Our stay was for our 30th wedding anniversary, and the hotel staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome, & special. Although the prices seem a little high for most people, our stay was very enjoyable. We will be returning in the future. The only negatives to our trip were the Disneyland Railroad, Haunted Mansion, and River Boats were closed. Also, I was looking for a Disneyland Railroad Engineer hat, but was only able to find a Conductor's hat.. Lastly, there were no hats for the Disneyland Monorail.
Our room was great, and so was every cast member. I couldnt buy the throw pillow which was on each bed.
Love the themes and decor, and the perks that come with staying at a Disneyland resort hotel. The headboard that lights up and plays music (and serves as a great nightlight) is lovely. We had a room in the Adventure Tower facing Downtown Disney this time, and while we didn't care about the view (in this case, plants from the Adventure garden blocked pretty much anything we could see from the 2nd floor), what we didn't like was how loud the music was from Downtown Disney. We also learned that although we could only see a tiny amount of fireworks from Disneyland, we could hear all of them and they were pretty much as loud as they are when you're in the park. I'm still shocked that my kids slept through the music and fireworks that first night. On our third night, the older one was still awake when they started and used earplugs to get to sleep. The live music didn't stop until 10 pm even on weeknights, which meant we didn't get to enjoy the peace and quiet of the room (after being in the parks all day) until then. If you're not bothered by noise, it won't be a problem, but if you are, consider requesting a pool-view room.
overall the pools + the room were OK no breakfast, not enough characters plqying with kids unless you make it at Goofy's
Traveled as a multi-generational family group. We greatly appreciated how soundproof this hotel is. Plenty of water pressure at the right temperature too. And enough elevators for minimal wait time. We could have used electrical outlets for cell phones at the bedside but this is a minor improvement suggestion.
I pretty much LOVED everything about the Disneyland Hotel ... The hype is true We didn't get a discount with our Annual Passes
Great location close to Disneyland - easy walk to the park. Had a room that looked across Harbor Blvd toward Disneyland. Had an AWESOME view of the fireworks. Staff was friendly, pool was clean, just wished there was a hot tub in the Garden pool, not just Castaway Cove, too many kids in it to be relaxing for an adult, pool hours just right. AC in the room. Wished frig was larger, really only had room for a meal/day in it for 3 people, couldn't imagine if we had more people - a bigger frig would really have been nice. Despite the things I'd change, it was still the BEST VACATION EVER! Our bathroom sink was quite sloped, things would roll off it. Wish the frig was larger and that there was a hot tub in the Garden Pool.
Close to Disneyland, has a little shop for miscellaneous things you may have forgot to pack and souvenirs, spray park keeps kids entertained for hours, loved to kids suite! No breakfast provided. A Continental breakfast would be great. No complimentary shuttle service either. Small refrigerators.
Water area Not worth the money. Pay the extra $20 and stay at the courtyard mariott next door.
Liked the room even though we booked something different
Booed it after reading the reviews and was not disappointed. Staff was very friendly an the room was large. It was a short walk to Disneyland and our young children really enjoyed the water features.
Very clean, friendly staff. Would stay again Nothing
The only thing i liked was the tv Almost everything was outdated. Didnt like much. The bedding felt so gross; as if had been sitting there for weeks acumulating dust. Then the room felt really moist, almost humid when we walked in. The bathroom looked like it was for an old person. It said I got a deal after paying $200, but it seemed like it was a $100 room. In the pictures it looked like a $300-$400 room.... Super disappointed.
Our stay at Howard Johnson Anaheim was excellent! Check in was super fast. We arrived early and they allowed us to pre-check-in, hold baggage, and hang out at poolside. Water features were excellent for the kids. While at Disneyland (which is only a short walk away) kids kept asking when we were going back to the hotel to the kid water playground. Staff was friendly and helpful. Not so much a didn't like, but more so a would've liked- it would be awesome if food and drinks were available at poolside and water playground.
This hotel was 10 minute walk to the gate. It was nice and easy even at night. The staff was nice and very efficient. The Castaway Lagoon was a fun was to spend the morning or afternoon. My 5 yr old twins had a blast. WiFi was horrible. Walls were thin. The people above us were so loud my kids had a hard time sleeping the last night. Cleaning crew left cart in hall starting at 8 in the morning was still there 1 pm and did not seem to have been moved nor was there anyone in any of the rooms cleaning
Outstanding personable staff, very well kept, a true classic like the park across the street. It is designed for family's with small children, and sometimes they get loose! Fortunately all were exhausted and and quiet by a reasonable time. Didn't really notice many, if any, teenagers.
The children's water park was so much fun for the family. The room was clean ,bright, and comfy also Loved the free parking! No continental breakfast
clean. comfy bed no light switch to shut off deck light
How close it was to Disneyland, Disney California and Downtown Disney. Right across the street from the park entrance. Spacious room, comfortable beds, blackout drapes,
Friendly staff, clean room, wonderfully comfortable beds. Also the availability of computers and printer for return flight booking passes
Ideal for a small family to enjoy Disney without paying the cost of being on site. Sleeping in is hard with everyone leaving to make park open all at the same time.
The location was great for getting to the Disney parks. The hotel was a 10 minute walk from my hotel room door to the park gates. There are many restaurants within walking distance.
great for disneyland adventure
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Clean rooms, comfortable beds. Easy walking distance to Disneyland. There was a hotel being built right next door, which meant waking up to construction early every morning. It sounded like there was hammering right outside our window. However, this wasn't the hotel's fault, just an annoying coincidence. Overall it was a great place to stay.
