The Rooms were excellent, clean, comfortable, excellently furnished and location Th bar area seating was too open, the middle bar had a television on which was not showing much and should idealy be turned off and replaced with music. Lack of complementary water in the room. The instructions to get to the hotel are inaccurate and hotel could be more clearly sign posted
The degree of engagement which respected our privacy needs. The location and comfort in heating, need for a quiet room and range of fresh foods at breakfast.
Location Friendly Staff Comfort Cleanliness Did not receive Early Mornight Call on morning of departure We had to awaken staff to pay our Bill - not a bad complaint Lucky we had our own Alarm Clock or flights would have been missed First Class hotel otherwise would re - book and recommend
Very nice and fancy place Nothing everything was excellent
Our room was great. It was big, we were on the top floor so we had really high ceilings and lots of windows since we had a corner room. The location was great... close to the Grand Canal and San Marco's Square. The room very new and clean... we loved everything about it. When I see how expensive Venice is in general the hotel rate doesn't seem as unreasonable when you see what you get. When we booked the breakfast room was not finished so breakfast was not included in our rate. They offered us breakfast at the hotel for 15 euros per person. We thought it was a little expensive, but one morning we tried to find breakfast on our own on the streets of Venice and never found anything that good and it was still expensive. Venice is simply an expensive city.
We checked in early and the hotel provided a complimentary upgrade to a Canal View room, so we experienced the "post card" view of Venice from the room. The bathroom was 5-stars. We enjoyed our stay, but the breakfast could be improved to match the overall quality of the hotel.
The location The aircondition didn't work well,so the room was a bit cold.
The fact that we got what we asked for
great location, helpful staff, beautiful rooms, very comfortable bed
I thought at 370 euro a night breakfast should be included,I noticed American package holiday clients were being given a voucher for breakfast.
This was a lovely stay in venice, the new refurbished room was excellent, The staff were very friendly and helpfull, no breakfast as that part of the hotel was closed at the time of our stay, but was not a problem as it is close to many resturants & cafe's. I would book this hotel if I went to venice again.
The location of the hotel was ideal. It is a very short walk to Piazza San Marco. The hotel is also right next to some water ferry stations, which makes transportation easy. The staff serving breakfast were great. Air conditioner was not working.
The only reason I booked and paid a fortune for my room at this hotel was for the veiw , I was not given the room I booked and my veiw was rubbish . Would not recommend.
All personal were really good
My room was amazing Overlooking water Great decor Bathroom was awesome Loved everything. Really!
Beautiful old hotel. small rooms, but efficient and comfortable for 2 people. Great decorative touches in the room. Our room had views of the grand canal, with windows that could've opened for a fresh breeze off the water. Breakfast included in the price of stay, and was delicious, with many options on the buffet, fresh made cappuccinos, and views of the water. Extremely easy access to vaporetto, minutes walk from San Marco and many restaurants and shops. Very friendly English speaking staff A con for some: we had to climb 2 flights of stairs to our room even after taking the elevator, which was fine for us, but may be problematic or some; the elevator was tiny, which seems fairly standard for Italy, but good to know. In general recommend packing light, no matter where you stay as navigating over bridges in the city can be challenging with big bags!
The room was beautiful, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was perfect for reaching all the sites in Venice that we wanted to see. none.
Location, super nice staff, new rooms. For the price we were expecting a better view on the room. On the contrary we were situated on a back building
Take a water taxi to Piazza San Marco and you are only a few steps to the hotel. The hotel included a free boat trip to Murano to see a glass blowing studio and they also offer a one-hour boat tour around town in the afternoon for only 25 Euros per person. A decent hot and cold breakfast buffet was provided by the restaurant out front. We also enjoyed a dinner of traditional Italian specialties at the same restaurant in the evening. Our room was an inside room, so our view was only the courtyard area - but that was okay because all we had to do was step out the front door of the hotel and we were in the heart of beautiful scenery. If you request a waterfront room you will have gorgeous views. Our room seemed to be recently updated because everything looked clean and brand new. The bathroom was small but very modern with a relatively large walk-in shower - and it also looked like it had been recently renovated. The hotel common areas were undergoing renovations during our stay, but it did not disturb our visit at all. The hotel thought of everything - like a selection of soap products, hair dryer, mirrors, convenience packs, robes, etc., but it took up a great deal of space in an already tight bathroom.
