I flew Jet Blue on my return flight from LA to Boston to attend our son’s USC graduation. The flight from Boston to LA was on an American Airlines flight. The seats were super narrow with very cramped leg room. To add insult to discomfort , I learned just after take off on the American flight to LA that our dogs got loose at home and the person caring for them was frantic. I had to purchase in flight WIFI ($16/ hour $18 for the entire flight) to attend to the Lost dog issue (hugely stressful) only to learn after the flight that $300 worth of fraudulent charges occurred during the flight that my bank’s fraud department claims occurred as a result of entering my card information to purchase the internet access. That depleted the majority of our travel budget. (We live paycheck to paycheck and had pinched & saved to be able attend this special event) I was so apprehensive on the returning flight and can’t describe my relief to learn the WIFI was free. My fears dissolved as did my aching head and back as I settled into a wonderfully comfortable seat with far more leg room than my prior flight. Thanks Key Blue! You have a fan for life!!"

The knob to control air flow was broken which made it chilly. To finish as I started, a more engaged and pleasant crew could have made all the other things more palpable and acceptable. They were just too cold, like the temperature in the cabin and distant."

My wife, 2 year old son, and I was boarding at the gate and they couldn't scan my son's boarding pass. They quickly went over to the computer station and gave my son another pass. We went to our seats and found out someone else is in our 2year old seat. Apparently they gave the seat to someone else at the last second because up to the point when I printed our boarding passes at the kiosk, our seats were still together (and I paid $41/per seat extra to try to keep us together). The other customer was nice enough to switch with our son so were able to stay together at the last min so it goes to show AA priority and service."

Very stressful, and it didn't help that the gate crew was extremely rude and unprofessional. It is very inconvenient that we could not choose our seats beforehand."

NO BACKUP CAPTAINS or 1st OFFICERS AT LAX? Then miraculously during our 3rd hour waiting for a Captain they discovered the 1st Officer was going to time out. So, rather than KNOW this while searching for a Captain, they waited for 3 hours and then had to find a 1st Officer to fill in. Result 2.5 more hours of delay. Even the Flight crew was in disbelief on this one. I think we should all get reimbursed and triple miles for this snafu. Not weather or mechanical - just poorly managed time -- BY A MAJOR AIRLINE - INEXCUSABLE!"

Cons: "The process for vetting those individuals with basic economy tickets is slow, inefficient and seems to make the United employees irritated and less willing to help their guests. While I do not want to see the price go back up, I do think United needs to figure out a way to handle the check-in process for those with basic economy tickets without forcing them to stand in a line with those checking bags. it slows down the check in process for everyone, including those at normal priced fares."

I stand in the gate line for Premier access and the gate crew lady asked me to go and pay for a carry on bag in a very loud voice and asked me to get out of premier access line. When I asked her to take a look at my premier access status, she said stop yelling. Then another man in a suit walks in and first word out of his mouth is not an apology, but a threatening "Don't yell". I just kept walking away from this unqualified person lest it goes out of control. United needs to do a lot better. Just because these gate crew people feel stressed out, they should not take on innocent travelers. Instead of putting a customer under a defensive position, they need to learn to respect the customer. United is training their crew in a wrong way.."

I've flow with you folks 20 years and its always been a hassle. She was asked to move to the back of the plane (seat 32) a middle seat...where she was sick the whole ride so you could do the "shuffle" of passengers....it's poor business practice. When I have a choice I fly SW now."

TSA was disorganized, technology not working, calls for help from TSA officials went unanswered. It seemed strange to me that the airport of our nation's capitol would be so unprofessional. I felt like I kept encountering very unhappy and not so customer-focused staff. Flight itself was fine."

Yes, perhaps I could have been more careful in the middle of the night while making a mad dash from one flight to the next. But how is it possible that Frontier can scan my ticket and not notice that I'm about to board the wrong flight? How is it possible that their computer system didn't alert them that I was about to board a flight for which I did not have a ticket? It seems more likely that the person who scanned my ticket wasn't paying attention."

I thought they had good communication around the fee for carry ons (in the boarding process, they directed people to go online and pay the fee there if they'd already to avoid a higher fee at boarding). Staff were friendly and for a short flight (<2 hours) I felt it was perfectly comfortable, and I'm very happy with my decision given that the flight was <$100 and direct."

