No 24-hour drop-off option and Avis hotline was not helpful
Pros: Fast drop-off
Cons: Could not drop off car once the branch had closed Had to pay for overnight parking ($44) Location was busy and bit chaotic

Pros: Drop off very easy
Cons: Waited in line for over 60mins to get the car. Tank was only 1/4 full despite being told it would be full Car had been very cursorily washed and windows were wet but dirty

Pros: Pick up and drop off from NYC E.64th location were seamless. Great customer service. Will definitely be my top choice for future rentals

Great Service at Counter in NY
Pros: Please thank the Jamaican lady in NY who helped us out. She was really excellent and knows what customer service is all about.
Cons: There was a soda bottle in the car when we picked it up. Obviously it wasn't cleaned.

Cons: I received 2 email confirmations and I made 2 phone calls to Avis confirming my pick up in NYC, and my drop off in Port jervis. When I arrived at my drop off location, there was a hand written note on the door saying they were closed for the entire weekend and wouldn't be back until Monday. There was no drop off box or instructions on how to drop off this car. Why did Avis confirm my drop off at Port jervis if the location was closed? You need a better handle on drop off locations that just decide to close without notice and screw people over like me.

Disorganized, slow customer servcie
Pros: Nice car
Cons: The two customer service reps at the counter were terrible. It took close to an hour for me to obtain my rental, when there were only a few customers in line ahead of me. I observed one employee spend 30 minutes processing one rental. The other rep tried to serve three-four customers at once. When I finally reached her, she told me I was in the "wrong line," refused to serve me, and I had to go to the end of the "right" line and start all over again. Does Avis not follow "best practices?" In a seemingly automated reservation system, the customer service reps seemed to have to enter a lot of data by keyboard.

Pros: Got a Nissan Rogue which is a nice car.. but...
Cons: The car was filthy, inside and out; the gas tank was not full; the air pressure in three tires was low.. they said they'd give a 40 dollar refund but then gave only 30 plus added a 10 dollar fine for nothing. Not to mention waiting 30(!) minutes for them to open on a Friday morning... a real shame for Avis.

Good car renting company
Pros: The car was new and clean, the deal was great, even for different pickup - drop off locations.
Cons: Long line for pick up, taking every coming preferred costumer ahead of us, wrong business hours info on website in Doylestown, PA location (Sunday).

I had given up on Avis, but now I'll be back
Pros: Great service, fancy upgrade, car in great condition, great locale.
Cons: Avis Garage dude was lazy AF and couldn't be bothered to even explain where to go. I had to ask the main garage lady and she was like, Oh, yeah, they're not very helpful. Here... and it was fine. Fortunately, pickup lasts only a few minutes.

Pros: The location was very convenient for us.
Cons: Returning it to the New York branch was ridiculously hard and the staff didn't answer the phone when we were trying to tell them that we'd be running late. How do you just NOT answer the phone of your place of business?!

Got where Iwas going
Cons: Details, like the use of the easy pass, was not explained. The car I was promised was not available so I had to pay for an upgrade or wait for my rental. Enterprise rental would have upgraded me for free.

Pros: I liked nothing about the service marketing was misleading
Cons: We set up for a rental they asked for payment and license information. Credit cards are under my wife's name she holds no license. We were using my license they booked our pick up for 6am. We arrive at avis to be told credit card and license must have the same name. We couldn't get the rental and were told the pre paid amount was not going to be refunded to us.

Cons: The car we reserved because we had 7 passengers and language was not available and we were only offered a different category car that did not take our luggage, noting that we had to put our luagge with another car. Completely in acceptable.

Pros: even though pick up took too long the agent was very nice and upbeat. When the first car broke down the Avis agent in Danbury, CT was more than helpful
Cons: the first car should have been taken out of service it was not clean, only 1/2 gas tank full and broke down

Cons: Wasn't able to rent the car because I had a debit card. When I asked if my boyfriend could come and put down his credit card and license and rent the car and authorize me as a driver, she said no because she didn't like my attitude. It was a terrible and traumatizing experience. Will never ever try to rent from Avis again.

Cons: I reserved a Cargo van for 7.00 am in the morning - when I arrived vehicle was not there - arrived 1 hour and thirty minutes later. When it arrived it was not a cargo van but a van with seats in it. Whole episode was disgusting - the lady in the reservations booth was polite and courteous but really showed little concern for the problem. Had to go elsewhere to get a cargo van. Ruined my schedule for the day and caused a lot of trouble for me timewise and financially.

Cons: I booked online through Kayak and when I went to pick the car up they failed to mention that I would be charged mileage. So it ended up costing twice as much as what I was initially led to believe.

NO CARS AVAILABLE
Cons: WHEN I CAME TO THE AVIS RENTAL OFFICE ON 11 TH ST (?) THERE WERE 4 PEOPLE AHEAD OF ME WITH ONE SERVICE AGENT. WE WERE TOLD THAT THERE WERE NOT ENOUGH CARS AVAILABLE FOR ALL OF US, AND THAT THEY WERE BRINGING MORE CARS FROM AN UPTOWN LOCATION. THEY DIDNT KNOW HOW LONG IT WOULD TAKE. I CANCELLED MY RESERVATION AND GOT A ZIP CAR. IT WAS A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE, I WOULD NEVER USE THIS SERVICE AGAIN

Cons: most cars didn't have much gas in the tank so I had to rent a more expensive car to get something with a reasonable amount of gas

Pros: The vehicle was perfect for our vacation. The service was outstanding. Would certainly use then again.
Cons: Glad I booked it where I did. The phone quote I was given was double the amount I paid.

Can't rent a car
Cons: Unfortunately, I can't rent a car, because manager of company Avis told me that they don't work with debit card. But when I did reservation my operation was successful. That's why I go to another company and rent a car with this debit card without problem.