Location Breakfast Very dirty furniture.
Nothings Really poor management & unfriendly to clients. Description on the website is big different to the actural.
The view, the location and the room.
The front desk staff were excellent. They were always friendly and helpful. The location for this hotel can't be beat. It is on the water with an amazing view and close to St. Mark's. Venice is beautiful but you are always lost on the winding streets. We never had a problem finding our hotel again because of its location. We had a very cool high tech shower but it leaked.
This is a charming old hotel that has been completely renovated. The owner was charming and very helpful. Our upgraded room was particularly nice.
delightful quiet part of Venice, very helpful staff - Umberto met us at the vaporetto stop and helped us get our bags to the hotel. The room was gorgeous with beautiful canopied bed and large bathroom all just completed. no breakfast as hotel is not completed yet
staff not helpful, from outside the hotel doesn't look good and one of the rooms was very smelly.
Newly renovated and very clean Still under renovations. Thin walls and poor/dim lighting at night (they are sensor lights)
We loved the quant atmosphere of the hotel as well as the privacy we were given. It was in a great location to walk anywhere really in Venice. The service was excellent and helpful. The room was just the right size with a great view of a garden. We still had a Venice experience at an affordable cost. The first night the room was very cold and the pillows aren't the most comfortable but they aren't the worst.
Great Hotel- staff was very friendly. Looked like nothing from the outside- so lucky to find it but absolutely pleasant stay.
Central location. Room size. Friendly staff.
Excellent bed, great location Little daylight - but inevitable for much of Venice
Excellent location and standard of room
Large room, comfortable bed and good loacation WIFI should be included in the fee.
Rooms were a good size, fantastic location and very comfortable. perfect for a short stay you were in the middle of every thing. Some people may find it a bit hard to find.
Emplacement, room and quietness
everyone was very pleasant & helpful/great location nothing
the decoration in the room and the location of the hotel is great!! but the floor of the hotel is not smooth~~
Our biggest concern when booking a hotel for Venice was finding a hotel near the bus (vaporetti) to avoid dragging the suitcases. We could not have asked for a better location than hotel Paganelli. The stop San Marco/San Zaccaria was 200m from the hotel. The room was clean and spacious. The room smelled weird but I would guess that all the hotels in Venice smell the same due to the humidity from the water.
We stayed in a "superior" double room in the main building on 11th October. The room was small, dark and terribly cold. The bathroom was also cold. We asked for some heating, but the manager refused and argued that the heating will be switched on only end of October. So we froze horribly the whole night. The hotel should control the heating by the temperature and not by the calendar date.
that its right bang opp st mark/st Zaccaria water taxi stop.........it cant get more central than this hotel............it is so convenient you step out and your in the madness.........tourist / restaurant / water taxis / st marks square is just 5 mins walking distance.....i also stayed in another hotel inside but the experience here was just too good.........their breakfast was also excellent....we got one of the sea view suites which overlooks the port.....its really amazing........the size of the rooms were really good......i recommend this hotel to anyone........ya but i stayed in the new wing which is on the st marks port............... there was this Chinese guy (i think he was the night manager)after 9.00 pm........he was rude and had too much attitude.......the whole hotel staff was so nice but only this guy had a big problem......
Very clean and beautiful hotel. Recently renovated a year ago. Personable and friendly Multi-lingual speaking staff. Convenient access to San Marco Square, Oltrex, other shopping, eating, and sightseeing places. Would have been a great time saver for us if they knew of multiple various local restaurants, times open, and locations to suggest to guests for consideration. The one (and only) place they did suggest had great food and somewhat formal service and was easy to find.
We were lucky to be allocated a spacious room and the location is excellent.
Recently refurbished rooms so very clean. Great value for money. Fantastic location, just 5 mins walk to St Marcs Sq. Really happy with our whole stay. Shame the roof top was out of bounds due to under construction
centrally located. very helpful concierge a little loud on the street side.
