10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly, accommodating staff, great location
7.5 Good
Pros: Great location close to MIT, nice informal atmosphere, good size rooms, excellent breakfast, decent customer service.
Cons: The location of the breakfast buffet, the limited capacity of the restaurant in terms of tables, the freezing airco all over the hotel (even in places where no A/C is needed)-lots of wasted energy
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Starting with a warm welcome from the staff, to housing our bags while we attended the Red Sox game (as we arrived before check in time), to providing a delicious warm breakfast! The rooms were super clean and absolutely adorable! They had quite a few amenities and even a cute snack bag for the taking...free of charge! Bonus for us was the welcome glass of wine we received upon checking in. ❤ The other great thing was that The Boston Old Town Trolley stops right in front of the Hotel. This was super convenient for our day of exploration! Highly recommend! We will definitely be back!!!
Cons: N/A
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The Sunday breakfast buffet was outstanding! The night before was a comfortable and classy complimentary glass of wine at the bar. Bed very comfortable. The decor added a warm yet quaint feel to the hotel. Would highly recommend, and looking forward to staying again.
Cons: The parking garage is extremely tiny and room enough for maybe 15 vehicles.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was very good. The Kendall is a lovely and quaint place.
7.0 Good
Pros: Nice hotel and location. Has a great ambiance from the past
Cons: Breakfast is not very good - traditional coffee and no possibility to have a latte with milk substitutes Elevator does not work very well and was actually shut down for some time during our stay (we stayed unfortunately on the 7th floor). Staff were not forthcoming in explaining the situation With the high heat that we experienced that week the air-co of the hotel cannot work sufficiently to coll down the room We stayed here before - situation was better!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We love The Kendall. It is our first choice when looking for a place in the Boston area. We stay here many times throughout the year. We recommend it to friends and family.
Cons: They were having issues with the elevator this past weekend. Other times the price can be pretty high depending on what is going on in the area.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Fruit was very fresh which is not always the case in 'free breakfast' hotels. Bacon was cooked well and very tasty. Staff was very available to accommodate any requests/needs.
Cons: perhaps a second juice available besides orange?
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff, beds, room, I loved it all
Cons: From the staff to the decor... Everything was excellent and comfortable... Much like a bed and breakfast.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, excellent breakfast and generally very nice.
Cons: The elevator did not work one day. The other days it was erratic. Newer staff at front desk could use some more training.
2.0 Mediocre
Cons: They called and cancelled room on me even though I was given a confirmation number - at 8:30 pm the night of check in! I had to try and find a room standing on the street corner - totally unacceptable.

Nice, polite, friendly and extremely helpful. Breakfast is amazing! What a nice spread they put on every morning. It is not an ordinary breakfast included breakfast.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Well appointed rooms, super clean, great staff, super friendly and genuine.
Cons: Didn’t realise the summer in the city festival entailed a live band outside our window every night!! And it was loud!!! We should have been given the option to change our hotel room to a city view at check in as it took our jet lagged 8 year old quite some time to settle and fall asleep.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful room with a fantastic view.
Cons: Several small problems like unfriendly staff at breakfast reception and very long wait at breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean and safe
Cons: All good
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and amenities. If we asked for it we got it. Yoga mat, ice, corkscrew, and maintenance. We had one of the newly renovated rooms which was really beautiful. Fantastic view into the harbour.
Cons: Some of the new renovations were not checked thoroughly for functionality. Toilet ran and needed adjustment. The sliding door into the bathroom could not be opened or closed without significant effort. Maintenance could not fix it as the door is too heavy
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a true 5 star experience
Cons: The AC in the room had a very strong fan, even when turned down low - it did not extend to the bed so it worked for me but if I had sat at the desk, it was to the point of uncomfortable. But the overall hotel experience was first rate.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and the staff
Cons: $60 parking fees!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It’s location was exactly what I needed, close to everything the city has to offer.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: If you are not required to be in Downtown Boston, absolutely stay at the Crescent Inn. I really is like a bed & breakfast, with helpful staff, a nice breakfast every morning, and commodious rooms. Fruit available all the time, cookies, and nice outdoor seating areas. TONS of parking
Cons: Nothing really - it had everything I needed
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We attended a college graduation and the Crescent was convenient, clean, a value and comfortable. I’d recommend it to a traveler like us, but it wasn’t really romantic. And there was a kitchen with a refrigerator so we were able to get desert-to-go after dinner at a local restaurant!

Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, luggage storage, and a library. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was excellent. A real New England Inn!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Snacks (chocolate covered nuts, bars, peanuts, cookies), public areas. Plenty of restaurant options, walk to Fenway, beautiful drive into the city. A great place to stay more economically, but still have access to all the best in Boston. Would do it again.
Cons: Temp in the room is hard to control and didn't sleep as well as I'd like on the bed. No big deal.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I'll preface this review by saying I used to live in this neighborhood, so I know it well, and I've stayed in a few of the local B&Bs and inns. This was my first time at the Samuel Sewall, and I'd say it was the best of the group and I will definitely stay there again next time. What stood out? The friendliness and helpfulness of the desk staff, the comfortableness of the bed and room, the size of the bathroom, the overall lovely "feel" of the inn itself. The location is perfect (there's a reason I usually stay here instead of downtown, when travel brings me to Boston), easily accessible to the T (subway) as well as to lots of great restaurants and shops (including the best sushi place and best bookstore in the greater Boston area), but also quiet at night and not choked with tourists. A wonderful place to stay, in a wonderful location.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice room, comfortable feel to the place. Staff very warm and helpful and for what I needed to do, the location is great.
Cons: NA
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfasts are always delicious, and always a good variety of food and coffee.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed everything here from the room with a big king size bed and a private bath to an excellent location (close to T station) and friendly staff. We recommend this place to anyone coming to Boston.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel with charm and character
Cons: Old creaking and uneven floors
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff are amazingly helpful! I have seen them getting lemons and ice for guests who asked in the morning. The breakfast is a buffet style but is more delicately and finely prepared and served. The location is great to walk to many restaurants and shops, and particularly for the visit to Dana Farber. It is very quiet at night so we had a really good night of sleep! Love the room and its furnishing, historical flavor with modern taste. Last but not least, the hospitality of the hotel definitely is beyond description!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast. Very cozy place to stay
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place was lovely. I don't really normally like bed and breakfasts but I loved this place and the furniture, decorations, atmosphere were lovely. I would stay here next time I am in the area. The staff was fantastic.

Pros: The location and service was perfect.
Cons: There was no microwave or anything to heat any food in the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A great stay in a vibrant area within an easy and interesting walk to the heart of Boston. Top-notch staff, large comfortable and clean rooms/bathrooms. Not cheap, but not overpriced for area. Easy, reasonable parking. Our Deluxe King room towards the northwest corner had a good view of the fish pier and (bonus!) the airport runway traffic beyond, though stout windows blocked any noise. Harpoon taproom an easy walk.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The extra touches like a special selection of pillows and blankets and got to try a novel sort of pillow and a weighted blanket. They also had sachets of lavender for the pillows and bathrobes and probably the nicest hotel bar soap I’ve ever had
5.0 Okay
Pros: location
Cons: They added a hotel "service fee" to my supposedly prepaid stay. Bah. You should disclose the total cost when booking.

Cons: No dislikes
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and cleanliness
Cons: The fees they charge for drinks at the bar

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Excellent staff. The room was well appointed and quiet. The beds were extremely comfortable. I appreciated the coffee service on the main floor each morning. The restaurant was fabulous as well.
Cons: I liked everything about this hotel. I expect it is reasonably priced for a lovely hotel in a great location, but I wish it were less expensive because I'd like to spend more time there!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Small classy hotel .. Comfy beds .. My favorite hotel to stay in Boston ..
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, and helped us arrange an early check-in. The hotel bar was a nice place to hang. Nice small touches like the free cold brew on tap in the mornings and the smell of the lobby.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was perfect, less than a minute from the subway. However Boston was so beautiful we walked a lot. The staff were incredibly helpful, helping us to find tickets for the Redsox baseball, which is a 15 minute walk. Shopping is just around the corner and seafront is probably 20 minutes walk or short subway. The hotel was beautiful. Very clean and had some nice extras like chocolates on your pillow and fruit and coffee to grab and go in the morning. Staff were really helpful on checking out with our boarding passes and directions. Would love to stay here again!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the turn down service, the concierge's assistance & the bananas offered for guests.
Cons: The gym smelled funny & way too hot.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Location was excellent. Hotel was beautiful, comfortable and very clean.
Cons: Service in dining room was poor. The manager told me I was reading the menu incorrectly, then once I pointed it out to her, she acknowledged I was correct. Later came back to tell me that I should remember for future reference that what was printed on the menu was actually wrong and what she told me was right!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is beautiful - a boutique historical property with an edge of contemporary flair. The lobby is gorgeous! The staff were all fantastic, the doorman remembered us and the desk clerk brought up a bottle of wine when he heard it was my birthday. Warm, comfortable and a perfect location for exploring Boston!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location, staff and decor.
Cons: Bathroom was small.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Lenox does a great job with the most basic expectations...but they hit the details out of the park! From the thread count of the sheets to the cookies/lemonade in the lobby, this hotel goes the extra mile.

