A great way to take in Lansing's scenic beauty is by driving around. Expect to encounter some heavy traffic, especially during rush hour, which tends to make navigating challenging. Lansing normally has light traffic, except during the morning rush hour, which is between 7:30am-8am and 4:30pm-6pm, especially on the west and east sides of town. I bought the car through kayak, then upgraded the car when I arrived. Instead of upgrading the first purchase, they charged me for a different car, so I had to pay for two cars when I only used one.
Perfect there was no problem and the service was so quick

Pros:
Staff was the best!...provided special arrangements to accommodate our late arrival needs, which was much appreciated...can't say enough positive things about them!
4.0 Mediocre

Cons:
The rental counter was closed when our flight arrived. Our reservation was for 8pm. Rental counter closes at 7...on a Friday night...when there were reservations and flights still coming in. Poor practice to operate like this. We were only one of many from our flight in the same situation. We had to cab to the hotel and back again in the morning. There was also no snow brush/scraper in the car which was covered in snow and ice when we we picked up the car the next day. The car smelled of heavy smoke. Overall miserable experience.
My rental was fast and easy, gratefully considering it was at the end of a long hellacious travel day. Even though the rental agent was in her first week, it was still a very quick and painless process.

Was given a smaller car than the one that was booked. Space not enough for luggage for an airport drop off.

They told me they couldn't rent me a car without flight information. So if I was your company I would take them off your search list.

Passenger van
I made my reservation 3 weeks early. 3 days before pick up they called to tell me they did not have the van size I needed at that location. They said they would help me find a van somewhere else and they never called me back again. I was very disappointed.

Pros:
It wasn't the locations fault. The staff was friendly.
Cons:
I reserved a car online through a discount dealer. So I blame them, really. It allowed me to make the reservation when in fact the location only had minivans left. The minivans would have cost an additional (approximately from memory) $150 or something. I couldn't afford that. Also this location was only accepting credit cards - no debit cards or cash.
