We stayed for 3 nights. Room was small but beautifully appointed. Views off the balcony were amazing of the East River and Manhattan skyline. Very clean and quiet. Highly recommend.
Design. Service. Facilities. Location. Everything
Mo, the evening clerk was very accommodating with our rsvp after some confusion with booking.com. Room is a bit small for the money, parking fee was annoying, this Brooklyn not manhattan.
The concierge was incredibly friendly and accommodating! The décor of the place is funky and fun. The location is perfect for any foodie, music lover, or thrift seeker. The rooms are beautiful and the balcony attached to the room was a major plus. We can't wait to come back in the summer.
The bartender at the rooftop bar-john The snacks in the mini bar were resonable priced The balcony door opens even in winter The bed and pillows were very comfortable Rudimentary tv service. Really a surprise. Wall paper peeling Paint peeling Dimmer switches and some lights broken! This was in January when there were very few customers, and I had paid for a better room. And the dinner from The Elm was terrible. The piece of meat they sent up to my room was an embarrassment. My boyfriend will eat anything and not even he would touch it. Like so many hotels the music system depends on you having an iPhone 4. If you want an adaptor you have to pay $30
The beds were really bad. Light switches are super complicated to use. Overpriced for what it is
Great friendly staff. Very fun scene
The bed was nice and the room was clean Very underwhelmed. For the price it simple doesn't even compete to other New York hotels. The room was fine but for 400 a night I'm not paying for fine.
I liked the location for being in Williamsburg. The staff were uniformly friendly and helpful; so, thanks to Dayana, Justin, Jessica, Martin and James.. for that. The rooms were clean and well kept, if a bit small. But, the size is just something that you have to deal with in the City.. There were just a couple of things that could improve.. we liked our breakfast in the room, but after the first day, we didn't get the door hanger to request the next day's breakfast.. bummer. Also, I know it was the holidays, but the restaurant and bar seemed to keep pretty random hours.. hard to plan.
Nice room, close to the L and G trains, friendly staff
The hotel staff was great. Service is friendly and on demand. Located in a Brooklyn neighborhood, close to restaurants, shops, bars, convenience stores and three short blocks from subway. So there are no surprises immediate area around hotel is rundown, but the neighborhood the hotel is located is typical city neighborhood with friendly people. Sal's Pizzeria, 544 Lorimer St delicious and friendly. I felt safe when arriving from subway from 11 pm to 3 am. Free wi-fi, breakfast, newspaper and use of computer and printer in lobby. Rooms are small, very clean, very well decorated. Very big plasma hd tv with many channels, refrigerator, and slippers. Great ambiance. Not honeymoon hotel but great vacation hotel. I would not recommend this hotel for a family with young children as there is no facilities for them as the only reason. I was alone and loved it. Would have loved it with significant other.
The room was a bit smallish, but the standard of the room is high. The personnel was very helpful concerning transports to and from airport. The hotel is close to Lorimer Street subway (and then only two stops and you're on Manhattan). The breakfast is ok, but not comparable to what you get in a 4 star hotel elsewhere. Some of the personnel in the reception was not especially interested in helping with questions etc.
the location is excellent and the rooms are well presented and clean. the staff are very helpful + friendly. definitely stay here again.
Pleasant staff, reasonable continental breakfast, nice room.
Good location, near subway L which takes you quickly to Manhattan. Clean room, comparably good breakfast (by american standards), nice personnel, comfy beds. Safe and fridge in the room. The hotel is located near the highway; rooms facing the highway are noisy - bring earplugs!
A jewel of a hotel, very conveniently located near a subway station. The staff and accommodations were wonderful.
Good location for local bars and cafes. Close to Metro.
The rooms were very clean and the little extra touches in the bathroom were really nice, shampoos , conditioners and body products. The bed was extremely comfortable complimented by a perfect selection of bedding. The iPod docking station and 42" tv were also a fantastic addition. A lovely room. The breakfast was also really good to help start your day off. Starbucks coffee :-) very good selection of pastries and cakes .
