Take the shuttle from atop 9 to terminal 3 if you are transferring from a domestic 1
Verified travelerFlew with Japan AirlinesHND-SFODec 2024
Get to the airport early because ground transportation to/from takes time and patience. Horribly crowded airport takes time to understand if one doesn’t understand Japanese language. Transfer time from previous flight was obviously not long enough and yet this was what booking service recommended
MinFlew with United AirlinesHND-ORDNov 2024
I initially thought Delta, however after comparing schedule to RDU, I stuck to United as it offered the most workable schedule (arriving not to late, not to short transit time given the waiting in the immigration)
AnnFlew with DeltaHND-SEASep 2024
Just pick any Asian carrier that still knows customer service
Verified travelerFlew with ANAHND-HNLNov 2024
Make sure to buy whatever you think you’ll buy at the airport at the store bc terminal 2 is fairly new so there aren’t as much stores and restaurants as the other terminals in Haneda .
VictorFlew with American AirlinesHND-LAXOct 2024
Make sure to eat before you get on, as the food options aren’t the most appetizing.
YANFlew with Hawaiian AirlinesHND-HNLSep 2024
The japan airlines flight was too warm, it was uncomfortable.
DevonFlew with Japan AirlinesHND-JFKAug 2024
I would suggest to have access to an empty seat so you can lay or stretch a bit haha.
KarlFlew with Japan AirlinesHND-LAXJul 2024
Not much that you can recommend, maybe instead of flying to Los Angeles, If flight to San Francisco, or Seattle. Those would be shorter trips and not so much time sitting in the plane.
HasanFlew with ANAHND-LAXAug 2024
Advertising ANA operated by United is deceptive. ANA service and comfort is top notch so I booked the flight, but when the plane, service, seats, et al is United, the experience is severely diminished. I will not fall for it next time.
CarlosFlew with Japan AirlinesHND-JFKJun 2024
Avoid JAL if you have children with severe allergies.
Verified travelerFlew with United AirlinesHND-SFOMar 2024
I have not flown other flights to Tokyo, so I have not much to add here. I did appreciate the option of a direct flight to your destination. Having to connect to another flight is at minimum a 2 hour add to your traveling time to an already long flight. Even though a connecting flight you have been more economical, the saved time will s worth the slightly extra cost to me.
RickFlew with United AirlinesHND-SFOMay 2024
Haneda Airport was most convenient for me. My friend lives in Chiba so Haneda was closer to drop me off. There was a monorail if coming by train, so that came be convenient too. Check in was a breeze and also ANA accepts luggage forwarding service from our hotel which made it more convenient too!
ShannonFlew with Hawaiian AirlinesHND-HNLApr 2024
The flight from Tokyo to Honolulu was great! Good food, great service great atmosphere. The flight from Honolulu to Sacramento was a completely different story from the food to coldness the attitude of the flight attendants and of course, the unfortunate episode And how it was handled
GriffinFlew with American AirlinesHND-DFWApr 2024
Make sure it's a JAL operated flight. AA is not good. I have never had a good experience flying back to the US.
PremsriFlew with Japan AirlinesHND-ORDJan 2024
Get business class if U can! Download your own entertainment especially movies before hand. There are even less choices than the outbound! BTW, my outbound connection was horrendous. Fortunately Haneda airport is spacious and has lots of seats, couches.
KyleFlew with DeltaHND-MSPJan 2024
Get to the airport early. Do not purchase basic economy tickets.

Bring a blanket. The flight went by too fast!

Flight from New Delhi to Tokyo was mediocre. The seats were not of business class as we are used to. They were not wide enough. On the other hand the seats on the flight from Tokyo to San Francisco were excellent every thing were great except the food. Tokyo business lounge was excellent. The whole experience was great except the food on the plane. Will still fly JAL.

The entree wasn’t very good. The rice was soggy. The side dishes were all good though. The breakfast was also good. The crew were excellent, as usual.

The flight attendants were excellent as usual however the meal wasn’t the usual good quality. There is cooked rice was mushy.

