Tons of hidden fees and then they hide behind booking through a third party to avoid accountability. One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had truly. Also I was straight up lied to by the agent and told I had paid in full only to find I out I owed another thousand dollars upon returning the vehicle. Truly devastating experienceReviewed Oct 1 2026

Ling wait time to pick up a car. >60 mins. No seating in waiting area because it was overcrowded. I really wonder what the whole Presidents Circle experience is about. I’ve never experience it.Reviewed Sep 11 2026

I returned my car and afterwards received an incident report via email showing bumper and license plate damage. The damage was so slight I didn’t notice it. Luckily I always take a video of rental cars before I drive off the lot. In the video it proves the damage was already present on the car upon pickup. It’s been a week and they haven’t responded. My husband and I rent cars about 6-7 times a year and usually we have no problems. This is the last time I rent from hertz.Reviewed Aug 9 2026

There was a long wait to receive the car. The car arrived with a cut tire; luckily I noticed it before leaving, and they replaced it quickly. One of the windshield wipers was also faulty.Reviewed Feb 26 2026

The Hertz rental office in JFK seems to be severly understaffed, I had a thursday night rental (not during any major holidays) and it took nearly three hours to get my car that was reserved and pre paid for. The employees were strugling to keep up with the demand, but to their credit, they remained composed and for the most part profesional despite being obviously exhausted. Hertz needs to staff that office properly.Reviewed Jul 28 2024

No issues with car. Price could have been better. Unacceptable long wait at pickup rental counter due to not enough staff.Reviewed Oct 12 2022

Was traveling to NYC for Christmas and had to cancel because of the COVID spike that is going on. Even a family member has COVID. I could cancel the hotel reservation and flight without penalty. But having to pay $100 penalty for a rental car even when it was informed of the situation that is out of my control is inhumane. Not going to use this service ever again.Reviewed Dec 25 2021

Everything was fine, except at pickup, as always being pushed by the sales person for paying additional insurance. Always a very disgusting dialog.Reviewed Dec 7 2021