Cleanliness of rooms and quality of furniture and facilities Checking was not not the best as we were given the wrong room and were told we had to move a couple of hours later after we had unpacked. We stayed but had to pay an additional 30$.
Very, very clean room, 3 minutes from the subway, the room is small but is very comfortable, it was like sleep in my own bed, all furniture are new, with hdtv, safe big enough for a laptop, iPod dock, more than expected for the price. Last time I saw furniture and room clean like this was 5 star Hilton hotel at Fort Lauderdale - fl.
Extremely comfortable with an accommodating staff. Although there was a mix-up with the pricing of our accommodation (in our favor), Pointe Plaza Hotel honored the booking price.
The hotel stuff gave us free upgrade. The room is clean and bed is comfortable. Everything was good but the hotel should provide a better breakfast. Everything taste weird even a banana. How come!!!
I like the area it was very quiet and the staff was AWESOME!!! The walls are way too thin and we had to walk some way to the different trains but not a really far walk.
Clean and good value No complaints
The room was surprisingly large for New York. The beds are identical to Hampton Inn (clean and comfortable). Suite includes kosher kitchen and sitting/dining area. Staff was friendly and helpful. Neighborhood is safe. If you're visiting Brooklyn, this is a great place to stay. If you plan to visit Manhattan much, keep in mind taxi/Uber fares are $30 to $40 one way. Nothing is really within walking distance except the amazing Williamsburg Bagels across the street. I wish we had gone there more than once. If I stay here again, I will investigate the subway situation. On this trip, however, I was traveling with a mobility impaired family member, so we relied heavily on Uber.
Incredibly helpful, accommodating and friendly staff. Reasonably close to parts of Brooklyn worth visiting for tourism. Clean and large rooms. The neighborhood itself has little to offer tourists. Column in the middle of the room prevented joining twin beds together. Few dining options nearby.
The Sumner Hotel were very helpful when we couldn't reach NY due to Hurricane Irene, and they gave us a refund for both nights that we were stuck. So we only stayed with them for one. The room was big, comfortable, clean and was done up nicely. The bathroom was really nice especially the shower! The location was great, right around the corner from the subway, so it didn't take long to reach the city. Perfect for anyone who can't afford the hotel prices in Manhattan.
I was surpised how nice the room was, considering the price and the neighborhood.
Hotel was located very close to Manhattan, was clean and comfortable. Price was very good relative to other similar-quality hotels in the area. No hotel parking, and parking on the street was a real pain. The staff was not very helpful with parking guidance. The elevator was broken and there was no one to help loading bags up stairs.
I planned a trip to NYC but my accommodation fell through at the last minute, so I booked a room with the NY Moore simply because it was the cheapest that I could find. I am so glad that I picked it, for a hostel it is very good indeed. The room that I stayed in was very spacious and clean (apart from a bit of dust on the skirting boards), the bathroom was spotless. The staff are very friend and helpful, and it is very near to quite a few subways; easy access to the city. I most definitely recommended The room that I was shown to by a member of staff the was not made up before I arrived, i had to wait outside the room until the maids were finished.
I liked: 1- parking ease 2- proximity to everything 3- facilities (lounge and common area and coffee) 4- comfortable bed I disliked: 1- internet sucks! 2- staff can be irritating sometimes 3- one of my roomies smelled really bad. Made it tough to sleep 4- lockers could be converted to coded locks to avoid having to bring own padlock.
The facilities were well kept and aesthetically pleasing. the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The hostel is located in a convenient area. It is right down the street from the Marcy avenue subway station, and close to a number of restaurants, bars, markets, and coffee shops. The ceilings are open, so you can hear everything on your floor. It also right next to a subway line. My remedy for both was headphones, but there are earplugs provided at the reception desk.
The staff is always available to help and the different shared spaces are nice. There is no way to set the things in your room. No furniture or closets, or even a chair in the room to have things accommodated.
