Pros: Ability to drop off anywhere.
Cons: Needed to extend for a day due to bad weather and they took advantage by over charging the extra day.

Did not honor my confirmed booking - no car, no ap
Cons: Had made a booking weeks in advance! It was confirmed. Day before the booking, I receive a voicemail from a blocked number - it's hertz local branch manager, notifying me that they do not have a car for me - basically telling me not to bother coming . Did not even leave me a number to call back on . I called the corporate hertz number multiple times seeking their help - Long story short , they were zero helpful and basically told me that it's up to the local branch manager . They even failed to connect me with the local managers phone number . In my last call , I was told that the local branch manager would call me first thing in the morning to sort it out - did not receive this call . This was the worst car rental experience of my life . I don't even know who to complain to... completely ruined my trip over the Christmas weekend .

Pros: Car was an upgrade. Clean. Transaction was generally straightforward.
Cons: This Hertz location was locked and empty when I arrived. It seemed the employee had stepped out (perhaps for lunch). The # that was on the sign was clearly just the # for inside the location. The employee arrived about 20-30 minutes after I did (about 20 minutes past my scheduled rental start time, to be fair). Other than that, the service was friendly and helpful.

No car available, even though I had a reservation.
Cons: Spent over an hour on public transportation to get to the rental location where I reserved a car, and when I arrived there were no cars available because the "system doesn't register how many cars are available, therefore you are not guaranteed a rental even though you have a reservation". Basically Hertz lets you reserve a car online without actually confirming they have a car available for you at the location, or at all! Very disappointed in Hertz and their lack of adequate software which results in lack of customer consideration.

Pros: Everything was fine except one thing. See next box.
Cons: We were told we could return the car up to 5 p.m. on Friday. However, they closed the office at noon, and we had to go all the way to the airport to leave it or else be charged for the extra two-three days of the weekend. Luckily we were able to get it to the airport, but only by inconveniencing the people we were visiting.

I Cannot Rate the Rental Based on Above Criteria
Pros: It was going to be pretty affordable
Cons: I didn't actually end up getting the rental because Hertz called that morning, as I was on my way to pick up the car, to tell me that they actually did not have a car available for me. I had to rearrange my entire weekend plans because of this.

Canceled at the last minute
Cons: Only hours before I needed the car, Hertz called and told me that none were available. I had to find a different rental service, where there were other people in line because Hertz had canceled on them, too. Totally unacceptable.

Cons: Looks that Hertz were false-advertising by posting a low rate under the downtown location and then telling customers to pick up the cars at the airport office.

Pros: I liked the location and the staff. Nice individual attention. Car was adequate and clean.Hertz. I would definitely use this particular Hertz office again. Staff was friendly and accommodating.
Cons: Did not like the sales pitch to upgrade. Also, the bill was a lot more than "estimated" by the staff. However, after I asked them to check their figures, and corrected for the misunderstanding about a "free" additional driver, the price actually went below the quoted price.

They navigate system was terrible
Pros: The Navagator was so slow and could not keep up. And almost caused me many accidents. It also was overpriced.

Pros: Car was clean and fit the needs for our weekend.
Cons: We requested a drop off online at 3pm only to be told when we picked up the car that they closed at 2pm. We had to scramble to change our Ferry reservations and plans. It took WAYYYY too long to get our car. Stood in line for 45 minutes with only 2 people. Also, every other sentence out of the person's mouth was trying to sell me something. Other car rental services have been MUCH quicker. Also, paid for an "upgrade" which apparently means something without an automatic locks or cruise control. Not a great experience.

Didn't rent - horrible service
Cons: Rude service. Went to Enterprise up the street instead, who were more than willing to accommodate us when we needed - not when they felt like it.

I didn't get the car I asked for
Pros: The car was clean and got good gas mileage
Cons: I had reserved a compact car. What they gave me was a downgrade -- a Toyota Yaris -- but insisted that the car was in the same class as the one I had reserved. I don't think so! They wouldn't refund the price difference. There was also a loose piece on the left rear of the car that flapped violently in the wind at freeway speeds, forcing me to keep my speeds under 60 mph.

