Cons: I got lost trying to find the elevator but that experience added to my sense of security (and awe) while staying the hotel.

Pros: The hotel has been recently renovated, so everything was brand new. Note that only half of the hotel is the "historic" part, now the other half is new. That didn't bother me at all. There was a very nice, upscale feel to the whole place. The staff were wonderful - very nice and accommodating. I stayed one night and when I came into my room after being out, all of my lights weren't working - a breaker had blown. When I called the front desk, it was taken care of within 10 minutes by a very polite maintenance staffer.

A good location too--we were able to walk to many of our destinations right from the hotel. Staff were friendly and very helpful. I needed a cab one rainy morning, and asked at the front desk if they could call for one. Instead, the bellman grabbed his umbrella and went out to the street, down to the nearest busy corner, and whistled up one for me. Above and beyond!

Cons: The location was just okay - I walked from the closest Metro (Mt Vernon/Convention Center), and found myself walking along a street with boarded up houses. I wasn't taking any shortcuts, this was one of the main streets by the hotel. This wasn't too much of a problem for me, as I used Lyft to get everywhere and didn't do much walking at all. But it is something to keep in mind if you are making a reservation here.
The only other thing was that my bed was very firm. That's a total personal preference, but did interfere with my sleep

Cons: Our room was small--would have been perfect for a single guest, but a little cramped for two. Just one bedside table, for example, with no room for a second. We would have liked a king bed, but one evidently wasn't available--again, perhaps a size issue. Last, half the wardrobe cabinet was taken up by a room safe and refrigerator pre-stocked with candy, soda, and alcohol, so there wasn't quite enough room for two people to hang our things. And yes, no iron or ironing board. We didn't try the meal facilities. We'd stay again--the pluses outweigh the minuses.

Cons: Housekeeping forgot to clean our room in the morning so we had to call and ask that they come at night when we were out to dinner. The pillows were also really too soft without much support. And we didn't realize until we got there that the overnight parking fee was $59 per night....kind of a lot when you gross everything up we might have been better off at another hotel location with less expensive parking! Once you are there though you are stuck with it. Ugh. Next time.

Cons: Room wasn't ready when we arrived (even though we noted online at check-in), then wasn;t ready when they said it would be 3 hours later.
Room wasn't cleaned until I called at 4pm after our first of 2 nights.
In room dinning was delicious but both times we ordered, part of our order was missing - even when we called to notify, they said they were sending it, and it never arrived.

Pros: I liked the proximity to everything - an Uber was never more than 4 minutes away! Plus you're in walking distance of a lot of places including the metro. The beds were super comfortable and I liked that most of the rooms had a separate magnifying mirror.
Cons: The floors are hard to navigate and easy to get turned around. With an injury I had to find a room closer to the elevator. When I changed rooms, I still had TO WALK to both my old room and the new. No one had an indoor golf cart or something that would make changing my room location a little easier, physically. The handicap accessible rooms had way less closet space and were less clean since they are not used as often or as regular, the beds need their mattresses turned - one bed was quite 'slope-y' on one side. Not every room has a separate magnifying mirror and the ones that do are not tended to in a way that a rusty spot doesn't form on the counter top underneath it.

We were so disappointed the bar only plays music and the TV’s are muted. There were other guests also asking to hear the game. First staff said they can’t play the TV volume. Then they said they would try but there was no one in house that knew how to. We certainly would have spent the time at another establishment. I’m glad I wasn’t hearing impaired. No one on site even knew how to put on subtitles to follow the story. Didn’t expect that negative experience.

Pros: The hotel was nice. I stayed on the top floor, in the back, which was quiet. It’s a basic hotel, so there were not too many things I could critique. Overall it was decent, and bar was small and intimate. I parked using the Spot Hero app, which saved me a lot of money. Gone are the days when I pay $45-$60/night for parking. I paid $45 for the whole weekend just down the street.
Cons: I didn’t like the pillows (personal preference) and the door knob to the room, which was very hard to open. How would handicapped people open the door? Also, I didn’t see any recycling, a must in today’s world. The room could use a refrigerator.

Room prices should not have been $200 per night plus parking with the construction. Room had an outdated feel. I would love to stay again in a few years when they gut and renovate the entire hotel.

