Spoiler: it isn't. I have NEVER had to pay extra for a carry on based on its value. I was tired and had been traveling since 3am. I asked for a Coffee to wake up and was informed that they are NOT complimentary. I asked what snacks or beverages they had that were complimentary and they informed me there were NONE. Zero. What? I only had cash on me (my card had been lost in traveling days before) and I asked if they would either let me pay cash or be willing to just this once offer me a free coffee. They flatly told me no. It is worth noting that I was kind and courteous throughout learning this. I didn't take any frustration out on the flight attendants. But I was deeply disappointed. I'm am exhausted traveler on your airline in a bind without my card. Can you please just be kind and offer me a coffee on the house? Nope. Sigh."

After I purchased the 2nd flight, I called within seconds because I noticed my mother’s name was on the ticket instead of mine! I had previously purchased her flight and somehow the kayak site had auto populated her name, i know for a fact did I did not type in her name, it is longer Han mine and has a middle name, i don’t even have a middle name. I think it was justfly, the third party who sent the confirmation email, I explained the situation, they took my contact information and since I had just called they would reach out to Volaris to see if they could change it to my name, and would reach back out to me within a few days. They never called/emailed me back. When I called Volaris they charged me a name change fee off $80+... I don’t know if anyone cares about customer service at Kayak, I have been purchasing all my personal flights through Kayak since 2007, this is by far the worse ticketing/airline experience I have ever had. Also, Volaris charged me $10 for my backpack that I store underneath the seat in front of me! They are a terrible airline, that straight out rips people off. This is the last time I fly with them, and probably last time I use Kayak."

I understand we all need to take off ASAP, but they've got to understand if everyone was standing at the gate, there would be no room to stand so we all disperse and know we can check our smartphones for updates."

They had 5 agents working to handle 5-6hundred passengers. There was only one agent walking the floor answering questions. He was nice enough to me but in his frustration, he was very rude to other passengers. People were getting nervous that their planes were boarding and they still hadn't checked their bags. This caused people to try and cut in front of other people in line and of course those passengers became angry. After finally getting through that mess, we got to our gate in a different terminal (which was also confusing because our boarding pass said terminal 3 which we went to first only to find out that we needed to go to Terminal 4 to check in and then walk over to terminal 3 to board). Once we boarded the plane they told us that the computer system was down so they could not put in their flight planes so they let us off the plane. We re-boarded the plane and finally landed home around 2:00 in the morning. By the time we got our luggage and drove home (20 minutes) it was 3:15. Overall Stinky!!!!!"

I had asked the staff at the gate in newark what I should do and they reassured me I would make it. I then approached the flight crew and told them my situation and they also reassured me it would be fine but I landed in fort lauderdale and my connecting flight took off. I then had to go from terminal two to terminal three to get a new ticket which Spirit did not pay for or even have. I also had to stay in a hotel that night that was $150 with not even a % off was offered. I understand that weather is not in your control but then the people at the gate and the flight crew should not have given me false hope without even contacting anyone else. I was on the way to see my fiance who is in the U.S. Navy, who had been deployed and I missed his coming home. The only good thing I have to say about Spirit is that your crew in Fort Lauderdale working the tickets were very nice and calm even with the line out the front of the terminal and around the side of the building. This is a problem I ran into every flight of Spirit I have flown, complete under staffing of the ticket lines. I will never fly Spirit again and I will never allow my family to either."
