Pros: Easy and convenient, lady at the front desk was so nice and helpful. We were in and out and leas than 10 minutes!
Cons: The car was so smooth and didn’t know the car was on but it’s a hybrid, we got used to it.

Nice cars for good value
Pros: I reserved an economy car for a week and was given a Kia Soul which was very roomy, fun to drive, and, at under 14', still qualified for the lower Seattle ferry fare. All staff were friendly, efficient, and really responded to my needs. Convenient downtown location. Easy in/out of the parking garage.
Cons: The only negative was the hard water spots on the windows.

Fast service in an easy location
Pros: The person at the desk who checked me out was prompt and very courteous. Pick up took maybe 15 minutes total from when I walked in the door to when I drove off the lot. Drop off was equally as fast.
Cons: The car didn't have cruise control, but I didn't think to check on that before I rented it.

flight was canceled
Pros: My return flight was canceled and rescheduled 8 hours later, with a 2 minute phone call Alamo was very nice and extended my rental because of when I picked it up it was even at no charge. Also the girl at the drop off was super courteous and helpful strange how someone doing a good job has become increasingly rare.
Cons: Directions to return car to SeaTac could be a bit more clear and maybe a note as to where gas stations are to eliminate driving around the area to fill it up.

they mixed up my license number
Cons: they gave me a hard time when I dropped off the car in Portland because the rental place in Seattle messed up putting in my driver's license number. something about the same license number across two different states. bottom line - I don't care, it was your mistake, don't drag me into the office while you try to figure out what went wrong, I've been on the road all day, let me get to my destination. If something is wrong, you have a credit card on file and can contact me later. To be fair, the manager was good, and the initial contact who took the car when we pulled up was good. the "middle level" person at the desk was looking at me like I was some kind of criminal. They gave me all the wrong information on the sheet in Seattle, and attempted to charge me extra (the wrong person's car rental info). Also, picking up took a while, and they seemed unsure of which car to give me. I booked a rental car online, paid for it, it should be done and dusted, hand me the keys and walk away.

Charged extra for less
Cons: I am from Houston and due to Huirricane Harvey had to drastically change my trip around. Evryone worked with me as far as Airlines and hotels. I paid $264 up front for 8 days. I had to shorten this rental to only 5 days. They wanted to charge me $1,099. After explaingin the situation they di bring down the fee, but I still had to pay an extra 33 dollars. Which still makes no sense to me whatsoever. I will never use Alamo.

Portland PDX Alamo - Unhappiest Place On Earth
Pros: 2017 Toyota Camry
Cons: The management was rude and dismissive. A snag in our rental reservation had them telling us "good luck" an escorting us away stranded in Portland essentially canceling our family visit to central Oregon and road trip back to Seattle. The "assistant manager" felt like handing us his business card and saying he would pass along our frustrations to the corporate channel while attempting to walk us back to the airport shuttle was more appropriate than stepping behind a counter and even touching a computer to look at our reservation. Calling the 1 800 customer service number connected us with someone who actually cared and walked us through picking up our rental but PDX staff continued to be a nightmare. Overall, completely rearranged our trip with zero remorse and nearly doubled the cost. Will not be recommending to anyone after being treated so poorly by people that should be customer service representatives.

Cons: No need to upgrade or get any bells and whistles the way the staff may try and sell you on

