Pay the extra and go elsewhere!
Pros: The car itself was great, good size, clean with no issues.
Cons: The 1-800 told us there would be a shuttle or we could catch a taxi and be reimbursed. But when we landed at the Myrtle Beach airport, there was no shuttle. When we called the local Hertz location they said they'd reimburse us for the fare but when we got there we were told they couldn't reimburse us because we prepaid our booking. Don't 90% of rental cars get booked and prepaid ahead of time? There was even another Hertz rental location onsite at the airport but they were unable to help us because when we booked it online, it booked it to a MB location 3 miles away. The Hertz website says there a bus stop 3 miles from the office, right because I was going to make my 70 year old father-in-law walk 3 miles to rent a car in 104 degree heat. We called to see if we could switch our drop off to the airport location but they said it would cost upwards of $150, to drop a car off 3 miles away, ridiculous!! I won't be booking through Kayak or Hertz again.

Cons: The windshield wipers were not working, they smudged the rain did not take it away. It was terrible visibility, after calling the office where we rented they advised us to go to the nearest hertz rental which was over 20 miles away to exchange the vehicle. we took the chance and kept the car. No rain on the return, because we prepaid they could not do any thing but give us voucher for future use. I don't think we will use them again.

Cons: Before vacation I spoke to a Hertz representative from that office. I asked if there was a shuttle from the airport. He said no, but they would get us to the airport when we dropped off the car. Was I surprised when we went to drop the car off and found out the office closed six hours before we got there. Thank goodness for Uber.

Pros: Price and distance to pick up car.
Cons: Seats were dirty.. I brought it back 30 minutes later so they could document it. He did clean the rear and front seat and removed a few ants in back seat. I was the lone driver and did not expect anyone to use rear seats so no big , big deal.
