Okay, we will have lunch, read a bit and we will get through this 5 hours.Then 2 hours later, we learned the flight was delayed another 3.5 hours. So almost 9 hours later, we finally flew out. $70.00 in meals plus checking our luggage for $25.00 each suitcase added up. Others were offered free checking of luggage due to limited overhead storage. Only learned of a free "snack pack" to give us some food after other passengers told us of it. It was not advertised. The plane ride was nice with a free drink and potato chip plus a free movie. We noticed that our plane was not full. We were told our plane was sent to New Mexico (State) were a plane was canceled. So, I ask why is our plane being canceled to assist another plane in New Mexico at our expense? Why were they not impacted and we were?"

We were told our original plane was sent to New Mexico (State) were a plane was canceled. So, I ask why is our plane being canceled to assist another plane in New Mexico State at our expense? Why were they not impacted and we were? A couple was flying to Seattle to "Be with their dying son" and there was an urgency. They too had to wait nearly 4 hours more. Was the flight from New Mexico was on time? SHAME SHAME SHAME."

He helped me put my luggage in the overhead bins, and continuously made everyone laugh. Also he complimented my eyes and that was cool considering I was very tired and feeling pretty antisocial. Boarding and deplaning were smooth and efficient. I really appreciated that there was no charge for checking a bag. I am certain that contributes to the ease of everyone getting on and off the plane. Cons: "During my flight from LAX to LHR I requested (pre-booked) a special meal (Asian Vegetarian). During the flight I was told there was no such request in their records and therefore I had to stay hungry for the entire duration of the flight. During my return flight from LHR to LAX the in flight entertainment system for my seat was not functional. I requested it to be reset several times and in spite of the hostess resetting it several times, it did not function. I had to stay without an entertainment system during the entire flight. This was my first time travel with Virgin Atlantic. I may never fly Virgin Atlantic again."

Pros: "I felt that they were very thoughtful about the fact that it was a long flight. We got two small meals, which was perfect, and even a little gift bag with a sleep mask and toothbrush and such in it. These were just a couple of the many nice touches included in the flight."

She was very obviously annoyed with nearly everything on that flight. The restrooms were beyond disgusting. I have never flown on a flight with a restroom that awful; it smelled horrible and was filthy. It was reminiscent of a portable outhouse, no exaggeration. The pillow on my seat had makeup on it."

Economy appears to have lost staff as it takes the entire flight to get a drink and dinner, the feeling you get is that you should just get on board and then sit quietly for 7 hours and not ask for anything. The entertainment does not have a very large selection and if you fly regularly does not seem to update very often."

Although the entertainment system had many options, going through lists and playing games required a lot of tapping, and in some cases pushing to make the system work. I felt like I had a woodpecker sitting behind me pushing on my head non-stop for over two hours. I was starting to go insane! Besides, it was so loud near the back of the plane that I couldn't hear anything through my cheap headphones."

Please have an option of food not swimming in sauces or cheeses. Plain organic chicken breast with steamed rice pilaf and steamed carrots would be nice. Maybe some steamed red potatoes and a piece of steak. An organic green apple for dessert. Forget the gluten, dairy, sugar or sauces that ruin a perfectly good ham or chicken and lettuce, tomato wrap! Or a salad swimming in dressing. We need to eat protein, not gluten for breakfast. Why not a hard boiled head!"

American's gates/terminals at LAX are also a pain--you never know if your flight will depart from the hinterlands of Tom Bradley terminal, or Terminal 4 or 6, which can mess you up with parking/security screening/scheduling. I will try to avoid flying American in the future. I didn't get any vouchers for the cancellation, either. BD"

When we said that it fit; the woman literally just scoffed, said "no" rudely, and walked away. We were polite, so why the rudeness?!! Never again AA."

I'm considering using a different booking site. The experience was the worst I've ever had. Kayak Alaska and American are getting bad marks from me!!!!"

Cons: "When we had to taxi back to the terminal to get more gas and sit there realizing we would be on the plane 5 plus hours instead of 2 1/2 hours, I wish they would have found a way to bring lunches onto the plane for purchase. I think everyone would buy. I brought a few snacks but not much. That would have turned the experience into excellent. They could have sent someone to grab yogurts or packed sandwiches. Would have helped."