This hotel has a fantastic location. It's really close to piazza San Marco, it takes above 3 min for a walk.
nothing no water in shower
information on tours and help with arranging transportation to and from cruises and airlines. no
Rooms were clean, and hotel staff were helpful. Location was ideal, being within 70 mtrs of St Marks Square. Noise from nearby bar was a problem during the early hours of the morning. Tea/coffee facilities in rooms would have been nice
Location locatio location is all......... The staff are unpleasent and rude. The desk staff were unpleasent but the breakfast/restaurant staff were even worse. Breakfast was due to be served at 07.00hrs but nothing was ready by 07,30hrs and we had to leave without breakfast. The only thing i can say good re this hotel is its location. Other than that dont stay here to be treated like a criminal by the horrible staff.......
beds too bad, sounds like slip back into sleep
Room size, breakfast choice Noise, no ac in room
location breakfast was not good. More bread and baked goods and no real food that I know Venice for. Restaurant was managed by company other than the Hotel. I did not expect this level of outsourcing of service, especially when I was paying top dollars.I look for good hearty breakfast in Europe, form a hotel i am staying in, not a service provided by another company. Dinner was similar experience.
Front desk staff were able to answer questions and provide guidance for travel ideas
A clean comfortable room, in a hotel staffed with friendly, helpful people, and 20 seconds walk from St Mark's Square. A 2 minute walk from the nearest water taxi drop-off point, which included no bridges, so very easy to drag the cases the distance. We shall be staying there again.
Staff was vert helpful and very courtious. Hotel was kept clean at all hours. Rooms were a good size.
Near San Marcos Square, just steps away.
The location was excellent in Venice; I expected the Milan Casati to be nearer the Milano Centrale as depiceted on the website. The size of our room at bw Venice Montecarlo was too small; it was ok at Milano Casati The Staff were always coutreous and smiling. The location is ideal.
The staff were very helpful, the hotel was very clean, good wc/ shower facilities etc and a good breakfast... The beds were a bit hard...
Clean room, cozy bed, good bathroom, and good TV (if you actually need a TV while on vacation). Great location close to St. Marco's Basilica (main square in Venice). Close to shopping and public (vaporetto stop by St Marco). Included breakfast is good (eggs, bacon, juice, coffee, toasts, jams, etc). Bathroom lacked a vent leading to a stagnant water smell. The A/C was barely able to keep up with just the heat generated by the 2 people staying in the room.
The hotel is nicely decorated. Breakfast was very good and a plus. The best was the friendly, helpful staff. They made the hotel a cut above others. The man at the desk day/evening recommended activities and arranged tickets and directions for us. He was so kind and helpful. He even gave us an umbrella to use. I would recommend the hotel and would return at the first opportunity. We also loved the location. Thanks for a wonderful 51st wedding anniversary experience.
Location in Venice near to San Marco Bed rooms very tired with stained wall paper in each of the 3 rooms we booked. The furniture and size of the rooms were good and they had comfortable beds.
Friendly and helpfull staff. it´s location.
The staff were great, helpful, welcoming and always pleasant. The breakfast was excellent and the variety suited us. Our room was small, but perfectly adequate and the cleanliness of a very high standard. Staff went out of their way to make sure we had a good time. The pillows! Like sleeping with your head on a wooden block. To be fair, we didn't mention this and judging by our overall experience they would have changed them had we asked. I had to think really hard to come up with anythiing remotely negative.
The hotel was in a central location within walking distance to all the major attractions. I had a antique look with modern bathroom. I was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff were very courteous and helpful. I would stay in this hotel again.
great location, very easy walk to San Marko and Realto Bridge. Rooms are nice, clean, staff was very helpful.
The staff made us feel as though we were part of the team... it was a special place from the people that worked there...
close access to all sites we felt that it would have been much nicer if it had its own bar to return to in the evenings. and the breakfast room could have been bigger.
I liked location, easy to access everything, room was clean, stuff polite enaugh. Internet doesnt work very well. main thing what i didnt like - poor quality of morning coffee!
location of the hotel was very central. easy to find in venice. the room was in the traditional veniatian style. No
Good situation, coveniently between San Marco and the Rialto Not worth the price: frayed at the edges and not matching its claims; no sattelite tv; no internet; indifferent breakfast.
It was very central and easy to find from the Rialto water bus. No problem leaving luggage before/after checkin/out. Yes, there were a couple of unsatisfactory situations for a 3 * hotel, but I'm not allowed to complain. Decoration was tired. They were taking advantage of location.
