Pros: The pick-up in Stamford, CT was very simple and quick.
Cons: The drop-off location at a mall in Jersey City, NJ was difficult to find and then because it had closed I had to go to another drop-off location at Newark airport which would have been fine except there were not enough service representatives so the line was very long.

Pros: Can was clean and had good pick up
Cons: Whether by accident or intent I was sold a daily waiver as a single price (no mention fee was per day). Furthermore was sold phone charger that was redundant with car which had usb, is tithe job of employees to know these things? Car had so so gas mileage and an incessantly annoying "time to rest" buzzer. Terrible sight lines

Cons: The first car was extremely dirty and the interior smell of cigarette.
I've asked the attendant to change cars.
I got another one that was dirt in the outside but at least didn't smell.
The attendant at the checkin had an attitude that can not be compared with the other AVIS
The person at checkout was great.

Pros: Service at the counter was smooth and very nice. Easy pick-up and drop-off. Unlike many other agencies, the cars Were all clean and had a full tank.

Convenient to the Metro North
Pros: Convenient to the Metro North, and therefore a nice cheaper alternative to renting a car in Manhattan.
Pros: It was good that the agent had his phone number and the phone number of Dollar posted on the door of the office so that I could call for assistance.
Cons: When I made my reservation, I had a choice of pick up times from morning until night. I picked 4 PM. Because of travel times, I did not arrive until 5:30 PM, and when I came to the office door, I found it locked and the lights off. The office was inside a hotel, and the hotel staff said no keys had been left for me but that I could call the phone numbers on the door for help. Two of the phone calls sent me to voice mail. The third number was for Dollar customer service. I explained my situation, and the agent explained that I had a provisional reservation, since payment was to be upon pick up, and the office closed at 5 PM (which was not clear when I reserved the car, since I was allowed to select any pick up time). I was transferred for help, and the phone call dropped. I ended up asking the hotel for a ride to the local train station so I could rent a car from another rental company.

Pros: The vehicle was clean in-and-out. I felt it was reliable / dependable.
The office person was efficient and professional.
I have Dollar on speed-dial. ;-)