Pros: Free tea/coffee in the mornings Huge tv Comfy bed Excellent concierge Great location
Cons: Air con quite noisy You can hear water rushing down inside the walls when someone upstairs flushes the toilet/has a shower
1.0 Poor
Pros: The staff were very helpful and friendly.
Cons: Room 419 heater did not work. It was freezing and engineering told us the the temperature was 75 degrees when it felt like 35 degrees. Heater was fixed after two hours; however, the heater was so loud, like an airplane engine.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: The property was great and the staff was exactly what you’d expect from the Four Seasons. They made my birthday feel special.
Cons: I came to the realization pretty quickly that I was paying for the hotel “name” and the real estate. I’ve had much nicer accommodations in far less expensive hotel brands. But hey, now I can say I’ve stayed at The Four Seasons.
5.8 Okay
Cons: We where the only black ppl there an they treated us as if we just walk in off the street an tired to get a room without paying for it

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff exceedingly attentive. Every individual was delightful and willing to please. Location was superior for our needs. Dining room was comfortable with a pleasant view of Boston Common. Also enjoyed the bar area.
Cons: Room layout was odd, with the bathroom right next to the bed. Restaurant dining options were limited. After checking in, after traveling all day we were looking for a light meal and ended settling for a hamburger and a bowl of soup. We found the in-room dining had different options and wonder why these were not available in the restaurant. Food and beverage prices were high even by hotel dining standards. Lobby was sterile and not very comfortable.
10.0 Excellent

Pros: The hosts were extremely gracious and knowledgeable about the area and events/activities of potential interest to their guests. The home had old world charm and eclectic decor that contributed to comfort. We experienced wonderful interaction with other guests at breakfasts and in the lounge in the evenings. It will be our number one choice for future trips to the Boston area.
Cons: Nothing comes to mind.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ellen & Craig were marvelous...location of the property perfect....room & bed comfy....a bit warm the first night, the second night a fan appeared...conversation with the owners was delightful....breakfasts were light (pastries, hard boiled eggs, coffee, tea, berries, etc.) but delicious. A WONderful time!
Cons: The flowers were a bit wilted. (This is a a joke. Ellen told us about a reviewer who loved the place but took offense for being asked to place the dirty breakfast dishes on a nearby tray...because of this, and this only(!!), the reviewer gave the place a mid-range review) - so if it weren't for the wilted flowers...Chesley Road would get a "5." Gotta work on the ambiance, Ellen! (Loved our time there!!)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ellen and Greg are great hosts, make you feel at home. Super comfy bed, really clean, offer superb breakfast. Really safe area with restaurants and metro station nearby, easy to get to Boston centre, absolutely recommendable
9.7 Excellent
Pros: This quaint Victorian bed and breakfast in Newton is a welcome alternative to the many overpriced hotels you find in Boston. Ellen, the owner, was a friendly and gracious host. Accommodations were excellent, as was the breakfast, which had more than adequate choices each day. This is a welcoming home that I highly recommend.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was very good and the location was perfect for visiting my daughter who is studying at BC.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very good building in a quiet area but very close to the centre of the town with a good choice of restaurants. Very good transport links close by to get into central Boston. Friendly owners of the property who are genuinely interested in making sure your stay is a good one.
Cons: All very good can’t think of anything we didn’t like.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Hosts totally warm and friendly...location great...home beautiful...
Cons: Think we would have been happier in larger room with ensuite bath...plan to go back and ask for that! Surprised at cold breakfast first morning...but had quiche the second day....
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice, short walk to our destination. Proprietors were very nice, breakfast was a nice start to our day. We will be using their services again in the future.
Cons: Rain
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a pleasant place to stay. It felt like home. Ellen was very attentive to our dietary needs. I also found the ability to enter the house with a security code less stressful than having a key to keep track of.
Cons: Nothing really.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent place to rest and relax between visits to Cambridge and Boston, especially after a busy week in NYC. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and hospitality.