Loved the decor, the waitresses looked lovely in their outfits location was brilliant for short stay easily accessible to the sites. Nothing
Its central position
Breakfast was fresh and varied, with fruits, cereal and juices, including coffe. The setting was delightful and clean, and assistance was available.
Very conveniently located, only about a block from the Piazza San Marco. Hotel staff were very helpful in making arrangements such as theater reservations. It is a difficulty with Venice rather than the hotel. I found it extremely hard to get around because, naturally, one must do everything by boat. We arrived quite late at night by train, and finding the hotel was not easy. We called for directions, and the night concierge was very helpful.
Location, Location, Location
we liked closeness to the St Marcus and the sea small bathroom
Great location just next to St Mark's Square. We had a great sized room on the 4th floor and next to the roof garden. Good breakfast range. Be aware there is no lift, although the staff did help carry bags from the 1st floor reception to our room, but if you have to leave in the early morning with heavy bags......... We also had mosquito problems and the repellant unit supplied unfortunately didn't work - obviously bloodied sheet (from mosquito bite) wasn't replaced for 3 nights.
I liked the location, only 1 minute from San Marco and the fact that is located near to lots of restaurants and bars. The room price was ok for our budget taking in consideration that we staid in the center of Venice which is an extremely expensive town. The room was very small (in my life I have not seen before a room so small), the breakfast was poorly, the receptionist was nervous and the lady from breakfast overwhelmed and very irritated.
Close to center of city Very small room. No elevators. Difficult to find
Good location close to San Marco, but quiet and comfortable enough, polite staff, good service, very good explanation how to find hotel. Heating was too strong and there was no way how to regulate it. Breakfast could be better, especially coffe.
overall is not bad, its location is good, just next to St. Marco sq., but the air-condition is quite poor, also we found cigarette heads on the carpets.
Very close to San Marco Square and easily accessible Rooms are bit small
Hotel staff friendly and helpful. They emailed good directions to the hotel at my request and we were checked in by a very helpful person who gave us maps and suggestions for local restaruants etc. Excellent location - close to major landmarks but quiet at night Very small room. Very noisy (doors slamming, footsteps upstairs).
Perfect Location, very welcoming, comfortable. Overall I would highly reccomend.
Arriving by boat; Location Must improve breakfast
The staff were very accomodating, especially Antonio, who provided excellent references about shops and places to go, and provided excellent assistance with my computer.
location bar prices
Closeness to san marcs square. View over bridge of sighes Price of drinks, extras for eggs etc at breakfast
Great location.Excellent helpful staff Room a little on the small size but adequate
very friendly and professional staff and perfect location of the hotel.
Everything was perfect. The staff was friendly and very helpful. My wife and I and our 8 year old daughter were very comfortable and really enjoyed the services the hotel had to offer. Breakfast is excellent and you can also order items from a breakfast menu for additional price. We plan on returning to Venice in the future and will make sure to stay in this hotel again.
When staying here, I liked the way the hotel was decorated, very typically venetian but beautiful. I enjoyed the breakfasts, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. our room was plenty big enough and the walk from the hotel to the main square only took 2 minutes!
beautiful room-lovely celilings, tastefully decorated Be careful with booking water-taxi service via the hotel. Agree on price and request pick-up at the hotel's mooring area on the hotel side. We were asked to walk with our luggage through the streets to meet a water-taxi at another location. Fee requested was Euro 60 (for three stops!), which we did not accept.
A lovely hotel in a great part of Venice, near St. Marks square. Clean rooms, nice breakfast. Our standard room was tiny. We could barely open our 2 suitcases up on the floor side by side at the foot of the bed and pass by to get to the washroom. The room was just bigger than the bed.
rooms very nice, location good.... staff very nice except for one person at the desk who soured our experience.
free breakfast price was high
The location is excellent, and it is a lovely old hotel, but the rooms in the building closest to the opera are certainly better than the rooms in the other building. The service is good, and everything is sparkling clean. Breakfast in the small courtyard is a real treat. I had stayed in this hotel before, but I was in the other building (the one closest to the opera). I discovered that there is a great difference betweent the two buildings. The one closest to the opera has rooms that are more spacious and elegant with lovely furniture and large bathrooms. The other building (breakfast room side) is more functional with smaller rooms and smaller bathrooms. The hotel should distinguish between standard rooms and superior rooms. Be sure to ask for the building closest to the opera. The rooms are much nicer.
