Pros:Staff was friendly.Cons:A bait and switch was pulled on me, and I was very upset. I put in my search that I was looking for a car to pick up at SEATAC. Without me realizing it, the site switched to the downtown Seattle location for pickup (which I didn't realize since I don't know the address on either location). I went to SEATAC to get the car and was told I had to go downtown to get it. I had to call my son to pick me up and take me to downtown Seattle to get the car. I had requested a compact car, and by the time I got to Seattle, they told me the only car available was a Toyota 4Runner. This was a big problem since I have a leg problem that caused me great pain getting into the 4Runner. The customer service guy told me I could change it out when a sedan came in, but two days later I was told that all they have is SUV's because of the winter weather. I was finally able to drive back down to Seattle on Tuesday and trade for a RAV4 since it had a much lower profile and was easier to get in and out of with my sore leg. The customer service guy was extremely nice and set it up so that I could turn the car in at SEATAC when the rental was over. So overall, I had to get my son to take me to the Seattle location, and then I had to drive back down to get a smaller car since I was stuck with a huge 4Runner when I had requested a compact car. This was definitely not my best car rental experience!Reviewed Mar 8 2021

Pros:Monica and Nathan were excellent at Sixt at SeaTac. They really saved the day. I had arranged for a Premium SUV, and even called when making to reservations to be assured that I would receive one of 3 different cars depending on availability (the one I signed up for, or 2 potential alternative “similar” vehicles). Of course when I get to the rental desk, they magically do not have any of the 3. I was extremely aggravated, because Sixt has pulled this trick with me (and others) on several occasions. They get you committed to pay for a higher level of rental car, and then they don’t have it, and give you what they say is a “similar car”. The “similar car” is never similar, and usually could have been rented for less then what you agreed to. That’s why I called in the first place; to find out what the “similar cars” were. Of course they didn’t even have the similar cars that they told me they would have a replacements. I was not pleased. Monica arranged for another SUV, but it really was not on par with the premium SUV that I was promised and I had paid for. Added, this different SUV was too large for our in town accommodations. With the help of Monica and Nathan, I was able to arrange for another premium SUV that was comparable (but not originally offered by Sixt as a replacement).Cons:Sixt needs to stop playing shell games with their customers. If a certain vehicle is rented, they need to have that available. Always having to offer “similar” vehicles is a scam, and the customer always gets the shaft. This has happened 3 times now for me when dealing with Sixt. I will be reluctant to rent from Sixt again.Reviewed Oct 24 2019

Pros:Pick up and drop off went very smoothly. Staff recommendation to purchase gasoline with Sixt panned out, hardly any gas stations offered better rate.Cons:I did not get the car I requested, and instead got a rear wheel drive which was not ideal for the wintry road conditions and gave me some concerns about driving through stevens and Snoquamie Passes.Reviewed Jan 2 2018

Pros:Cadillac XT5 was excellent, I had originally reserved a mid-size SUV Rav4, etc. Caddy was an upgrade, oddly the exact same thing happened last year when I rented from Sixt in Seattle when I ended up with virtually the same model Cadillac SUV.Cons:Website didn't mention/wasn't at all clear that rental pickup was in downtown Seattle 30 minutes from the airport! Uber cost me $50 to get there and I had to pay a $50 upcharge to drop off at airport at the end. I also purchased add'l liability insurance online from Allianz approx. $100 on same Kayak site and the Sixt rental rep told me at pickup that Allianz doesn't cover Washington state???? She says it says that clearly on the Allianz website. It should've been obvious to Allianz that they were selling me insurance for a rental in Washington. I felt like a Allianz had scammed me! Not a good feeling and reflects very poorly on the Kayak site to allow Allianz to do this.Reviewed Jun 18 2017