This portion of the trip from HCMC to Dallas was operated by American Airline. Unfortunately they are 2 steps below JAL in overall quality. Regardless, AAStill got me where I needed to go on time.

This flight was leg 2 of 2 leg journey. The staff at baggage re-drop in Tokyo were fabulous. Once at gate when time to board, had to take standing room bus to the tarmac to board. Did not like getting out to plane and having to wait 5 minutes until they opened bus door.

Allow gold card holders (Group 1) to board with their guest like other One World carriers do

Website from the 1990s, super frustrating customer support, inflight experience merely OK - more like United than e.g. Emirates

The seats are significantly more comfortable than US airlines and the staff are much friendlier. The food is also much better, as they are particularly accommodating to any dietary restrictions.

Could had been better if they include in their menu some western food.

They 7 seats in one row for Business class while most business class for other airlines are 4 seats in one row. the seat was narrow. the Toilet was so smell, dimming light, no water out of faucet. Terrible.

Fine except the person next to me took up her seat had raised the arm divide so she spilled into my seat. because of her size. Fortunately no one was in the seat on my right so I could use part of it.

Delta is my preferred airline. I've traveled with them for years. On time in most cases, good communication, easy to use app. Most planes are pretty nice. I was on a CRJ 700/900 however, which was pretty badly aged inside and needed a refresh. No infotainment, unreliable wifi, best to download before boarding or bring a book. Food choices are really just snacks on this flight, nice variety but about what you'd expect. Great staff and prompt in departure and early arrival too. Overall quite satisfied.

Crew was friendly Love the entertainment in the seat head rest.

Delta flight was on time, seats were comfortable, and crew was nice.

This had nothing to do with Delta… The flights were on time and flawless. The service was excellent. We purchased seats in (aisle/middle) comfort plus since this was a cross country flight. Unfortunately, the woman seated at the window was 300+ pounds and, as might be expected, covered up about a third of the middle seat also. there was absolutely nothing that Delta could have done about that… I just don’t know what the answer should be. If you purchase a seat, you should should be able to use the entire seat and not just the portion that someone else is not sitting/oozing in. Disappointing…there should be something that could be done….I'm just not sure what solution could be.

Delayed take-off. Very small plane so very scary with lots of bumps during the flight. Would never fly Delta on short flights in small 80 seaters plane again! Felt relieved when landed.

Delta is a cut above the others in customer service.

The worst part was I was NOT allowed in the lounge even though I was holding a first class ticket and have a premium American Express card. I have flown Business or First Class with many airlines. Delta is the ONLY one who does not extend this courtesy to anyone except people who hold the very expensive American Express card. As a result, I won’t fly Delta if I have any other choice.

A little bumpy ride . No food was being provided due the the turbulence. That was ok it was a short flight to my standards.

Simply outstanding. Their new lounge for Delta One customers is a cut above the rest.

The departure gate was changed from C1 to B18 but it was never announced at the C1 gate nor did I receive any email or text message or phone call about the gate change. I was in a window seat. In the other two seats next to me were Mr. Rotund and Ms. Rotunda, a youngish couple. Just the two of them should have booked three seats. I was smashed up against the wall and window for five hours. Overall, I'd say my flight sucked. Wouldn't you?

I couldn't get checked in 24 hours before either leg of my flight. I tried both my Alaska and Hawaiian codes on both apps.

We moved from the international terminal to a new location. I think there are still some bugs to work out . We didn’t receive check in notification and had to scramble to find it but i think it will work out

I'm was impressed with their service. Everything was great

All in All a great experience. Cost of luggage sucks … first time I ever had to pay for luggage. Otherwise the check in counter was awesome, the gate clerks were great and the Stewards & Esses were the best.

