Location great, very central. Room decor very dated, musty smell in room (couldn't open windows). Tv took about 5 seconds to change channel - not great when you are flicking looking for english language!
Good atmosphere, nice staff, comfortable and interesting location away from the city centre business district. The hotel only provides a buffet breakfast. The bar is not open. There are plenty of excellent bars and a full range of resturants nearby.
Great location, lovely & helpful staff, comfortable rooms, nice communal areas, wonderful breakfast. The bed was a little hard for my taste.
A well priced hotel in a great central location. I took my parents who have mobility problems and the area is flat and easy to walk around.
Very good location, but facilities are a bit old. The toilet did not flush.
excellent location, good staff, good breakfast small rooms
Excellent location in quiet knook but only 2 blocks to Campo Di Fiori and all the action. We requested and received a room overlooking the beautiful gardens of the French Embassy. Hotel is in very quiet area adjacent to Piazza Farnese and is within easy walking distance of all the major areas - Campo, Pizza Navonna, Pantheon, Trevi, etc. Loads of resturants, cafe's, shops, bars in the vicinity. Very clean room much larger than most European hotels typically are. Very nice size bath and shower. Very comfortable room and in a great location. The hotel staff replied to e-mail requests prior to our trip for room confirmation and arrangements for transportation from airport literally within the hour our requests were sent. Nothing we did not like.
The room was very comfortable. The location was in a nice quiet location yet close to many of the city attractions, and the breakfast was superb. A real little gem.
Everything was fantastic! The room was exceptionally (and promptly) cleaned each day; the breakfast buffet was outstanding; the desk personnel were friendly and extremely helpful; and, the hotel environment was extremely pleasant! I have no complaints whatsoever, and when in Rome, I will stay there again, and will recommend my friends do as well. I did notice several us people on the website complain generally about small hotel rooms in Rome. I suspect these folks do not get around Europe much! Real estate is incredibly pricy and space does not come cheap! Us travelers need to be prepared to spend $130 usd or more a night for a room that will be much smaller than the typical us economy hotel room. that is the norm in rome! Stop complaining! Focus on the beauty of the setting and hotel, the convenience of location, and the experience of being in a world class city!
the hotel staff was very pleasant and helpful
Loved the courtyard which was peaceful in middle of big city. Hotel was quiet - unusual for Rome. Great location, near stacks of excellent restaurants - Pierluigi was the best ! Relative to other cities, Rome, and this hotel over are way priced.
Great location, beautiful hotel, rooms are very large and comfortable; staff is friendly - we loved this hotel !!!!
Staff where very friendly and cheerful, the court yard was beautiful and the location fantastic.
Beautiful hotel in perfect location, many fine amenities. A contemporary haven in old Rome.
We had a 5th floor room with an outlook over surrounding streets and river. We were able to check in a little early and checkout a little late with no problems. Staff were helpful and efficient.
Overall very good exprience. However we did feal that some of the staff could improve their attitude towards customers Customer Service.
Great location, nice big bathrooms, spacious rooms in general. Nice comfortable accommodation, walking distance to everything (including nightlife and many major attractions). Bellhops were very nice, but some of the desk staff was slightly unfriendly and unhelpful. Restaurant staff asked us to leave table (in beautiful garden) after finishing coffee to make room for other guests but there were many other tables. Guest service not the hotel's strongest area in my brief experience.
Very good location Its a little pricey
Location Comfort ok, beds a bit too firm. Reception staff were cordial and helpful. Bar staff were going to overcharge for beverage until I pointed out the correct price in menu. Don't know if intentional or not, but you would think they know the correct pricing as advertised in their menu. Our room was on third level on the side where the hotel entrance is located. This area can be noisy at night, especially on weekends when people are walking on the street and street musicians (which hung out a few doors down from the hotel) are playing. The rooftop terrace is nice but the views are limited and there were many yellow jackets/hornets around the evening appetizers at the bar.
Location Graffiti and beer bottle drinkers outside nightly
The hotel is quietly situated in a picturesque, lively and interesting part of the city away from the more popular tourist areas but nevertheless within easy reach of most of the principal sights. The staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful, and the housekeeping exceptional. Although the restaurant was not yet open, we found plenty of good ones close by.
This new hotel is in a delightful area and is an oasis of calm and gentility. It has been lovingly and tastefully restored. There are many good restaurants nearby. The room was perfect - elegant, comfortable, with every need catered for and was kept immaculately clean. The staff both in reception and the breakfast room were very helpful, friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended. An integral restaurant would be a welcome addition and we understand this is in the planning. Seating in the secluded courtyard garden would be an advantage.
The hotel was fantastic, in an excellent location. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The breakfast was lovely and the room was lovely. Would definately stay again and would have no reservation at all in recommending it to anyone.