Pros: Have stayed here many times but certainly the service from the night manager having changed was not as good

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is the second time that we have stayed at the Inn at Hastings Park. We had a much smaller room this time, but were lucky to even get a room. It was very comfortable with a lovely rain shower and the Nespresso maker with real Half and Half. We especially liked being able to control the temperature in the room and it was quiet. The staff was very helpful and nice to a one. We had dinner and breakfast at Artisty and both were delicious. We highly recommend staying here.
8.0 Excellent
Cons: We were not quoted the correct price. We were charged an additional $70.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Simply spectacular! Fabulous in every way: the staff, the breakfast, the room and the decor. I can’t wait to come back to the Boston area so we can stay here again.
Cons: Nothing, it was wonderful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I stayed in room 30. Everything was lovely. Only minor bump was the room was above the check-in room door of the hotel and when people (probably unassuming hotel guests) would slam that door, it would rattle the house (and my room). Again, that was only a minor annoyance. What I loved: It was all the little details and obvious heart that went into making sure everything was lovely. The soft robes and comfy slippers, and beautiful tall glass water bottles... it just made me feel pampered. Also, it's the staff's caring and attention to detail. For example, I had a bouquet of flowers and the staff brought a vase to put them in. I let Alex know I would be working, and she brought me a table so I could sit in the window and work next to the natural light. Then the actual experience: All the toiletries (Molton Brown) and little sewing kit, make up remover and cotton pads to remove makeup were such a nice touch! The hotel bar and restaurant (great wine list!) were lovely and the bedding was so comfy! The hotel felt like home but with more pampering. Alex and the staff were attentive and helpful. Everything felt luxurious and well thought out. I will be booking here again.
Cons: Only minor bump was the room was above the check-in room door of the hotel and when people (probably unassuming hotel guests) would slam that door, it would rattle the house (and my room). Again, that was only a minor annoyance.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: Late check-Out I wish we could have checked out at 1pm
1.0 Poor
Pros: The room and location were lovely. While I stayed there the staff were nice.
Cons: One month after my stay, I got a $90 charge on my credit card from the hotel for laundry. I did not have any laundry done at the hotel. A bellhop tried to drop off some one else's laundry during my stay, but I never asked for laundry to be done.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff wss excellent. Boston Nick very helpful. Location, eastern standard chips.
Cons: Expensive, no vent in bathroom. But overall good value and great location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location to Fenway park
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location next to Kenmore Station, literally steps away. Comfortable Beds, Fantastic Staff..
Cons: Only thing I couldnt figure was how to stop water leaking through the small opening in the glass shower doors.. Eventually we just place a huge towel on the floor
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We arrived early (11:00 AM) and inquired at the front desk about checking our bags so we could walk the area. We learned that our room was ready for check-in. Big plus! Front desk staff were extremely polite and helpful. Room was clean and updated. Valet parking was convenient and attendants were very personable.
Cons: We had the breakfast package included at Eastern Standard. Eastern Standard has a great atmosphere but the service and food was a major disappointment. We were seated and were informed by our server that she would be with us in a couple of minutes. After a 10 minute wait we were brought coffee by the hostess. We continued to wait but the server never returned. The hostess again returned and this time took our order. Our food arrived, eggs Benedict, and we both found that the eggs had been over cooked, hard in the middle as well as the English muffin to be like a hockey puck. The hostess never returned to check on our meal. Total disappointment!!!!
7.5 Good
Pros: Proximity to Fenway and subway. View of Fenway, ease and friendliness of valet parking service.
Cons: $25/night Resort fee for things that are included in EVERY other hotel. I didn't use any of the things I paid for (coffee, gym, car service etc.) I don't think this hotel had a resort feel to it at all ☹️ As a traveler at the end of a ten day trip, where I stayed in 4 other hotels, I thought this hotel was just OK. For the money I paid there are plenty of other hotels with more amenities. This is my second time in Boston and I wish we had stayed where we did the first time. No fault of the hotel but parents beware there is NOTHING for kids to do once you're done for the day (no pool or game room). I think this hotel would be great for couples or those on business trips.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Close to everything
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Ease of getting to Fenway.
Cons: The BS $25 per night fee for “WiFi, water bottles in the room, shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom..... etc”. These are all table stakes for Marriott/Hyatt.... $58 per day for parking??? I get that parking is bad in Boston but $58 per day???!!!! Highway robbery!
7.0 Good
Cons: They charge a ridiculous "resort fee" os U$ 25.00 day ☹️
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, great attention to detail. Nice amenities. Reasonable price.
Cons: The only thing is during our stay, most of the fitness machines were not working.,

