Because of Lansing's harsh winter conditions between January and March, SUVs and four-wheel drive vehicles are more suitable, as they make navigating in thick snow and slippery icy roads easier. Renting a compact luxury car is ideal for exploring the city's attractions during the summer months.
If you are driving in a residential area, by a school, or in most areas within the city limits, especially in parks and work zones, you need to maintain a speed limit of 25mph. When driving on the highways and freeways in the city's outskirts, you should maintain a speed limit between 55mph and 75mph. There are traffic cameras at various intersections, with some on interstate 1-96 and 1-496, so be sure to adhere to traffic rules.
Lansing has plenty of parking lots, garages, and on-street parking sections where you can safely park your vehicle. The Albert Avenue Garage is a convenient place with ample parking space that charges $1.50 for 2h. For other affordable parking options, you can leave your car at the North Grand Ramp for $3 for 2h or the City of Lancing Lot 50 at $36 per month. The city has a modernized parking system to make it easier for you to find parking spaces.

Pros:the woman who checked mo out was friendly ad gave me a new suv.
Pros:Staff was very friendly and efficient.
Cons:After I paid to reserve online Avis called and said they had no cars available. I was still charged. Please refund.
Pros:The staff was friendly and the car was clean.
Cons:The staff failed to mention that when I ran my debit/credit card at check in that they were required to run it as a debit even though it literally has a MasterCard logo on it??? I had over 6k in the bank ready for the trip and at the last minute my car reservation is declined? Thanks for that :/ Due to this failure, I had to have my son (who has an "actual credit card" according to the staff) drive from Detroit to Lansing to re-rent a vehicle for the trip. When he arrived, and we went back, they had given my car to someone else and stated that all they had left were something like a Geo Metro. A Geo Metro??? Seriously??? Sigh... So, we made a new reservation and asked if they had anything in the same size of larger. They said we have a Mazda3 but it's $7.00 more a day. So, I paid the extra $70 and renter that car instead. So, the $400 plus price i'd already paid for the reservation that was lost, but the price was mysteriously still available. Sigh... I got the car and then seen I only had a little over half a tank of gas? So, went and filled up the car. Additionally, it looked like moisture had gotten behind the instrument window and was so fogged I could barely see the mph gage. Overall, it was a frustrating experience in comparison to the previous 4 visits when I had rented from the exact location, it went smooth as glass! I rarely write this type of review but hopefully, someone else doesn't make the same assumptions I did and have to go through this experience.
Cons:The car looked like it had been through an infestation of bugs before I picked it up. Windshield was dirty from bugs and the front of the car was infested with dead bugs. The interior was dirty and dusty. I had to clean the car before leaving on my trip. Once cleaned the car ran extremely well and was very fuel-efficient.
Pros:The staff was very helpful. I appreciate the upgrade I received when the vehicle I thought I was getting wasn’t quite road ready. Thank you!

8.0 Very good
Pros:Staff was the best!...provided special arrangements to accommodate our late arrival needs, which was much appreciated...can't say enough positive things about them!
Cons:The rental counter was closed when our flight arrived. Our reservation was for 8pm. Rental counter closes at 7...on a Friday night...when there were reservations and flights still coming in. Poor practice to operate like this. We were only one of many from our flight in the same situation. We had to cab to the hotel and back again in the morning. There was also no snow brush/scraper in the car which was covered in snow and ice when we we picked up the car the next day. The car smelled of heavy smoke. Overall miserable experience.
Pros:Staff was friendly and helpful.
Cons:I wanted to drop the car I rented off in a different site than I picked up from. The fee was ridiculous!
Pros:The Budget facility was convenient and workers were helpful.
Cons:The vehicle had a strong smoke odor, not very clean, and some interior trim pieces were broken. Both of the passenger side grab handles were loose or held on by only one screw.
Pros:The car was nice
Cons:The Car selections were very limited, no options to be exact, kayak needs to let customers know they cannot use a debt card at airport terminal car rental places. I paid more for a midsized vehicle for 1 week than a full size from the same company

Pros:Staff was very friendly and pick up/drop of was quick and easy!
Cons:Only thing that could have been better would be the option to extend the rental online.
Cons:They didn’t actually have a car available for me to rent.
Cons:Rented online for Enterprise pick up at the airport. Arrived and Enterprise said we booked at another location, we were a bit confused. The biggest perk from Kayak was pick up and drop off at the airport. Enterprise did not have a shuttle to the different location. We chose another rental car agency at the airport because it was cheaper than the car rental at Enterprise with the added taxi cost to and from new location. Disappointed with both Kayak and Enterprise.
Pros:Easy Pick Up Easy Return
Cons:It took a while to get the car. I think they were having computer issues.
Pros:The guy in the office says "Sign all this..." Part of which was the inspection. I haven't even seen the car yet at this point. He says, "Sign it anyway and it'll be fine," in his cool guy cocky way. The car was a mess and not even full of gas. Sorry to annoy you, dude, but I'm not signing for something sight unseen.