Bald and flat tires
Pros: The cars were nice and clean. Nice staff at pick up and easily got the car and was set to drive on my 2 week, one-way rental to Los Angeles.
Cons: We thought it was strange when we picked up the car it only had a half tank of gas, but since it was our first time renting we weren't sure if that was normal or not- turns out you're supposed to have it filled when you get it. It wasn't a big deal because we were in a hurry. However, after the first day we noticed how bald the tires were. I mean, so bald there was no tread and the metal wires from inside the tire were clearly showing. We had a 2 week rental and were traveling from Seattle to Los Angeles. I'm appalled they would send out a car with tires in such terrible and dangerous condition, especially for a renter who was driving so far. After having the car for 4.5 days a chunk of rubber came off of our passenger side tire, but it was still holding air. At this point in our trip we were camping on Mt. Hood in Oregon with no cell phone reception. The next day we had a flat driver's side tire and had to put the donut tire on ourselves, since we didn't have service to call Alamo's customer service. When I could call customer service they suggested we drive to Portland to exchange our car. It was well out of our way to have to exchange the car and ruined a full day of our trip- let alone the stress of driving down a curvy mountain afraid of a tire blowout. Once I exchanged for a different car at the Portland Alamo the new rental worked out fine but had not AUX input- which was inconvenient. My advice is check your tires. Do not trust Alamo to make sure your rental vehicle is in safe driving condition.

Airport drop offs have never been so easy
Pros: We drove the car into the lot. It was very well labeled and easy to find. Dropped our keys off and gathered our things, while they recorded mileage. No paperwork to fumble with or anything. Them we took our luggage to the pick up area and they had a shuttle waiting to take us to the airport.
Cons: The crosswalks should be labeled better when crossing in front of the lanes off traffic.

Pros: the rental agent at downtown Seattle location was helpful-- a lovely freckled redhead who genuinley cared that the car I had chosen would work for long-distance one-way rental. She showed me features and seat configuration that I was familiar with, and that was above and beyond...
Cons: to add Satellite radio after the rental period started, I had to physically walk up to another Alamo location just to activate it. Phone people would not activate it as an extra when we called.

Great value and quality
Pros: Generous collision policy. The 2017 Camry SE we rented had 1187 miles when we picked it up. During our trip, its rear fender was very lightly scratched. I filed a claim with my insurance to be ready to provide the claim number to Alamo, but the team there decided to that the scratch was not significant and advised me to cancel the claim. Price was also the lowest for a full size car.

Pros: The customer service was the best I have had in a very long time! The staff was very friendly and cordial. The car ran very well and it was extremely clean. Pick up and drop off went on without a hitch. Loved everything and will use the company again!

Car was great, some fees weren't accurate.
Pros: Car was great.
Cons: It was hard to find the place. They didn't indicate that the tank wasn't full when I left, so they charged me for several extra gallons of gas when I dropped off.

5 star service AND nice vehicle too
Pros: Car pick up was as promised - lightning fast. Drop off was equally fast. Vehicle had only 16 miles on it. Great experience!
Cons: Location was at the garage above and not the actual office below. I always think those tidbits should be included in the "location information" when you rent so you have a heads up.

Good customer service
Pros: Dennis Zapata stayed late to process our rental even though the office was closed and Anna Edwards responded quickly and generously to an issue with the cleanliness of the vehicle.
Cons: Info on office door showed it was open to 7 but it closed at 6!

bad car, unexplained charges
Cons: The car was awful to drive, uncomfortable seat, awkward steering wheel positioning, the auxiliary audio input didn't work, it doesn't have cruise control, the steering was loose and not very responsive; I know it was a compact car but I've driven other compact/economy cars that were so much better than this one. The pick up was fine, good customer service and I was in and out fairly quickly. The drop off not so much, the customer service person was not friendly, I handed her the keys and she looked at me like "what are you still doing here"? Then she asked me if I wanted a receipt and I said "Yes please". She didn't speak another word to me and then typed up the receipt and handed it to me, no eye contact, no words. The receipt was for around $83 which was the estimated total cost when I reserved the car so that was nice. But then the next day I got another charge for $24.01 with no explanation, no e-mail, no phone call, no nothing. What was this charge for?! The car had more gas in it when I dropped it off than it did when I picked it up. The car was clean, I even picked up some trash that was in it before I picked it up. There was no damage, I returned it hours earlier than I needed to. This was a terrible experience and I will never use Alamo again.
