I think it’s weird that the insurance is through a completely separate company. Hertz asked if I wanted insurance, I said I had paid for it already but it wasn’t on their file. I understand why they didn’t see it, but I think it’s weird. I was second guessing whether I was covered or not / if I did it correctly. It would have been nice if Hertz had know I bought third party insurance I would have felt better (if it was on their file).

Upon arrival at Sanford, the entire Hertz staff was playing grab-ass or some similar game in an office well away from the rental desk. I only know this because I entered from an unexpected door and surprised them. They did not recognize me as a Hertz customer and as a result, I had to wait 15 minutes for their frolicking to conclude. Once they arrived at the rental desk, they were embarrassed that I had seen them screwing around.

When renting, it was not clearly noted that the location was 21 miles away from the airport. I canceled the rental, but had to pay $100, non-refundable. When I enter a pick up location, I expect the options to be at that location. The address was so small and obscure i did not notice it was a significant distance away. Feels like bait and switch.
There was a roach infestation in the band that we rented and we had to throw out luggage is buy laundry soap wash all our clothes at the Airbnb we say that and also had to buy roach spray it was ridiculous and we spent tons of hours going through our luggage is trying to get rid of the roaches we had a 15 passenger van so there was tons of luggage is that we had to go through we spent hours outside of the budget location in the parking lot have fun literally going through each P article of clothing and transfer It’s into garbage bags

Rented a 15 passenger van, it was 3.5 hrs late from when we asked to have it available to use. It had the back seat removed so we could only fit 12 people in it with seat belts and that was not communicated. It also had a wheel bearing that I could hear was going out and caused us to stay close to where we were staying and not go to far from our home base for our vacation.

Good: Sanford airport is so small. I walked right up to the counter for our 7pm reservation to pick up. Drop off was equally efficient. Bad: The woman who helped me to get our car rental was very pushy about add-ons. Specifically, the 11.99/day unlimited tolls. I researched ahead of time, and knew I could take a route to Disney without hitting any tolls. She pressed after I explained that, stating that it was impossible to get out of the airport without paying a toll. The way she was being so pushy, and my unfamiliarity with the area made me think twice, but in the end I declined. I paid no tolls for the duration of our trip, using my pre-planned routes.

Picking up the car was a very slow & upsetting experience. There were 3 people at the counter... 2 seemed very inexperienced & the 3rd kept getting interrupted by the other 2 with questions. The experienced lady kept getting up to assist the other 2... so all 3 lines were extremely slow.

I had been experienced bait and switch with a different car rental office the night before, so wasn’t really feeling too confident about going elsewhere. However, my husband and I were pleased with the customer service at Alamo and appreciated they had cars available for rental.I had to pay $501 for 2 days of rental. Pick up and drop off were very smooth, no huge hold placed on my card, covid precautions were good.Rented a Nissan Frontier-pick up truck, it was pretty base model and not the most comfortable vehicle. Didn't even have a remote entry fob, had to unlock with a key. Was like a car from 1994.

CHRYSLER VAN WAS NICE & ROOMY.I drove down to Enterprise the week before when i made the reservation with KAYAK to confirm they had me in the system.....and they did. When i went to pickup the van Enterprise said they cancelled the order......WHAT!!!!! Representative said they tried to reach me by phone the day before and did not get me to confirm rental........WHAT! I showed him the VMS i recieved and that I called right back and did not get a sole to answer the phone. I told the Rep that most other companies use TEXT to verify / confirm transactions. Glad I saved the VMS & Phone call times. My guess is that they rented my van to another unhappy customer? Manager came out and resolved the issue and had a van delivered from the airport to their site......I had to come back later to pickup the van. Never had much luck with Enterprise and probably will avoid using them again.......always seem shady in their dealings with me.

Cannot believe how long it took to rent and return. Avis is still using dot matrix printers? I could hard,y read the contract. After entering information into the website, I still had to wait while they re-examined my credit card and drivers license. Then pickup location could not find the car....personnel had to got out and push the emergency button to locate car. Drop off was located inside the rear entrance to a mall...my gps could not find this location. Very difficult and not too customer friendly. Again, had to wait at return counter for “paperwork” to be processed. As opposed to Enterprise, Avis is in the dark ages. Check out was easy and fast.I waited one hour at the counter and had my mother in a wheelchair. The counter had only one agent. The car I reserved was a Chrysler 300. They gave me an upgrade which was a Jeep but the problem was it was difficult for me to get my mother into it. There were no other cars available.

I asked for a rental out of Orlando, FL Airport. When I arrived I found out that the car was in Sanford, FL 45 minutes away with no shuttle as promised. I could not get to Sanford to pick up the car and they would not honor the reservation in Orlando's Dollar Rental. It cost me $75 to pay a taxi to get me to my hotel and I never got my rental. Had to pay for a taxi the whole time I was in Florida.Could have provided a car at the right airport.

Dropping off car in lot, I did not appreciate being harassed by the return agent while I was trying to get my 3 pieces of luggage organized, and loose items stowed away, like my GPS. I only asked for 5 minutes, but agent would not leave me alone. However: All in all the best experience I had renting a car at Sanford in a long time.Keys were a wad in my pocket for the entire week. Had to stuff them in a pants pocket wherever I went. How about some thoughtfulness when giving out 4 separate items on a braided steel cord that will not compress flat. Perhaps, give customer the option to "cut the cord" at the counter. Particularly for people dropping off at the pickup point.
