Pros: We loved this place! Kind, friendly staff, excellent food, simple but comfortable and perfectly clean beds and bathrooms, and situated in the heart of the countryside where it's so peaceful and quiet. It's perfect for a retreat away from the big city for a few nights, and all for a very reasonable price. Plus the bonus of some lovely friendly dogs and puppies. Great value all round - we'll definitely be back!
Pros: Amazingly helpful people. Very welcoming and great food. The local community were very welcoming and fun as well.
Pros: Clean and comfortable home stay vibes. Generous portions and tasty food!
Cons: They didn’t have toothpaste when they said they’d provide it... bring everything you might need just in case.
Pros: The place is truly amazing. A lovely Homestay in the middle of nowhere really! A great place to visit if you want to get out of the hustle and bustle of the cities. The room was in a wooden lodge on stilts, a popular type of Homestay for Vietnam.
Cons: Paid 800,000 for one night all in. Not a bad price but expensive for what it was. Adding things like 7,000vnd per beer seemed unnecessary as I already paid over the odds for food. I’ve stayed in better home stays with a more welcoming family elsewhere who don’t just want to take all your money. I didn’t meet the family, just one young boy, he was very nice but It was odd not to meet the others. Usually when I stay in home stays it’s been a bit different, we were left to our own devices here. Not a negative just a bit different from what I’ve usually experienced.
Pros: Such an outstanding homestay. There's a lovely lake to swim in and the food was excellent. We also left a bag and they very kindly returned it a day later.
Pros: The location was idyllic, so peaceful with the lake only a 2 min walk away for a swim and the staff where so pleasant. Food was also plentiful and delicious, I wish I could have stayed more than one night but had a flight from Hanoi the following night. Will be back when I visit northern Vietnam next year again.
Pros: I loved it here, came on motorbike, lovley drive there too!
Pros: Beautiful farm stay. Quiet, relaxing and excellent home cooked food. Friendly dogs to play with and a beautiful reservoir close by.
Pros: It’s what I wanted from the bamboo house . Very helpful hosts and beautiful nature around
Cons: Can be noisy
Pros: Uncle Ty’s homestay was a dream! We went for my boyfriends birthday and they surprised us with a cake and balloons. They were so thoughtful and really made it the best experience for a special occasion!
With lake views, Bavi Homestead is located in Ba Vì and has a restaurant, a 24-hour front desk, bar, garden, outdoor pool and children's playground. Free WiFi is provided. All units feature air conditioning and a flat-screen TV. An Asian breakfast is available daily at the country house. Bavi Homestead offers a terrace. Guests at the accommodation can enjoy table tennis on site, or go hiking or fishing in the surroundings. Yên Bài is 10 km from Bavi Homestead. The nearest airport is Noi Bai International, 65 km from the country house, and the property offers a paid airport shuttle service.
Pros: Was a lovely location to get away for a few days ☺️ The homestead is just outside the gates to the national park so is very easy to explore the area. The facilities were good, we had a private room with bathroom. They provided a snack bar and free toiletries within the room and the bed was comfortable. The staff were nice and would come to room about 7pm with flask of hot water and to ask you if you wanted to order any dinner. The homestead runs tours (although we didn't do any) and seems to host a school for children. This was nice to interact with them and to hear them practice English.
Pros: The staff are really friendly and kind. The had a good selection of food that was only marginally more expensive than it should be. We ate all our meals at the hotel. Breakfast was decent.
Cons: The bed was one of those Asian style thin mattress thing that isn't comfortable and was quite hard. No really way to avoid that in many places in Asia but just be aware because the pictures looked like it had a nice bed and it wasn't. Nobody spoke English so it was a little challenging.. but with a bit of mime and google translate, you get by. Wasn't major. I also made a request during my booking phase to be away from the main central area and other guests. I guess no one can read English because we were put right next to the dining area and all the commotion (Especially in the morning before 7am). There was hardly anyone staying at the hotel, so putting us where it was quiet was certainly possible.
