Cons: I ended up not even renting my car through this company. They did not accept my debit card as a form of payment, and the staff was not helpful or willing to work with me.

Cons: To start I was never able to get my rental car to travel out of town. I went to the San Jose air port a half an hour early (7:30 am, reservation was for 8 am) to get my rental, unfortunately do to weather conditions there was a power outtage. Mind you at this time there was no worker at the Dollar Rental counter. Just one person from a different rental company helping everyone in line. After waiting for 30 mins for the systems to come back on, finally someone from a different rental company started sending people upstairs to start the rental process with workers who had tablets, but it would take a little longer. While attempting to get my rental I was told do to the credit card i was trying to use (a pre loaded Visa credit card) I could not rent the car, that I needed a major credit card! Even though, when I purchased the extra car insurance from Kayak online, that money had already been extracted from my account using this same credit card. So I attempted to use my Visa Debit card instead. I was then told that do to my credit score I could not rent a car, and to call the credit company if I wanted more information. After many hours of dealing with a power outtage, waiting in multiple lines, trying to transfer money from accounts in hopes that would help, I was never able to obtain a vehicle. By this time it was 10 am and I was exhausted and forced to Uber home, which I reached by 10:30. All those wasted hours do to a new policy that requires you to either have a Debit Card with great credit, or a Major Credit Card. I was able to call the car insurance company and have my money reimbursed. That was the only good part of this whole situation. I hope in the future there can be a warning on all rental car web sites about this new process that according to the air port workers, has become a new policy in 2017 in the air ports. I'm not sure if this is the policy outside of the air port. I hope nobody else has to endure this kind of outrageous disappointment. I hope web sites will be able to recognize the cards that are being used and reject cards that will not be able to be used (i.e. preloaded credit cards) when trying to purchase a rental, and warn customers if they are using a Debit card that they will be subjected to a credit check, in which you will need great credit in order to get the rental you are reserving. I know this was not to the fault of Kayak.com directly, but I hope this will help other customers in the future. Customers should definitely call the rental car companies directly before completing their reservations.

Pros: Reliable, smooth.

Pros: The car.
Cons: The check in and check out process need to be streamlined. I've used other companies and it takes a third of the time elsewhere.