Pros: From the moment we stepped out of our rental car the hotel staff was friendly, courteous, and helpful. We had just come in to DC from two days of flying and driving and right away the hotel staff made us feel right at home. They carried our bags, helped us with transportation in DC by pointing us in the right direction, and even gave us apples on our way out for the day. We had never been to DC and have 2 small children and did all the sight seeing we could pack in for 2 days. The location of the hotel was great. One night the weather was great and we all enjoyed the walk through the city back and forth from the Washington Monument. It is quite the walk, so if you are not up for it we also took a cab and used Lyft in which every place only cost about 10.00 to get a ride to and from the hotel. I also feel compelled to mention that maybe it was the look on our faces when we stepped out of our car after the long traveling experince with 2 small kids, but whatever it was they upgraded our room to a balcony! I think her name was Elena that offered the upgrade, and it was very much appreciated!

There's not enough light by the mirror for makeup, they need to have a movable mirror that you can take to the desk. Only one of the bedside lamps worked. One of the elevators was down, so it sometimes took a long time to get to the room.

No inhome laundry service. We walked in from the rain soaking wet and they said they didnt have a dryer in house.

Cons: My only complaint is that the windows really need to be replaced. The up/down casement windows tended to slide down from the top, which let in a draft. Also, they are single-pane, which allow every noise outside into the room, and I was on the 7th floor. Tuesday morning trash pick-up was especially vivid, and a construction project that was a block away sounded like it was next door.

Pros: The location is tremendous! I loved being able to hop onto the metro and get to all of the tourist locations/museums around D.C. It is only a 5-7 minute walk to the White House from the hotel. The staff is very friendly and will try to accommodate you with anything you may need. The price of the hotel was superb considering the location, amenities (free pop/snacks in the lounge), and the atmosphere the hotel creates for travelers. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to D.C.!

Pros: We went to DC to celebrate my husband's birthday for a long weekend. We looked for a long time online and a lot of the offering was overpriced for the amenities available. The Club Quarters was a great find!!!! The staff was very helpful throughout our stay. There is an espresso bar on the 2nd floor!! We were a few blocks from all the greatest attractions, walked to every site. Never had to take a cab or the Metro. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and will come back. We found a gem in D.C. and will be recommending it to our family and friends.

During my stay, there been a rowdy bunch of Middle School students who were staying for the weekend but as soon as I called up the hotel staff to complain about the noise at 8:30am, security sorted them out within half an hour. The hotel employees then even called me up again to make sure I was alright. I really appreciated their attentiveness.

I should have parked my own car. I feel that the hotel was nervy and rude to charge us double the going rate for parking - without notifying me. I felt taken advantage of, since we were already paying top dollar for a 1 night stay. The hotel was nice, but not that nice. I stay in DC all the time, but I may not return unless this problem is rectified.

Pros: I really appreciate the quality of the room I stayed in as well as the staff. During my stay, there been a rowdy bunch of Middle School students who were staying for the weekend but as soon as I called up the hotel staff to complain about the noise at 8:30am, security sorted them out within half an hour. The hotel employees then even called me up again to make sure I was alright. I really appreciated their attentiveness.

We got the King Room with the vaulted ceilings and was everything we expected and more. Wow! those robes are nice and after not going ahead and buying one the spot I finally just broke down and ordered it. Staff at the front desk were very courteous and helpful and that extra touch of remembering that I had called earlier to inform them that we would not check in until after dinner was nice. Pros: I loved my stay at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco. Our room was on a quit floor, spacious with high ceilings, a seating area, and a fully stocked minibar. The hotel is centrally located so easy to walk to nearby restaurants and museums.
Cons: The pillows were not fluffy, more flat leaving my neck sore the next morning.

Pros: Great Hotel. My wife and I stayed here for valentines/anniversary. We were very pleased with the service from start to finish. We got the King Room with the vaulted ceilings and was everything we expected and more. Wow! those robes are nice and after not going ahead and buying one the spot I finally just broke down and ordered it. Staff at the front desk were very courteous and helpful and that extra touch of remembering that I had called earlier to inform them that we would not check in until after dinner was nice. (Hey I know its in the computer but its nice to hear the words). We will definitely return again.

Pros: Very pretty interior and rooms. Quiet and clean. Easily accessible to majority of things within walking distance.
Cons: Our fridge was broken so we were not able to store any leftovers or extra bottles of water. There could also be more power outlets and/or usb outlets available as well.

Pros: The staff, lobby, bar were very good and comfortable. The resturant was average.
Cons: The room was small since the building was converted to a hotel from the post office. I stay with the Kimpton chain all the time. The room was very small for 2 people and 2 21 inch suitcases. However, it was functional. I rete the hotel 3.5 starts.

Very small rooms, When booked my daughter"s family and I requested same floor, preferably next to each other, we weren't and they couldn't accommodate us.