Fantastic atmosfare, prima location and exelent staff
The building is beautifully restored and historic. Breakfast was very good. As I have found with most European hotels, there are no tea/coffee making facilities and no guests laundry facilities.
It is a beautiful hotel located in the wonderful area of Trastevere. The staff were excellent and very helpful.
building of hotel, quiet kind atmosphere , style of decoration, breakfast, sigghtseeing from the roof sightseeing from windows at the reparing building
Beatifuly monestry conversion building, very well refurbished and decorated. All hotel staff were extremely helpful. Many good restaurants around the area. It was off-peak season and value for money was even better! We had really nice & quiet stay.
Everything! I keep telling everyone what an exceptionally wonderful hotel this is. I've been to wonderful hotels in the past but I've never enjoyed any of them as much as I enjoyed Donna Camilla Savelli. The hotel crew members were so friendly courteous and kind. Location is great, not too crowdy but still close enough to all the attractions. I will definitely come again. Nothing!
Great location, 20 minute walk from all the must see sights. Hotel itself was top notch. Room overlooking the garden was stunning, and service was exemplary. Free parking, delicious breakfast, and courteous staff. Will definitely be back.
The staff was very pleasant and very helpful. The ambience of the hotel was very relaxing, historical and high quality. The cost of drinks was rather high and it would have been relaxing to have a larger bar area. If the weather permitted, the rooftop would have been very delightful. The location was fabulous as we love to walk and uncover the area and supurb restaurants. Small area for coffee and drinks. Banging shutters at night.
Location i fab, staff are amazing and room was just lovely No, everything was great. I had read some comments on this site about location being hard to find; not great etc etc. I would like to inform anyone who is thinking of this hotel to ignore them as location is amazing and hotel is lovely.
Location, colour and decor of rooms, arty nature Nothing it was great
Good location, stylish interior, comfortable rooms, friendly personnel, peaceful hotel, flexibility (our room was ready already when we arrived before noon)
Location. Very stylish. Peaceful (apart from the trams!) No fridge. Hard to find as it is on the second floor with minimal signage
Very central, we walked everywhere. Extremely friendly staff.
Very cosy hotel with friendly staff. Only ten rooms makes this hotel your "home away from home". Perfect location with short walking distance to all tourist attractions. The "living room" is perfect for relaxing with a bottle of wine after a long day of sightseeing. Very good beds. I would definitely stay here again! The breakfast was good but it would have been nice to have dark bread in addition to rolls, and some vegetables like tomato or cucumber.
Perfect location! Cozy atmosphere. Cleanliness in the room Breakfast served for relatively short period 8.30-10.30 Smell from the kitchen of the cafe on the ground floor
Homeliness, quiteness, good central location with pleasant staff. Entrance not easy to find. Could have been a bit more food (especially fruit) at breakfast
The hotel staff was very nice, and gave good tips on the city.
Hotel was always shiny clean, and very quite and relaxing if really in the middle of such a busy place.. great location with everything a few minutes walking distance. Breakfast was a bit on the disappointing side.. but guess it was because the place wasn't that busy to justify a huge table either
very good location, not far from the vatican, the swimming pool is a godsent
I liked the breakfast each morning and the relaxing courtyard. The location was nice. Most of the staff was friendly and helpful.
Great location, nice garden area to sit in. Breakfast was well done, as well as afternoon tea. Rooms were rather small. Meals at the hotel would have been convenient, but very pricey.
Good location, nice room, friendly helpful staff (for the most part)
The location was out of the city centre itelf yet readily accessible using buses the routes of which were all described by the staff at the hotel. Good selection from the buffet breakfast and lots of healthy options too. The clr=eaners made the room daily to a very high standard. A whopping 10% surcharge for using travellers cheques..!!! Staff very stroppy when challenged about this, the pool was freezing and completely unuseable and we couldn't use the hotel bar as there was a private function on every night..! Also, the shower screen leaked water all over the bathroom floor which the staff we not interested in fixing. All in all. The staff we only interested in doing their job to a minimum and did not want to go out of there way for anything to help..! This may just be an Italian trait as this seemed to be the norm across the city.