After reading some of the comments on the website, I was unsure what to expect, so I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the door to my room. I had a single room and found the size was just right. The room was well laid and and very clean. I could not ask for more. The hotel was in a fabulous position also. I did get a little lost trying to find the hotel but I phoned them to be given great directions. The breakfast was also adequate. Although there isn't the choice a lot of people would be used to, I found that I had plenty to eat. I would highly recommend this hotel.
This hotel is wonderfully located just a few blocks from San Marco. Our room had a balcony that overlooked a small canal. We heard the gondoliers singing and the uOpera singers rehearsing - the Opera house is right next to the hotel. I've now stayed at this hotel since the late 1980s and I think it's a great value for the location. No.
The location and the great breakfast. Internet facilities and the space./sitting area downstairs The lack of a good concierge
Proximity to the Opera House. I had a private rooftop area, and the room was large. Staff helped arrange dinner reservations and did their best to keep us from getting lost (impossible in Venice!!) Came highly recommended by a friend, but to get to the 4th floor, had to walk up 1 flight, take an elevator 2 flights, and then walk the final flight. Very odd. The room was full of mosquitoes. There was no internet access in the rooms, and only paid in the common area, a rather long haul from our room.
Good location, however hidden from non Venice experts. The toilet was impossible to reach in the small bathroom. You have to 'climb' to reach it at the corner. 'Internal wiew' means 1 meter 'sight' to a stinky hole. The floor rug was totally wet and stinky from the constatly dripping-leaking heating tubes. At the end at the front desk the 'lady' just throw me back the credit card, but she was too busy to say 'thank you' because she was busy with some stupid chating with other staff members. I cant say 'typical Italian' because the hotel is full with Singalese, Balcanic etc. 'staff'.
Location, room size, most features of the room were excellent. The breakfast buffet was acceptable. The AC was inoperable and there were no window screens so we had the choice of mosquitos or excessive heat at night. Bed very hard.
The staff tried to be very helpful. They were wonderful. Any hotel in this location would be a be noisy outside--part of the price for the location. The lack of internet access, the bed was like a bowl (springs are shot), the lack of air/fan caused me to sleep with window wide open which let in a lot of noise--the bed and the noise caused me to lose sleep. Also, the walls are very thin and you could hear everything in the room across the hall--very noisy neighbors with children.
Location was great, with our room having a view directly over a side canal just off the Grand Canal. Took a gondola ride from our doorstep. Breakfast service was good, and WiFi reliable. Will definitely consider staying here again if we return to Venice. Tip: Although you can book a shared water taxi on a small boat that will let you off right at the hotel doorstep, we found that to be cramped, hot, and had a indeterminate wait time. As long as you don't have too much luggage, I recommend just taking the Alilaguna Blue line ferry to the Nove stop. From there, it's only about a 10 minute walk, with only 3 or 4 bridges (with stairs) to cross to make it to the hotel.
The staff was freindly, location was good
The breakfast was wonderful. The ambiance and decor was what I had imagined of Venice. Great location.
The location No Complaints All very good
convenient location; beautiful decoration and luxurious furniture in the room; good service of hotel staff; internet service. complicated structure of the building (hard to find room)
perfect location! nice breakfast
Very pleasant staff. We were a family of 4 and had a duplex room which was great.(room 105) There are no communal areas, just a small reception amd a small breakfast room. Nu loung/seating areas.
The breakfast, the location and athmosphere of the hotel was excelent. The staff was also very friendly. We asked for a bottle opener, and got it right away. The takeaway breakfast we asked for was pour, but it was prepared for 5 am. The bathroom is elegant, nice double shower. No view from the room, even if it was promised. But on the other hand, the hotel is in a good, nice location (easy to find it), and the room is very quite. (Except the noise of a contruction in the morning)
The decor of room & hotel in general, especially the breakfast room. Excellent location. Polite staff. We stayed in the Falier Suite and thought it was a little small. We've stayed in bigger junior suites. Bathroom was surprisingly small. It was unbelievably noisy very early in the morning. We had a late departure from Venice and had to leave our luggage at the hotel. Any other hotel I've ever stayed in has had a luggage room but we had to leave ours outside the reception.
