Cons: Car still had bottle of water and paperwork from previous renter in it. Return was unnecessarily difficult. Site was closed and entrance blocked off. Had to call toll free number for directions. I was on hold forever before someone came on. In the end I parked car in driveway and walked into compound to put key in Dropbox. Then I had to get an uber to the airport. Lovely.
Cons: I had to cancel my trip due to the coronavirus abd shutdowns in San Francisco and Los Angeles and Sixt was the only supplier that failed to give me 100% refund. They assessed a 3-day penalty and only after my complaint gave me a voucher for the amount they assessed. I live in Thailand and it is doubtful that I can use the voucher within the deadline forced on me.

Pros: Good deal on the convertible car for the day. Employees were helpful at Union Square at time of visit.
Cons: My reservation said to pick up my car at Fisherman's Wharf but the car wasn't there so I had to go to Union Square to pick it up, but the employee at Fisherman's Wharf told me I had to call customer service myself and let them know I was coming. Then at Union Square, the employees had a difficult - lengthy - time figuring out how to switch everything for me to rent the car. Overall it took 2 hours to rent this car when most of the time was spent waiting. Not employees fault, the system seems to be partially broken.
Pros: Nothing! Because of the COVID-1 virus we had to cancel our trip I called Sixt rental and they canceled my rental but would not talk to me about a refund. I had to email them. I've emailed twice and still have had no reply. Once on 3/14/2020 and again on 3/28/2020. I will never rent anything from such a sorry company again.
Cons: I will never use Kayak or Sixt ever again. In a time like this to completely ignore their customer is a shame.
Cons: Trip was cancelled due to the coronavirus epidemic. Company wouldn’t give me a full refund on car, even though cancellation is beyond anyone’s control.
Pros: Flight was canceled. Never received refund if the car rental Poor communications after initial contact.
Cons: Will never do business with this company again. Booked reservation early in the year, but had to cancel it due to San Francisco being on full lockdown due to the Coronavirus. The company would not refund the charge, which I had pre-paid. They offered a credit. Other car rental companies allow you to cancel, if given ample notice, with no issues, even when there is no pandemic. This company sucks! Don’t give them your business!

Cons: Worth noting that at SFO, unlike many other places, the rental car place for most other car companies is on site but a long tram ride away. For Sixt you take the long tram and then take a shuttle so it is like two different transports although the tram is at least predictable. Not a huge deal and kind of nice being off the premises I guess.
Pros: Excellent customer service at the station.
Cons: Getting to the Sixt station at SFO is a bit of a hassle, with irregular shuttle buses and disoriented customers trying to get ahead of each other.
Pros: Very friendly staff who knew their cars, helped me think through what would be the best car for my needs and addressed my concerns thoughtfully.
Cons: It was a little hard getting the car back before 7PM but that was mostly due to heavy traffic.