Cons: "I tried frontier for the first time and I will never make that mistake again. To be fair part of this is my responsibility, I should have done more research into exactly how much the extra fees were going to cost. After it was all said and done I spent more traveling with frontier than I would have with American or Delta. They charged for absolutely everything. Here is where they truly lost me as a potential return customer. They allow you a personal item as long as it fits under your seat but will charge you for a carry on. The personal item I had on my flight out to Denver did not cost me anything, however, the exact same item on my way out of Denver was now deemed a carry on item by the ticketing agent and cost me $45 to carry on. Not only was I being extorted but the attitude in which they were doing it was completely unacceptable. Had I known, I could have saved some money and paid on line for the carry on. Changing the rules of the game and providing me no remedy when I ask about the change in policy by responding, "I'm saying its a carry on" is why I will never fly frontier again. Do yourself a favor and spend the money on the front end because frontier will find a way to squeeze it out of you on the backend. And will expect you to smile and thank them for it."

It seems, too, there is a real effort to get the seating finished so the flight can take off on time. Plus, each leg of the trip arrived at least a few minutes ahead of schedule! Shout out, too, to the boarding gate desk people in RDU, who graciously accommodated my request for a seat change so I could keep my bad leg on the aisle side"

Also, it is clear that your airlines prey on those who follow directions as I saw handfuls of people walking through the gate with their luggage and not being charged, my boyfriend/travel companion for example paid nothing for his luggage, disregarded all memos via loud speaker and walked on with his unpaid for luggage. The experience with spirit was undesirable in every way and I will never chose this airline over another (luggage in hard or not) after the poor experience and being completely ripped off. I plan to share this message with social media and yelp sites as well."

Before signing up for a Spirit flight, make sure you add the cost of checking carry-on bag, getting a seat assignment, getting any water during flight, boarding (yes they up charge for boarding). Then, make sure you factor in the small size of the airline which makes it far, far more vulnerable to weather delays - fewer planes, fewer pilots, fewer re-routes available. Also, add at least an hour to the end of each flight to get your bags if you do check them. So, you don't save money or time, and you're very vulnerable to weather and mechanical. With their organization this bad, I can only imagine how weak their mechanical is."

No Spirit employee was around to help avoid it. This wasn't a real big deal but some airlines avoid it with a simple announcement, asking those who haven't been called to remain seated. I would suggest Spirit does something similar. I don't like all the extra charges, for example for a second carry-on, but I get it, it's your way of offering cheap flights. I gave the food and entertainment only 3 stars just because of the charge, I didn't actually purchase anything."

The staff was also very rude and told me this why hispanic people have a sterotype. On my arriving flight I was double charged for my carrying on and backpack. I was told that I would need to pay for both but when I went into the gate that was not the case and I saw that my backpack met specifications to not be charged. When I paid the fee the attendant took money out from her brasserie to give me change and then pocketed the cash and when I asked for a reciet she said the computer system was down and on my boarding ticket it did not have that I paid for a carry on so I was given a hard time at the gate. When I explained what happened they said okay as if this shady stuff is acceptable. I was then delayed in the air for 2 hours and rerouted to detroit to get gas. We were told to hold tight and not allowed to use the restroom for an hour to then be told we had to deboard for an addtional 2 hours. This is horrible and I will continue to speak with someone until I get a refund."

Cons: "This was one of the worst flight experiences of my entire life. I had to pay almost $200 in extra fees, which included everything from checked bags, carry on bags AND seat selection. Their website is awful! It took me over 2 hours plus 2 customer service phone calls before I was able to check in for my flight. Completely disorganized at the airport. Under staffed. We arrived 2 hours early and barely made our flight. We were in lines so long we barely had time to use the restroom, let alone find any kind of food for the flight. Upon boarding, I witnessed one of the flight attendants being extremely rude and hostile to a female customer who was talking to her friend about how bad her Spirit experience was. A supervisor came back and instead of reprimanding the rude flight attendant, she told all of us that if the flight attendant didn't feel "comfortable" with any of us, we would be "removed" from the flight! The flight was delayed because they closed the cabin doors before 10 additional customers were able to make it through their ridiculous lines. Instead of apologizing for their incompetence, they blamed the customers for being late, despite the fact that at least one of them initially arrived at the same time we did (2 hours before the flight)! Oh and the flight itself was rickety as hell with screaming babies everywhere. I'm absolutely DREADING the return flight home. This is the worst airline ever and should be shut down as soon as possible."