The hotel restaurant/bar was excellent and great to spend time in after a long day of sightseeing. The rooms were well appointed and the beds were very comfortable. I loved that the hotel used to be the old Boston Police headquarters! I will tell everyone to stay there...

Pros: It was a nice hotel and clean with fairly roomy rooms for Boston and the bathroom was very spacious. The room was clean and nicely decorated. We were only there for a night so we didn't spend very much time there.

Pros: Everyone was very friendly and welcoming, facilities were nice and my request for a crib was met with no problems.

The Godfrey Hotel Boston - Boston - Building
16
9.0 Excellent (2,853 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Nestled in the very heart of Downtown Crossing, The Godfrey Hotel Boston is mere steps to theater, shopping, nightlife, dining, public transportation, the Boston Common, financial district office towers, the Freedom Trail and Chinatown.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location was why I selected the Godfrey. Easy access to historic State House where the Declaration of Independence was read on the 4th of July. The street has a wonderful vibe. The lobby is great for family gatherings. The door men are wonderful greeters.
Cons: Very weird and impossible remote control for the TV. Buttons were useless and kept sticking. Bedside lamp required you to get out of bed after reading to turn the light off. I wish the room was more user friendly for these simple every day routines.
6.3 Good
Pros: Location is great
Cons: Room was quite small for what I paid and nothing was complementary
4.0 Okay
Pros: Nice staff let us check in early. Had no problem with us hanging out in the lobby when our flight was delayed.
Cons: REALLY tiny room. Kind of a snooty vibe, even though the "Downtown Crossing" neighborhood is a little sketchy. Be careful walking around at night!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, friendly staff, very good food for dinner & breakfast right next door.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: It was easy to walk to most parts of the city. The shower and beds were great.
Cons: No breakfast, except for attached coffee shop but not my cup of tea ( pardon the pun). Lots of homeless/ rough sleepers in the side streets nearby. Rooms low down can be very noisy- we had drilling in the road at 1.30 am for ages followed by bin collection at 5am. We did get moved to a higher floor with a great view and it was much quieter. Quite pricey for what you get, but I suppose you are paying for location.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location is fabulous. Very short walk to Boston Common. Comfortable bed. A low light turns on when you walk into the bathroom which is very useful at night.
Cons: Insufficient towel racks in bathroom.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The location
Cons: The bathroom door was a sliding wooden door that does not lock and staying with multiple people where a bathroom door doesn't shut/lock probably was the only odd thing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable room and bed / bedding. Nice pillows. Robes. Daily water bottles. Updated bathroom (fixtures, decor, lighting, rain showerhead). Excellent service - requested large ice bucket, extra coffee (keurig in room) with creamers. Felt pampered. Great location. Will definitely stay here again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location! Wonderful rooms and staff!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel in an excellent location. The room size was a little bit small as usual but the quality of bed, bath, interior was outstanding. The comfort, coziness and wellness of the bed with its cushions and linens was one of the best experienced so far. The coffeeshop serves excellent breakfast and there is an outstanding restaurant aside. Staff is super friendly and helpful!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The sale price was great , the room was small but comfortable.
Cons: I didn't like the staff asking what they could do and when I did have a request to extend my stay with the same price, it was denied.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We did not have breakfast included, but our room was a comfortable place to return to after long days exploring Boston. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Cons: No
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Stunning hotel, very friendly and accommodating staff, perfect location for all of Boston
Cons: Construction on church across from my room, started early, relentless but hotel had no control over it
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location for shopping. Gold floor staff were very attentive. Worth the upgrade, especially as the Oak bar was so crowded on Saturday night. The Gold lounge was a pleasant oasis.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location! Location! Location! Coffee maker in room along with a mini fridge. Bed was super comfortable! The hotel has so much charm. The location is why I would stay here again. (Liked the free WiFi too) It's also a 10 min walk to Enterprise Car Rental.
Cons: The hotel walls were paper thin. A wedding party stayed at the hotel that night and it was sososo loud!!! We could hear all of their conversations from midnight till 3am. Also ask for King or double beds. My husband daughter and I slept in a Queen.
6.5 Good
Pros: Beautiful lobby, fantastic location, lots of places to gather with coworkers in the lobby.
Cons: Bad views, small rooms, the two front desk people I met were fake nice, and there was a crib in my room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Deluxe room - lots of space, good desk/lighting/reading chair, excellent bed, large marble bath and amenities. OAK is a great bar and restaurant with excellent food and lively vibe. Room service was prompt, friendly and delicious. And the hotel has a sweet black Lab to welcome guests.
Cons: Noise from hall seeps in through the old wood doors; not really a problem until a couple drunk bros came in at 4AM and spent 20 minutes in the hall being enthusiastic.
7.0 Good
Pros: the location was great. very pretty lobby and bar
Cons: the room was small. the hallways upstairs were a little creepy.
5.0 Okay
Pros: location
Cons: The hotel was ok but the information on the advertisement was misleading. We paid for a certain room and when we got there they said that was not available and admitted that the picture in the ad was not accurate. We were finally given the room we wanted
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the chandeliers, mirrors, marble, location, service
Cons: No shop in hotel for sodas, snacks, ice cream
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very well maintained, staff is great, rooms are always feresh and well maintained
Cons: Not necessarily the hotel but for the price we paid the room was small and tight
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Gold floor is worth the rent extra price.
Cons: Room service/housekeeping left dirty trays in the corridors.