Pros:The car was great. We had a Toyota Camry and it was roomy for our family of 3 and had good trunk storage. It seemed to have good get up and go for the mountains and got reasonably good gas mileage. I would rent this type of car again. Also, the company seemed very far as they didn't go over the car with a magnifying glass to try to find a way to charge us if a pebble came up and hit the car. We took very good car of it and left it with no new scratches but I always worry with some companies. Sixt did it right.Cons:The car was a little pricy at $700 for 13 days.Reviewed Aug 2 2017

oregonCons:clerk informed me that the vehicle could not be driven to (from washington) oregon. nice. maybe state that explicitly as opposed to hiding it in fine print. when i conveyed that i would change plans to keep the vehicle in state, the clerk said that due to the fact that i was still driving to oregon, but lying about it, he needed to cancel the reservation. infuriating news at 4:00am at the airport. the bargain is not worth it - pay more for the certainty, and absence of loopholes, and absence of trashy serviceReviewed Aug 24 2017

Pros:Quick and easy pick up / drop off. No hidden fees or surprises.Cons:Our rental had never been clean (ever). For a 2020 model with 15k miles on it, the vehicle's interior wasn't only filthy, it was starting to have significant wear and tear. Being in Covid times, I'd expect a little more attention to cleanliness, if at all. The floors of the vehicle were especially filthy, therefore it's evident this car hasn't been cleaned, ever. Crumbs, used tissue, plastic wrappers. Disgusting. Ironically, we returned the car cleaner than we received it by just wiping down the dash and steering wheel with wipes.Reviewed Sep 20 2020

Pros:The car was very clean.Cons:With everything that is going on in capital hill right now, I did not want to have to go back to capital hill to return the vehicle. I explained this to Sixt and asked if I could please return the car at the end of the rental at the airport instead (20 min away) and they would not let me do this without charging me $67 for the “change in drop off location”. The funny thing is that the staff at that Sixt location were telling me how no one was renting there since the hotel was closed so they kept having to drive cars over to the airport location. I was extremely disappointed that the company was concerned more about charging more fees than the safety and comfort of their customers. I am never going to rent from Sixt again after this bad experience.Reviewed Aug 3 2020

Will never rent from Sixt again!Pros:NothingCons:The attendant told me I had to have a return flight ticket in order to rent. After I had prepaid 3 months in advance, they then said that without a flight ticket stub I couldn't take the car. I walked 1 mile at 6am to pickup the car from our tour bus, the attendant was probably 16 years old. She had no options to help me and looked at me with a blank face. By far the worst rental company I have ever used. After 2.5 hours my friend finally got them to switch the payment to his credit card and we were able to leave with the car. Also not the car that I had booked. A much larger car that used considerable more gas than what I had booked. Rates were through the roof that day so thank god I convinced someone to go on the trip with me or I would have had to cancel a climbing trip up Mt Rainer that I had planned for 6 months. I will NEVER use this company again.Reviewed Aug 4 2017

Pros:Ended up with a SUV (GMC ACADIA) that was large enough for Four adults with luggage. Great rep in the garage helping to resolve a terrible mix-up. Easy to find lot on pick-up and drop-off.Cons:I requested a large Volvo 90 and called to confirm I had it. This was affirmed. I called again three days before pick up and was told they did not have them (SEATAC OFFICE..) This was AFTER I called the national office (very nice representative) and was then referred to the local office. There was no answer and after 10 minutes it looped back to the national office. The national rep agreed to send an email to the local office with a summary of my issue. Later that day a local SEATAC office rep called . When we arrived on the pick-up day the desk rep told us the VOLVO 60 would not be large enough and we should upgrade to a Mercedes for an ADITIONL ten dollars per day! We upgraded BUT when we got to the upgraded Mercedes we found it was no larger then the Volvo 60. Thankfully we were able to work with a terrific young woman in the garage who was able to get us a SUV which met our needs very well. It is sad that this could have been resolved at the very start .Reviewed Jan 10 2016

Pros:The car once we got it was perfectly lovely. Their policies however are not listed anywhere on the 3rd party sites. Also they close earlier than the other places. Make sure you have the same card you booked with and are ready for an additional deposit fee of $200 and change.Cons:The people working the front desks clearly were unhappy to be there and were less than concerned with any customer service. It wasn’t until (after almost 2 hours) the downstairs attendant cared enough to help solve our problem and get us on our way. The upstairs desk attendants simply sent us down stairs to avoid working with us after they couldn’t explain any of the polices or help sort out the situation. While the downstairs attendant/manager was amazing it would be hard to justify booking with this company again- and certainly never through a booking site or 3rd party.Reviewed Mar 22 2021