Pros: Very rural and rustic location. Wish we had booked more time to explore. The staff were fantastic and friendly. Park is very cool to explore by scooter.
Cons: The beds were a little hard but you get used to it.
Pros: Great location and not expensive.
Cons: Beds are too stiff
Pros: Great location and good value for money.
Cons: The omelette was just 4 fried eggs.
Pros: Room was clean and aircon working just fine.
Cons: Pool was not a pool to swim in. Not clean. Expensive food.
Pros: The homestay is in a beautiful area just inside Ba Vi Park. The rooms themselves are excellent value for money, with AC and fans equipped plus a lovely hot shower.
Cons: Everything was beautiful, nothing to dislike :)
Pros: Staff was friendly, they could speak english and there was free tea. The food was ok.
Cons: The room smelled musty and was very dark. The blanket was not clean and the AC and ventilators were really old and made a lot of sound. At 21.00 they started singing karaoke and until 00.00 it was really noisy (it is supposed to be quiet after 22.00). Hope you can improve this aspects!
Pros: Simple and comfortable accommodation, as ever. Noticably more organised and polished than the last visit over a year ago. Food is good and fairly well priced for an on-site restaurant, but not cheap compared to street food equivalents. AC in the room s worked a treat in the July heat. A great base for exploring either the national park or waterpark up the road.
Cons: Can be loud and overrun on weekends and national holidays, otherwise it'll likely be deserted.
Pros: Very helpful

Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available on request).
Pros: Only resort was out of all activities Nice clean and big resort with nice pool
Cons: My family got here in the coldest rainy day, not many things to do except taking kids to the indoor playground. However,I felt very frustrated as I brought the room umbrellas to the playhouse, someone just took mine and FLC asked me to pay 350,000VND for the funny token umbrellas. I had to paid for 2 lost ones!!!. I don’t think this is 4 or even 5 star standard. Besides the rooms weren’t tidy. I will not definitely come back here.
Pros: Fantastic resort and receptionists
Pros: Really nice gardens, well maintained, peaceful. The staff were also very nice and the food was good.
Cons: We would have liked to stay at the outdoor swimming pool in the evening but it closes at 7pm. The bar tenders did not seem to be well trained at all and needed to be shown how to mix a simple drink. We brought tennis rackets but were told we’d have to pay 200,000 per hour before 5 and 300,000 after. This is ridiculous at a ‘luxury’ hotel. Staff seemed entirely inflexible.
Pros: Swimming pool is gorgeous the indoor and outdoor. The gardens all around the hotel. The bar food was amazing.
Cons: Amazing resort, myself and my boyfriend wanted a relaxing night to just chill and this was perfect !Hotel is out of this world so nice and clean food is far ,you have your own driver to drive you around its so peaceful ❤
Pros: The staff was very helpfull. Special thanks to jaques, a host from south africa who made us feel very welcome. The resort is beautifull and for kids there was plenty to do.
Pros: The space is good even the weather is really hot. The private space for each family is also good. We could swim in the swimming pool indoor and do not care about the weather. The farm is really nice for children.
Cons: The quality of meals is not really good. The play area for children is not interesting for them. Only few old games and the facility is old also. The decoration in the restaurant is look normal, not great like outside.
Pros: Beautifully kept gardens, a lake, a nice pool, friendly staff
Cons: The breakfast could have been better. One day it was very poor, the next day there was a banquet. ‘There weren’t any guests yesterday’, we were told.
Pros: Everything was SO COMFORTABLE and LUXURIOUS! We were amazed to arrive in such a beautiful place in such a remote location! The property is huge, indoor and outdoor pool were very clean and heated! Several tennis courts and even a « little zoo » where they even have some monkeys! The restaurant was good and the cocktails too. Staff very nice and helpful! We were wondering why this place was almost empty of customer but hey, at least we had the pool just for ourselves!!

Pros: Very nice and attentive staff, beautiful room, delicious dinner. Pool and spa for relaxing. Nice facilities, a lot of things to see and to discover, shourly a pleasure for kids.
Pros: The gardens were very beautiful. Very well kept grounds.
