfectly fine hotel saves ya money you could spend in restaurants & at shows!
Cons:pipes creak... really that's all i got. the building's old world charm I guess!

Pros:The staff was so nice and the room was clean & comfortable. A great deal in a fun neighborhood. They even held onto my luggage after check out so I could run around the city before heading to the airport.
Cons:The rooms are all situated by the elevator which can get a little noisy but not too bad.

Pros:I've stayed here at least 5 times now, so finally felt compelled to review. The hotel is nothing truly fancy but it almost feels that way. Rooms are very small, but they're nice. If you're there for business or travel and not planning to stay inside you'll be fine. I've stayed in hotels for twice the price that feel to be the same scale. I keep returning bc they make it easy. The staff is super friendly and the location is literally steps from the subway. More then anything it's the price vs facilities that can't be beat. For the same $$ you'd be staying in generic corporate hotels that are uglier, less clean and grumpy. There's also coffee and tea served all day, which is nice.
Cons:The elevator is slow and they no longer serve breakfast.