As my daughter was boarding the flight they pulled her from the line and told her, after she had checked in and checked a bag, that she could not board the flight due to a fraud flag on the debit card used for the ticket purchase. The personnel would not allow me to speak to them, saying I had to take it up with customer service that was not present. They tried to get my daughter to purchase another ticket on the spot or get out. The customer service personnel were insistant that the personnel at the gate be on the phone which they would not allow. Would not accept payment from three different accounts and did not resolve the issue. Many conflicting reports about the source of the problem, the fraud department is uncontactable. The only good thing to come of it was checked bag arrived. Our family will not be using Hawaiian Airlines. Ever.

Great staffing. Terrible food. Please do cold sandwiches or salads. the "hot pickets" are terrible.

Love Hawaiian you can’t go wrong, still provides you good drinks and little snack at the end

No tv’s. Had to walk 45 minutes to connect to next flight. Couldn’t get dinner as a result. Ended up eating pretzels until I felt sick.

Not so good. The takeoff was aborted after reaching 100 knots due to a problem with the front tires. I do commend the pilot for a quick decision and preventing a potential disaster. We returned to the gate to put fresh tires on the front. Our flight was delayed for over 3 hours. The rest of the flight was okay. We were reimbursed by Hawaiian Airlines for only $50. Not too generous

Our flights got changed from United to Air Canada and our purchased seats did not get transferred so we had to pay for seats twice. I brought it up with Air Canada and they stated I had to go back and chase it with United. The united seats were $21 Canadian each and Air Canada were $56 each so we have paid $77 for each seat. Very unhappy

A bit rush for transit. Food and entertainment are not available

So far so good but food and entertainment are not available for this flight

Multiple delays and not straight answer from the United team

Stewardess spilled orange juice on my clothes/seat no help no apology just threw napkins at me to clean the mess up. Not Happy.

Smooth flight. Boarding was chaotic. Could not hear the gate agent over the intercom. People were lined up in the wrong lines. Groups one and two were told to board through line one and group 3 through line 2. All very confusing. Once in the air, the flight was smooth. There was no entertainment option on this aircraft, even though it was a larger aircraft.

The plane pushed back from the gate on time. However, it stopped on the ramp, and we waited for over 20 minutes before the aircraft pulled back to the gate. Apparently, something of importance had to be removed from the aircraft by the gate agent. I found this to be odd. The delay was not significant, but I felt that whatever was on the aircraft that had to be taken off, should’ve been done before we pushed back from the gate.

Electric plugs didn't work. Entertainment system wasn't working

The design of the light switch on the arm rest is ridiculous.

Smooth boarding process. Early departure, smooth flight, early arrival. The entertainment package has very good recent movie options. The flight crew were friendly and professional.

Paid $35 and not able to access the internet at all.

Several delays. Next flight was worse. Did not arrive home until 2am PT

Very helpful ground crew after an earlier flight delay and being rebooked on a different flight.

Everything about the flight was lovely…We left early, arrived early, cabin crew were efficient and helpful. Flight was easy and most pleasant.

First world problems, but still… We were seated in first class and asked for a cocktail on a very short, 50 minute flight. After our drink order was taken, a half hour went by, and we noticed that every other person in the small plane had been served except for us. We got up to ask about it, the drinks finally came, then were taken away three minutes later since the flight was so short. Really strange situation, on the other hand, we were in Utah.

We missed our flight. The boarding pass had the wrong gate and by the time we received the text from Kayak, our flight was already gone. I’ll never use Kayak again and will go direct to the airlines in the future.

Boarding took forever, the plane was cramped and cold, and the seatbelt song came on constantly throughout the red eye flight with a loud pre-recorded message playing each time

Cabin felt crammed Snacks are lame But crew was super efficient getting us out on time despite delay

Flight was delayed bc of mechanical issue. New plane had different configuration so some seats had to be switched. They called all passengers who needed new boarding cards. They did not call us so we thought our seats were the same and fine. When we boarded they informed us our receipts had changed and we are now all sitting separate and in the back row. Both my daughters had meltdowns and started to cry and once we got on the flight, we figured out how we could sit closer to each other, but this was very upsetting.

Took off on time and successfully avoided weather that looked to be a problem along the way