The pool, all staff EXCEPT reception, food quality, breakfast The hotel is very nice - lovely grounds and beautiful pool. The pool staff, housekeeping, and bellhops were excellent. They all made a special effort to be kind and friendly, especially to our young son. The food was delicious (room service and by the pool), and the breakfast outstanding. Lots to choose from and freshly prepared. Also no matter what time we went to breakfast everything was fully stocked. Room size, Reception staff, location, food price, wi-fi There were three of us and our room was TINY. So small, in fact, that we didn't have space to open more than one suitcase at a time. They should have been ashamed of themselves for putting us the room they did. The wi-fi was ATROCIOUS. It didn't work by the pool at all, and barely worked in the rooms - constantly dropping off. And they would give us a daily user-id and password which was a hassle. The hotel didn't offer any sort of information book, so when we got to our room we had no idea how things worked - the pool, breakfast, wi-fi, tv, etc. We had to ask questions constantly, and the reception staff was not forthcoming with information (we got an eye roll once). The hotel is a bit too far away from main Rome attractions to make it possible to walk both to and from things, which added a lot to our stay since we ended up taking a taxi at least one direction (at 20 euro a pop). That said, it's in a lovely residential area that was quiet and very close to the Trestavere district, which was nice. Lastly, while the food at the bar was delicious, it is VERY pricey with not many options.
The fantastic pool after a day's siteseeing. Evening drinks in the lovely garden. The location out of the traffic and crowds of Rome city, but only a short, pleasant walk to St. Peters and the Vatican. The small room , with a "view" of the restaurant roof. Very claustrophic.
the worst hotel in the world bunch of maffia trying to rip you off
lovely clean fresh room with a great veiw breakfast was excellent staff very helpful and friendly shame that the bar shut early on a saturday night as the garden was lovely and we came back at 1030 to sit in garden and enjoy a drink and coffee only to find it was closed so went to bed thirsty. also taxi driver drove way to fast using his mobile phone very scary journey to the airport. However driver from the airport was lovely
Slightly out of town and away from the bustle, but close enough to walk and see all of the sights
Gardens and location Lack of a restaurant
Restaurants were very authentic - a bit off the beaten path from the rest of the touristy areas. In a cool neighborhood, but very far walk from any major site.
Good location, design of hotel, friendly staff. Rooms need a little maintenance.
Absolutely wonderful! The hotel location is right in the center of trastevere region in Rome, stylish and sleek design, large (really large) and comfort rooms, very kind staff and excellent breakfast.
It's a very modern looking Hotel with a good quality/money ratio. To need to repair the room again. The rooms are a bit rumbled-down.
The decor could do with a touch-up.
Friendly, helpful staff. Spacious, comfortable room. Beautiful, trendy design. Nice breakfast. The club, Suite, that is supposedly part of the hotel was closed. The elevators are too small and definately not suitable for people with even the slightest form of claustrobia. The hotel was not as close to the city center as we thought it would be.
Really just the location. The room does not look like the one on you web site Is a BIG scam ..... Very small room not even a pic on the wall, the kitchen was very dirty ..... The maid didn't clean the kitchen ...... You advertise free WiFi and is only for one device I have to pay for more advices. The breakfast wasn't very good. I was very very up set with the room and the money that I spend for it!! The front desk not to friendly. I'm not going to use your web site ever again.
location and spacious rooms breakfast coffee!!!!!!!
the best thing was the breakfast areaand that the hotel was quiet andnot noise there was no greek channels at least one and that some personsof the staff they didnt speak english...only italian...
Very spacious and comfortable, quiet rooms, modern design. Reception staff always willing to help. Ideal base to enjoy the nightlife of Trastevere and close enough to the historic centre Bar staff could have been more flexible - very strict about bar closing times (didn't even allow me to finish a drink) and forced customers to share tables at breakfast, although there were ample free tables immediately adjacent to the main breakfast area
Check in and out process was very efficient and the breakfast included was great tasting with mutiple options Restaurant was not open due to vacation but no notification was given to that affect. Elevators very small and room set up very cubicle style in set up. No subtitles available on the television.
The staff, the decor, the breakfast, the convenience to all historical sites. Nothing, it was delightful from beginning to end
The roof terrace is an amazing added facility The room had slightly wierd temperature control..either hot or cold!
The bathroom was excellent. The location was excellent. Included breakfast was excellent. The room was very quiet (there were no exterior windows). The lighting could be better. Also, it would be nice if there were a second chair, even if the space would be tight.
Lovely room, good size bathroom, helpful staff.
The location of the hotel was superb for all of the sights of central Rome. The rooms were very comfortable, especially the beds. The breakfast was excellent. The staff is very helpful. There were no aspects of our stay that we did not like.
Staff was very Kind, Location Of hotel is in the center of what ever you need to see in Rome Size of the room, Conmfort of Furniture, quality of Breakfast
The location was excellent
Friendly staff; excellent location
Warm welcome from the staff, clean and nice room, fantastic view from the terrace. Excellent overall recommendations from the staff for a day city visit. The breakfast start at 7h30 am, which is a little late.