Cons: Food was too expensive (juice was 100k) The pool closed too early at 6pm. There seem to be little extra fees for everything, for example they charged kids 50 thousands to do some fishing for 30 minutes.
Pros: A really nice stay. Loved the atmosphere and smell of the trees, lake and pond. A great escape from Hanoi.
Cons: The bed was a little hard and only one pillow. Having to order food over an hour in advance when not feeling hungry was a bit annoying.
Pros: Prior to arrival - the care of our booking was second to none. They really cared about us and arranged transport as well as everything else with loads of emails back and forth. Early arrival and check- in was seamless (Ha really was welcoming) The pool was lovely as was our accommodation, I loved the citronella and lemongrass mosquito repellent left in the rooms for our use. The complex itself is lush and green and just feels vibrant and refreshing. The food was delicious, as was the local wine surprisingly! The tea offered before our massage was divine. We loved the use of free bicycles to have a traipse round the local countryside.
Cons: There were three of us and we all had massages. My friend and I were happy enough but one friend found hers quite rough and couldn't communicate this clearly due to a lack of English. Maybe work on simple phrases like gently please, a little more pressure, a little less pressure etc. The bike gears didn't really work but were grand for an hour or two in the country.
Pros: Great place with friendly staffs. The resort is full of green trees, and it’s only 40 km from Hanoi. It’s great escape from the daily city life
Cons: The way to the resort is a little bit difficult
Pros: Beautiful location, great, fresh food.
Cons: Hard bed and pillows...I know this is typical for Vietnam, but it’s like sleeping on a rock. We might have opted to stay longer if the beds and pillows were more comfortable.
Pros: Good accommodation.
Cons: A little bit to pricy, however they're social entrepreneurs.
Pros: The location and grounds are just gorgeous. We live in Hanoi and it was lovely to escape the city and enjoy nature for a few days. It's quite rustic but it was exactly what we were looking for and we had a great time. The pool was fantastic and shaded in the afternoon so we could spend as long as we wanted there. The staff were really kind and friendly and spoke pretty good English.
Cons: It took a long time to order anything outside of the set meal times as staff were either busy or nowhere to be seen. The meals were a bit confusing at first as you order a set meal for your whole group but the food was good value and very tasty. However an a la carte lunch menu would be great as we didn't want a full set meal for lunch but the snacks were very small. Overall it was good.
Pros: Lovely location; lush green, quiet and lots to get excited about for the kids, with animals everywhere and a great pool. I would say the food & room are slightly overpriced, but all in all a great Hanoi getaway...
Pros: Everything was great! The place is so beautiful, very quiet, huge, there is so many things to do with kids too The food is very good, nice swimming pool a lot of bikes free very kids friendly
Cons: We were happy to sleep in the bedroom called " Lotus", not all the accomadations are beautiful
With a stay at Family Homestay Ba Vi - Hostel in Hanoi (Ba Vì), you'll be 15 minutes by foot from Ba Vi National Park. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Very kind owners Very nice place in the nature Good and clean bathroom Good family dinner
Cons: Pretty expensive for just a basic room with shared bathroom Only one electrical outlet, and connected to the fan, pretty unconvenient for being either solo either two people staying Basic breakfast, coffee/tea not included
Cons: It seemed that they were not prepared for guests, when we ordered beer she went to the market to buy warm beers which is not very pleasant when it is 40 degrees. The food was delicious but not enough and when we asked for more rice they already gave it to the dog. The bed was not comfortable and when it started raining in the middle of the night, I felt the rain coming through the roof which was very bad... The people were very nice and they really did their best but there are some things they should improve.. it was an experience that we don’t forget which makes it kinda funny
Pros: The family; the garden; the community; the countryside
Cons: The hard beds
Pros: At a first glance the garden - beware though, there’s two extremely aggressive dogs. One running around freely, the other one caged and chained.
