This was worst rental car experience I've ever had. I would never use Dollar again and I will not rent a car through Kayak again. First, they said they didn't have a car. Then, they tried to double charge me when I had already paid upfront. They wouldn't let me pay the deposit using debit card, and even after I told them I paid for the car in advance, they charged me an additional $38 for some type of fee, so I paid nearly $100 to rent a compact vehicle for 1 day! They also made me wait over an hour for a vehicle and I was not the only one! Look online: All the reviews are horrible! They tried to say people stole the cars! Obvious lie! There is security to get in and out of there. No way. Absolute nightmare! Don't use this company, and don't use kayak. I paid for the car upfront for a reason. First, the car was FILTHY when we picked it up. Goo and grime all of the backseat. NO one cleaned this car... even the outdoor car handles were beshmeared with goo/sticky handprints. The worst was we checked the oil on our road trip only to find out that the oil was so low in the car that it was not registering on the dipstick. COMPLETELY dangerous! We ended up having to buy oil so we did not destroy the car. Dollar did not do any basic checks on this car before they rented it to us and basically put my family in danger. Having sufficient oil is a mandatory so you don't end up on the side of the road somewhere. Very disappointed.Reviewed Jul 21 2022

We got to the Dollar booth and there were no employees and 20 customers in line. The hertz people helped check us in when they didn’t have customers but it took an hour to get to the front of the line. Frustrating and not acceptable. Also I was charged $97 in taxes which I assumed were included with my total rental costs. The car was great and I didn’t have any trouble getting and dropping the car once I got through the line.Reviewed Jul 18 2022

There was only one agent at check in who left for his at one point and one agent from the next agency counter had to take over . Longest line and slowest moving line was Dollar . On the plus side , the drop off was greatest ever .Reviewed Mar 18 2022

They keep pushing you to upgrade or saying that you will get a compact car even when they don’t have any compact cars there. My suggestion is to stay strong to your choices and if it doesn’t work, go back and ask for an upgrade.Reviewed Mar 7 2022