Location is brilliant. Very Venetian and slightly quirky but with very modern bathrooms. We missed breakfast because we had to leave for the airport at 7am and it didn't start until 8am.
The hotel was in a lovely location which was also one of the few areas not to flood during high tide. A very pretty hotel with lovely quality furnishings. Good for a romantic getaway. The staff although helpful, put others before us even if we were first all the time, seemed to be dependant upon which languages were being spoken.
extremely professional staff, wonderful room, amazing location, a simply extraordinary hotel nothing
The Terrace Breakfast
This is a superb hotel, in a cracking location, litterally a couple of minutes walk from St Mark's Square, and seconds from the airport water bus stop.. The room and public areas were lovely. We saw no evidence of the staff being unhelpful, quite the contrary, they were very efficient, friendly and welcoming. Recommended. Nothing
comfort and design of the room, view breakfast is too expensive
The courtesy of the staff, nothing was too much trouble, the room was fabulous and the food superb. The location was just right, the hotel itself was a fantastic building and the decor was out of this world. No
the location, the history and interior fittings of the room,we did not really use any of the facilities we were not there long enough the receptionist said we had a restricted view, this actually meant no view , you could touch the building opposite, this was very dissapointing
Doing nothing for a week
The fantastic views across the venetian lagoon - main reason for choosing it. Service was also very high - they really wanted to help, even when the hotel was busy. A true 5* luxury hotel for a special occcasion. Everything was very expensive but it is a 5* hotel in Venice so you can expect nothing else! having a room ovrlooking the lagoon was great but you also get the noise - there is a major waterbus stop just outside (24 hour service) and a continuous flood of tourists passing so you are right in the middle of the bustle of Venice. Choose a room without the views ora hotel in a location away from San Marco if you want peace and quiet.
Location and nice hotel restaurant. We could celebrate the second birthday of our granddaughte with the song of the staff. Expensive
Definitely the location and the cadre, interior opulent surroundings. Professional and courteous concierge service. Comfortable large bed. The magnificent rooftop terrace. The only reservation was our room which although very large with high ceiling yet was quite dated, some worn out furniture, rusty heating grills, insufficient lighting, and mosquitoes. The bathroom was especially not up to par and to the high standard we expected.
Bathroom recently renovated with high quality fittings. Airconditioning in room was excellent and very welcome in the Venice heat. Breakfast good including cereal, fruit and juice. Room cleaning done well but was missed on one day. Lots of stairs to climb difficult with heavy bags. Bathroom had a low ceiling around 5' 6" which was very very difficult to manage as I'm 6' 3" tall. This was not mentioned in the listing, which would have allowed me to choose another hotel. Still some gaps in service and staff knowledge in what appears to be a new hotel setup - eg unable to give me a receipt for my payment.
The timeless atmosphere that it seemed to have
The location is great you are literally next to the Plaza and the Basilica. There are many great places to eat and you can walk anywhere. Also, the location is close to the water buses and taxi's. It's not glamorous but serviceable for a few nights. Rooms can get a little tight and getting to your room can be an adventure
location, our room 121 is biggest one, bed cover is clean a bit of smelly, everything is historied, desk, chair, sofa, even bed sheet (but the underlying bed cover is clean)
Lovely room with good facilities including jacuzzi Excellent location Very limited breakfast Kept waiting about 45minutes before we were taken to our room after we checked in Staff could have been friendlier
very good location for visiting any place in Venezia
Central position Breakfast very basic for the price.
Friendly, helpful staff. Close to major attractions in Venice. The hotel was spread out over several buildings. It had joining corridors on different levels and so there was a lot of walking, stairs and lifts to negotiate to access your room.
very good design of hotel breakfast was not good enough
Loved the location, very central. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The air conditioning throughout was brilliant. Enjoyed our stay very much. The breakfast was disappointing . We found the selection and quantity quite poor.
The room was excellent with a good view. There was not a good selection of food for vegetarians, which was disappointing considering the cost of staying at the hotel.
Good Location, Very Good Rooms
