The car itself was fine, when we got in to get our car it was 1am. The customer service took an hour to just get our car with only 3 people in line. There were 3 to 4 employees and only one was at a desk taking people. It was super frustrating as no one seemed eager to move things along. It of course didn’t help that I had two crying/tired children waiting in the lobby the whole time.Reviewed May 22 2026

I waited in line at JFK for over an hour from 10-11am on a Friday morning to pick up my pre booked vehicle. It was a shambles - so very slow to process each customer. Never had such a wait at Hertz? That said, staff were ok, car was clean enough (not showroom condition) and have not yet returned so can’t comment.Reviewed Jul 12 2025

Intially I saw the reviews of Avis on google and was really worried that I chose the wrong rentals, but to my surprise I actually had a good experience. I pre checked in and was able to pick my car in 10 mins, which was very convenient.Reviewed Jan 6 2025

I received a hybrid that had less than 10 perfect battery life. I did not enjoy the car for the entire first day of rental because I was afraid to drive it due to the battery life being so low. I had to find someone willing yo place an app on their phone and then drive out of the way to locate a plug in that I had to pay money to charge the vehicle up before I could comfortably or safely drive anywhere. The battery was not self charging as I drove it and there were no instructions on charging time,location ,etcReviewed Oct 26 2024

Staffs were friendly; however, the lines at the pick-up location were very confusing. I wasn't sure which line was for people who had reservation. I figured it out in the end by asking people who were in lines. So, better signs for directing the customers to the right place would be a plus. Again, all the staffs were very friendly and helpful, and I really appreciate it (I was with 3 kids waiting for the car at around 1 am). Drop off was easy. Again, staff were very helpful. I arrived in time at 2 AM to pick up my car to be told by the staff that they no longer have any cars and there is that there is nothing that they can do for us!!!!!!!!
