Initially the vehicle was great but the maintenance and oil change light came on.Cons:
Vehicle maintenance been up to date, I tried to contact roadside assistance and was on hold for a half hour. I got different answers from everyone I talked to.10.0 Wonderful

When I picked up my car it had a terrible body odor. It smelled like a high school locker room, and no matter what I did, the smell persisted—it was deep within the linen of the car seats. Opening windows in an attempt to air the car out did nothing. I bought febreeze and sprayed the upholstery of the entire car TWICE. I even bought fragrance sticks to put in the air vents. Nothing worked, and after having the car for almost a week, the smell was still there when I returned it. Also, when I got the car it wasn’t at a full tank. I was given a rental that only had 1/4 tank of gas in it.8.0 Very good

Our minivan was given away, they gave us an suv that was too small for my family, it had no gas, was not cleaned and smelled like smoke. Front desk was no help.10.0 Wonderful

Could have been better by actually having a car for me. Avis ran me around saying I didn’t pass a soft credit check. I got my bank on the phone because there is no way I wouldn’t pass. Avis could not tell me why or what they were checking for. I tried to rebook-they had NO CARS IN THE AREA2.0 Poor

You wrote a review for Avis Rent A Car 2 days ago 1.0 star rating 7/25/2018 An unbelievable event that is stranger than fiction. I made a reservation on 6/28/18 for a 3-day rental of a full size car in St. Louis, MO, beginning yesterday, 7/24/18. Yesterday, before making my flight to St. Louis, I realized that the reservation had been made for a location off the airport property, so I called the corporate customer service number to see if this could be changed. It turns out the PGA event in St. Louis left no cars available at the airport. I thanked the agent and ended the call. When I got to the off-site location (via Lyft but no fault of Avis), the agent there told me my reservation had been changed to June of next year in Alaska for a SUV vehicle! I called the corporate customer service number and explained my dilemma, and they said they could do nothing to change it. Because of the PGA event, this off-site location was out of cars (except for the one I had reserved but then lost due to the change in reservation). I filed a grievance and asked to be called by a supervisor in 24 hours. No call. No car. No help. So I have been stuck taking several Lyft rides to my business appointments. Unbelievable.2.0 Poor

There was no attendant for 25 minutes at this location. They also denied renting a vehicle to me after I had called to make sure they accept a debit card. Worse experience. Ended up having to take a flight. I will never rent or recommend Avis -particularly this location 2925 Olive street, saint Louis MO.Budget