Pros: we stayed a few weeks ago, prior to this one night stop at the end of a busy bus tour of New England and it was like coming back to your own home - total comfort and relaxation .
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location was perfect to get to my daughter's graduation
Cons: Breakfast from 8-10 am....by 8;55 it was totally picked over. Only 1 hot choice egg with salmon ( I am allergic)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Seeing and staying in a well preserved/restored period home. The innkeepers were just the right amount of friendly, helpful, and available. My daughter and I really enjoyed sitting by the fireplace in the evening reading and soaking up the atmosphere.
Cons: Paying for parking seems a little greedy. But then, I am from a small city and do not pretend to understand all the customs of big city parking and its premium.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The stepping back in time feeling was a visual treat. The ambience made our visit feel like visiting someone’s home. We enjoyed the breakfasts and the added bonus of snacks and drinks available throughout the day. It is very easy to get from the airport to the inn using the T Line - just be sure on the green line that you access the compartment with wheelchair access if you have heavy cases, otherwise you have to climb steep steps.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: It's located in the best neighborhood. I used to live in Brookline and it still remains my favorite place as it is quiet, friendly and beautiful. Bertram inn is really close to Coolidge Corner, where you would find lots of local stores and restaurants and the famous Coolidge Corner Theater. Definitely the best place to gain some local experience for people who are new to this wonderful town. The facilities in the house are extremely homey and elegant. Comfortable beds, friendly staff, delicious breakfast, cozy common space... We wish we could stay a bit longer!
Cons: On the first night we found that the water sink was not working properly so we called the staff to fix it. In the afternoon next day we got back and found that some staff were moving our clothes and bags to another room without our knowledge. They then explained to us that the sink needs more time to be fixed and offered another room for us to stay. The staff were all super friendly and even offered us a small refund but maybe they could have notified us before moving our personal stuff...
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Traveled with my 12 yr old son; had a late check-in and pull out bed was open and ready for use when we arrived. (So grateful.) Very quiet; couldn’t hear outside traffic from room. Inn was very close to green line stop.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful. The location was perfect, Coolidge Corner is full of interesting shops and terrific restaurants. Breakfast was delicious and the staff couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful.
Cons: My only complaint was a too soft bed. My mattress at home is firm latex on a board, anything softer is a problem.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location of this bed and breakfast is optimal to the area we were traveling to. The amenities were standard and what we expected.
Cons: The bed was not the most comfortable we've slept in. It was what I expected, however, my husband has a bad back and felt it was not supportive enough to his liking.