The location was great with so many significant buildings and monuments within walking or easy transport distance. Lovely old building with beautiful roof garden. Small but decorative room, lovely modern bathroom. Welcoming staff. Breakfast was included in price. Taxi driver from railway station (we came from a cruise at Civitavechia) and paid the taxi driver 30 Euros for the fare which was high for the very short trip. It would be good if this type of information could be provided. Used a car booked by the hotel to get to the airport, cost was 50 Euros but much better value.
location and breakfast no tea or coffee facilities in the room. Rooms were small considering the cost.
Location was excellent. The comunal facilities, breakfast area, lounge, roof- top bar all of a good standard. Ensuite was also good. Room was clean and funtional - if a bit pricey. Staff were helpful and courteous. The standard of fixtures and furniture in the room was poor qualty for a hotel charging ~$200 euro's per night.
Good beds. Central location. The wi-fi Internet didn't work at the room. Some traffic noise from the street.
Staff was friendly and responsive after the screw up on the reservation. We were booked rthrough your website to stay 3 nights. When we got to the hotel, we were informed we were not listed and they had no rooms. Thankfully, the gentleman working was able to find us another hotel for the night, but it was very inconvenient. I am not sure where the breakdown occurred, but I look to Booking.com to address the failure. Please see above. When we got to the hotel, we did not have a reservation listed in the hotel. Thanksfully I had my confirmation number. The staff was above to find us another hotel but it took close to an hour and it was an inconvenience to say the least. The hote staff was very good in responding. I expect some kind of response from booking.com on why this happened.
The staff was amazing--the hotel itself was beautiful. Everything worked, the free internet saved me money, transportation was accessilble, and staying in the Trastevere was a delight. I had read travel books that said there were no decent reasonably priced accommodations in the Trastevere--the books are wrong!
The roof garden was very relaxing, however views were not the best. Limited bar service.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
enjoyed friendly, helpful atmosphere and free internet
The roof terrace bar was a very nice feature
The facilities are clean and makes you feel like you are in a luxury hotel. Staff extremely helpful with ideas of what to do. English was not an issue. Close to tram which connects to buses and metro. Breakfast very good and wide ranging. Would like to have coffee/tea making facility, such as a kettle and mugs and complimentary tea, coffee, sugar and creamer. There was also no spare roll of toilet paper. Entry to our room was off the street and as we are both girls I would feel safer if our room entry was via the hotel lobby.
Location was great, the room was very nice, the staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was more extensive than I expected and they set it up early for us since we had to leave at 7:30 for the airport. We stayed in the large suite. The air conditioning struggled to cool the room and it was hot until about 3am. When the night manager needed to take a break, he locked the office door. This in effect locked us in the hotel since our room key did not work the door to the lobby. If there had been a fire or an emergency I am not sure how we could get out since all of the rooms open into an internal courtyard.
We chose the hotel because we thought that Trastevere would be an interesting place to stay and that certainly proved to be the case. Relais Le Clarisse was a charming, picturesque place to stay and at the same time the facilities were very modern and efficient. The bathroom was great and the courtyard a lovely place to sit and have breakfast. Although we visited the Vatican, St Peters and took the tour bus to visit all the main sites across the river, one of the nicest parts was wandering the narrow streets of Trastevere and stopping off for coffee and drinks at some very interesting bars and cafes. There is certainly quite a vibrant and bohemian feel to the area which might not appeal so much to some more conventional travellers but it certainly suited us.The staff in the hotel could not have been more helpful while at the same time leaving us to get on with things at our own pace. We would definately stay there again and recommend the hotel to friends. n/a
Very nice small family run hotel, nice atmosphere and decoration. Very good location in the middle of Trastevere and walking distance from all the major sights. Breakfast is a bit basic but ok.
We liked the location, the ease of travel, and the atmosphere of the Roman neighborhood. The hotel is very quaint with a rustic flavor. The staff served a lovely breakfast and were very helpful with suggestions as to travel, restaurants, and sightseeing. There were no phones in the room which made it difficult to communicate with the staff. After 22:00 there is no staff present, which makes leaving and returning difficult.

The staff here is outstanding. From the outset, Giancarlo was spot on with restaurant recommendations, etc. and went out of his way to provide an extra level of service. The rooms around the courtyard are a comfortable oasis from the busy-ness of the surrounding area and Rome. We spent our late afternoons in this retreat sipping wine( there is a world class Italian wine shop 2 blocks away as well as the local market) and reading our book in the courtyard. A nice respite from touring all the sites, which were closer than we had expected. Most were within a reasonable 10-30 minute walk which we found refreshing versus public transport. We would stay at Le Clarisse again in a heartbeat.
I loved the hotel's great breakfast each morning and the great value for your money in the cost of the room. none
Very nice and helpfull people. Great location. We will go there again next time is Rome Breakfast is fine, some health choices which was good. Bread and pastries are not so good
Location Hard to find. Street is only one block long with blockade in the middle.