Cons: Rained through the roof Didn’t provide shelter - huge spider, cockroaches and a nice surprise in the morning - a frog in my shoe. Woke me up real quick. When asking for cold drinks, the lady went and bought beer and handed it to us lukewarm. Dinner - food was ok, but after asking for a little more rice (really not a lot was given) we learned, that she fed it to the dog and there was none left. When I woke up in the night and went to the toilet, I found myself cornered by the dog. We didn’t receive a blanket and had to get ropes to hang up the mosquito net. Host seemed completely unprepared for hosting guests. We paid 15€ for the stay, which was the most expensive Homestay so far. Nowhere near worth it.
Pros: A great homestay with the most fantastic hosts. Location is superb and the place just has the most relaxed feel about it. Will definitely visit again.
Pros: Staff was friendly, food was good
Cons: Kind of expensive per night in the dorm
Pros: It was actually really basic accommodation, the pictures look much butter than the reality. Nevertheless, the owners are super friendly, offer you sightseeing tours, drinks, snacks and much more for no additional charge. Only what you could pay for is dinner, do not hesitate, you will get local meals with fair price. Besides there are no shops or restaurants close by. Just one advise, learn at least several Vietnamese words as they hard speak English and the communication could we very funny :)
Pros: The family who runs the homestay is very nice, although their English is limited. The beds were fine and equipped with mosquito nets. Breakfast was very basic (egg banh mi) but still tasty. Dinner was good and filling.
Cons: I would’ve liked more than one bathroom. Also there was construction happening on this property and that made it less peaceful than I was hoping for.
Pros: Family hosting in that place will make you feel very welcome, homestay is easy to find, food is good. Place is very peaceful and full of green plants. I recommend it.
Pros: Staff were so friendly and welcoming even though they couldn't speak English. Food was super delicious. Homestay had pretty garden and ostriches!
Cons: Beds were very uncomfortable in the dorms. No air conditioning, only a fan. Location is far from Ba Vi national park entrance.

Noi Bai International Airport is situated a 1.5-hour drive away, while Ba Vi national park is 1 km from the hotel. The property offers free parking.
Pros: Massive comfortable bed. Lovely view with large windows. Snacks in the room.
Pros: Staff were very helpful and we had an excellent nights sleep before our trekking in Ba Vi the following morning.
Pros: Ba Vi is a great place to visit !
Cons: Staff didn't speak english at all and clearly didn't know how a hotel works. Booked breakfast and the guy said "We don't do it here" on arrival. Hm ok ? Why do we have this option then ? Room was barely clean : dirty footprints on the floor + ashes & condom box in the drawer. Also the lights didn't work properly. Very noisy too. We went there because of a last minute decision but wouldn't recommend it. Had a very pleasant trip but not thanks to this hotel.
Pros: The beds were very comfortable and there was a big window and a balcony which looked out upon the mountains of Ba Vi. The location was very convenient to the national park and lots of restaurants. The courtyard was big and open and there was a nice little pond on the property. By the parking area there was a makeshift pull up bar and a weight bench. The staff was responsive when we asked for some bowls and utensils.
Cons: The room was clean, but there were still some noticeable hairs and things around our room which I saw almost right away. The shower didn't have strong pressure and the hot water didn't maintain for very long at all. You could hear lots of noise from other rooms and the common areas from loud children, so quiet hours weren't strictly enforced. Nothing was really that bad, but I typically stay in hostels for a fourth of the price, and even they are typically more hospitable and have more features and focus more attention on cleanliness.
Pros: My daughter had a VIP room on the second floor--VERY spacious and clean with mini fridge. During the weekend, there were early morning and late night activities (team-building, families, karaoke), which created some noise, but they were interesting and even pleasant experiences for us as we felt we got to be in the real Vietnamese environment. The bed was very comfortable. Kind, caring staff. Enjoyed vegetarian dinner (ordered in advance.) I promised I will visit again with my husband, and I will. :) Air condition was excellent. Need to pay in VND. Great value for money.
Cons: The room was not cleaned at all. The trash bin was full, the floor had dead insects. It looked that no one swept it. The worst of all, was that we found a box of used condoms in a drawer. I wouldn't recommend it.