Pros: Staff is incredible! Service was the best we ever had in a hotel. Access to bikes, kayaks make the visit to Boston such a perfect experience! Rooms are nice and cozy!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location for getting into Downtown Boston for someone familiar with the city
Cons: It might be a little most challenging for someone who doesn’t know the city to deal with the transit options to get to and from the hotel
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very friendly, professional, and accommodating. And the rooms were very comfortable.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I loved everything -- the king sized bed was comfy, the room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. I like to walk barefoot on the carpeted floor and my feet didn't feel dirty afterward, as they sometimes do with hotel rooms. I don't know if it was just not a busy season, but I heard no noise outside of the room. The staff was so friendly and helpful, and I took a quick bike ride using their bike loaner and it was really very nice.
Cons: The location is a bit on the outer edges of Boston and far walk from the train, so we just used a cab the whole time. Also the view I had was inwards towards the building (not outside), but it really wasn't that big of a deal.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel, charming, clean and comfortable, conveniently located near MIT (with Harvard 2 miles up the road and Boston U across the river). The staff went above and beyond, and Kimpton hotels have a great pet policy!

Pros: Very clean room. Very nice bed and linen. Comfortable chair.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The view from our room was nice, the staff was very helpful and friendly.
Cons: The cost of the room was high, there wasn’t a complementary breakfast (which was very disappointing for how much I spent for the room), the tiki bar closed an hour early in the common area, and I had to pay for parking in the garage directly below the hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean. Fabulous bed and linens. Hot shower. Friendly helpful staff. Excellent food at the restaurant. Highly recommend
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Love the location right next to the river. The service was excellent. Friendly hotel! Love the fact they provide yoga mats and yoga videos. Other hotels must learn from this!

9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel decoration and style
Cons: Lack of personel touch at the check-out
9.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked the location being so close to Harvard. The room was great and fell a notch above what I was expecting.
Cons: The pool was not part of the hotel but connected and therefore had weird restrictions on kids using the pool.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Met friends for breakfast. Each person enjoyed the food. Hotel location was perfect. I was in town for the unveiling of a plaque for Car Talk's Tom Magliozzi and a celebration in Harvard Square. Late evening, gathered with friends also staying at The Charles for drinks on your patio. Perfect way to end the night. I travel frequently. The Charles is fast-becoming my new favorite hotel.
Cons: Something odd. When I arrived, the room was very clean, but a twig of some sort was on the bathroom floor. Sort of looked like a twig that would hold grapes. I simply discarded it.
6.3 Good
Pros: The format of the hotel
Cons: The accommodations swimming pool and gym were not available Outdoor terrace was not available for breakfast
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location near to Harvard.
Cons: Very expensive.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location is fab, blue bike just outside, easy access to T and Charles river walks.
Cons: The complementary bikes were not great, maybe cause it was summer. But given the Blue bikes, there is no need for it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was in Henrietta's Table - very good with cranberry french toast! Furnishings were classy and windows even opened for fresh air.
Cons: No fan in the bathroom.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The bedding (down comforter, great pillows), and the air quality/climate control were outstanding. The room was spacious and beautifully appointed, and the bed was actually more comfortable than my bed and home (and I'm fussy). The pool was excellent.
Cons: No coffee maker in the room. Refrigerator packed with overpriced bar stuff. I was annoyed, but the NY Times outside the door in the morning put the smile back on my face.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location is brilliant for Harvard. Staff were very helpful. Beds were super comfortable and bathrooms were amazing.
Cons: You do have to pay pretty steeply for the quality.

Pros: Location is perfect. Comfortable place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is fantastic. The staff are very helpful.
Cons: There’s nothing I can think of.
5.8 Okay
Pros: location only.
Cons: Whoever designed the place was a moron- paper thin walls, slamming doors- you can hear every conversation in the hallways.
