Disappointment

Pros: I wanted a Toyota Corolla instead I had a VW Jetta. Secondly, I reserved by using my debit card and no one told me that within less than 24 hrs I was forced to use my secure CC. I'm waiting for a refund back to by debit card charges.

Cons: Two charges because hertz has this stupid policy that my secure CC had to be charged. I'm told that my debit card will take 5-7 business days to refund. Better Be.

Great van

Pros: The actual van was great, ran smooth, clean when we got it and would rent it again.

Cons: Picking up the car: The rental was under my dad's name but he only had debit cards to rent it. Hertz would not release the car under a debit card so I had to get off work and take an early lunch to put my credit card down. I didn't like that at all.

Great Service

Pros: The service was qick and friendly. The rental was reaaonable I received a free upgrade. They offered prepurchased gas at a lower rate. When my pick up ride was late, they drove me home.

Car reserved was not what I received.

Pros: BT radio option was nice

Cons: I requested a mid size car and was given a compact (Yaris). I was not notified of the change at any point. It wasn't until I drove away that I confirmed in my reservation what I thought I had requested.

Hertz was terrible.

Cons: I rented the car to drive from LAX to my parents house in Riverside. The drop off was at a Riverside location on Thanksgiving day. When we went to return the car the location was closed as well as another location we tried in Riverside. We had a one day rental and could not return the car. We tried to return the car on Friday to the contract drop off location but again they were closed. We drove to the other location in Riverside and were finally able to drop the car. All would have been fine accept Hertz (three representatives on the phone as well as one representative in person) felt that we should pay for the additional day we had the car despite our attempts to return the car and the contract length of the rental being one day. I will never rent from Hertz again and will make it our company policy to avoid them.