Car Rental Deception
Cons: So I rented through Kayak and carrentals.com, and was quoted an $81+ cost. When I got to Hertz, they did not honor that reservation. Instead I paid almost twice as much. DO NOT RENT FROM HERTZ THROUGH THIRD PARTY SITES.

Hertz schemed us. BEWARE! !!!!!!
Pros: We booked a 2 day rental through kayak. Nowhere on the kayak website (or hertz website for this matter) it said that the driver name and name on credit card used for paying must be the same. When we arrived to the hertz counter they refused to give us a car or change the reservation (even though hertz customer service said they could) and told us we had to open a new reservation. We were in a hurry to get to a time sensitive reservation so we went through with it. All of a sudden our 133$ original order bulged up to 315$!!!! And they schemed us to get insurance telling us the renters insurance we got from Allianz will not cover the new reservation (total and complete lie, but we were in a hurry and they took advantage) and also implied that the insurance is mandatory. When we returned the car we confronted the manager (rude one named theresa) and she said that all conversations are recorded and she will check if it's the case. Less then 3 minutes later she came back (no way on earth she located and listened to the conversation) and told us that we have been explained and that we are done for (so we wont be able to rent a car from hertz again-like we ever gonna...) Do yoeself a favor and STAY AWAY.
Cons: The manager theresa, and the way she and her associat schemed us.

Smooth, quick rental drop-off and pickup
Pros: Short, sweet, to the point. Good check-out and return time.
Cons: The Nissan I rented had a small issue with it's heater blower motor being very noisy when turned up to high. No big deal, otherwise the car was perfect.

Hard sales pitch ineffective
Cons: Hard sales pitch for insurance, gas unnecessary and left a poor impression. Unaccounted for taxes increased final price dramatically. Could have been communicated better from the beginning.

No service agent at rental car location for drop-o
Pros: Car was new and drove fine.
Cons: Car was not cleaned very well. When returning car, no one was at the rental location to take car, so I left keys in after hours drop box. This was on a Monday at 4pm (well within business hours).

Very efficient, helpful and fast!
Pros: Both emplyees that I had contact with were so polite , efficient and fast and helpful! They did their job like they loved what they were doing and took pride in themselves and their business.
Cons: There was nothing I didn't like.

Pros: The pick up at the Kent WA location went smoothly and quickly. The car was fun to drive, easy on the gas, and cute to look at. The return went very quickly. The agent opened my car door and called me by name. The final bill was exactly what was quoted. I will use Avis again thru Kayak as it was the best price ($255) for a week in Seattle in August.

Cons: I booked the car for pick up at the SEATEC Airport instead I found out that KAYAK booked the car at the downtown location. Hertz wanted me to pay 2.5 times what I was quoted to change the reservation. I had to book the car thru Alamo for a very reasonable price.

Pros: Ease of rental, got lucky with a brand new car, nice features, easy system for pickup and dropoff.
Cons: Had to walk a bit from the airport to the mariott location as I didnt realize it was an off airport location. However it still turned out better than expected in spite of this.

Pros: I like that it was very economical on gas.
Cons: the rental fee was more than what I had expected . they said that the taxes were not included and the deposit was 150.00 and the guy at the counter kept wanting to add more fees which I did not need.

Pros: Car was ready without any hassles; staff was friendly and helpful. Charges on our credit card were exactly as we expected. No problems!
Cons: rush hour traffic in that location was a negative but not a deal breaker (comes with the territory)...

Cons: They didn't have Inventory at the specific rental site. They tried to send me to a different site despite double the price. During this whole time, their website was still showing availability at the advertised lower price. Attempts to resolve the issue thorough speaking to a manager were met with unreturned phone calls.

Pros: everything else was perfect, car ran great, and got us to our 3500 mile destination safely.
Cons: the website does not have accurate rental store availability times, and there was a bit of confusion on the date of pick up.

Great value for money
Pros: Great new car, quick drop off, straightforward and hassle free. They charged me the amount quoted online exactly, to the penny.
Cons: The pickup location was hard to find. It was in the back of a building that used to house the Hertz office in the front, which meant that when I got there it looked like the Hertz office was abandoned and no longer there. It took a while to figure out that it had moved to the back; there were no signs or anything.