Walking distance to Disney Not breakfast complementary no microwave in the rooms
The room was very nice and the view was amazing. No complaints, we got a great deal and would stay here again.
Close to theme park with early entrance Very noisy, staff unappreciative of guests, staff non responsive to complaints, room service quality is mediocre.
I stayed at the Paradise Pier Hotel several times. I love how roomy it is and very relaxing! I like the view from the rooms...one side you can watch World of Color with the television playing the sounds for the show! We stay with a family of four, there is a sofa that turns into a bed. The toiletries are very nice!!! If you stay at a Disney property, you can use the special entrance from the Grand Californian. The Surfside Lounge is a bar/ snack shop you can warm up food (there is a microwave!) and pick up utensils (fork, knife, spoon or condiments). I personally like the vending machines on the ground floor..it is in a room by itself! PCH Grill is great during breakfast and looks fun at dinner time too! I whole hearted recommend staying here with everybody!! Upper level soda machines take only credit cards. Wish there was more food eateries.
The lobby was beautiful, the service was excellent, the location was perfect for visiting the parks and downtown Disney, and the room was big. While the room was large, it wasn't anything amazing for the price.
We loved our stay here. Our family can't wait to return! We loved the pools, the closeness to the park (our room over looked it!) and the on site character breakfast. Also loved the bunk beds for kids There is a Loud speaker in the park that they do announcements on. You could here that muffled early in AM or late at night from our room. Needs a new shower head.
I liked that it was very close to downtown disney and the convention center. We didn't even need a car. We put our please service sign out at about 7:00am and came back at 2:00pm and the room still wasn't ready. They didn't stop by until about 3:30 which I think is a little too long. I wish you also had a vending machine for when the grocery store is closed. Coming from a different time zone it was hard to get a quick snack.
Room cleanliness. Pool near Disneyland Everything was great
Location It was dirty, full of bugs and needs some serious renovating.
Location to Disneyland, Clean updated rooms. Clean towels everyday, You now have to pay for parking and it was not stated on line. You have to pay for some things at the contental breakfast. If paying ...not great choices either.
Highly recommended, just across Disney street. Large room with fridge, quiet, clean ... excellent The breakfast: have to pay for milk and cereal!
Local and clean
Location and cleanless and overall design has an iverall good feeling Just better the complimentary breakfeast its really not that good just donuts and cofee or orange juice. And the hidden fees once you get there you would have thought hotel included free parking but charged 9 plus tax and checking in early additional days parking
Close to Disneyland and restaurants. Safe in room. Towels nice and thick. Clean rooms and property. Handy store. Just barely enough parking spaces, and it costs $9 per day. Store items a bit pricey.
Close to disneyland
Incredibly clean room on the first floor (of 2). We were there for 5 days, and originally we thought we'd only be there at night after full days at Disney. We ended up coming back each day for about an hour or two during the hottest part of the day (and to avoid some crowds!). A small fridge to keep things cool, the bed was very comphy, a lot of pillows to choose from. Some other guests would slam the doors occasionally, but nothing the hotel can really do about that. We didn't have a car so didn't have to worry about parking. Looked like there was plenty of room, slots were probably a little closer together than my car would've like but that's just me being a little picky. It is litterally 100 yards from the Disney tickets stands, or you can buy in the lobby. Service was pretty quick checking in and out. The little shop has a bunch of travel items and small snacky items and plenty to drink. Pretty much anything a traveler would need. Only problem, and this is really minor, is that the toilet would slip occasionally and not fill the tank in order to flush again. Simple fix, just take off the top and push down on the pump thing, works good. No other problems with our stay!
its availability to my needs without going far
We stayed here since we couldn't get into (what used to be) our favorite place a few doors down. From the second we got there everything was pleasent and clean. The front desk got us sorted out quick, which was much appreciated as we had just spent 10 hours on a small motorcycle, and our room was nice and quiet. I had read some other reviews about the "outrageous" parking fee which turned out to be $9 a night which didn't bother me. They have valet, but you don't have to use them if you don't want to. They sell 2-5 day park hopper tickets right there for the same price as the gate so I didn't have to wait at the line for tickets which was great!!! There is a small attached cafe which sells the typical Starbucks-ish fare and has some grocery items and souvineers as well. The walk to the park is almost the closest walk you could have, only one hotel closer. If you are still awake after your day at Disneyland there are plenty of channels on the TV, and they are clear. Overall we had a great expirience and this will be our first choice on future visits. I really don't have any complaints. Some will complain about the parking rate, but as far as I can tell everyone is charging about the same so to me it was a non-issue.
Proximity to Disneyland can hardly be beat. Standard rooms are decent sized, modern enough amenities. Rooms were clean and housekeeping did a nice job. Friendly front desk and valet, always saying hello. Would DEFINITELY consider staying here again, especially with a decent rate. Not exactly a bargain price, but you're paying to be so close to Disneyland. The surface of the pool deck was a little dingey, but the pool and hottub were both nice enough and in a great spot for viewing the fireworks.
Great location Small room for our two girls and us.
Parking very convienent and We liked the fact that the room had a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. Concierge and parking attendants were excellent. Keep up the great work.
Great value for the price. About 1 1/2 miles from Disneyland entrance. A few restaurants within walking distance You have to pay for parking
Room size. Pool. Cleanliness. Friendly, thorough housekeeping. Great shower head Cable channel system. No refill on sweeter and creamer for coffee on second morning.
Very clean and large room. Very close walking distance to Disneyland. Very quiet.
Comfortable and close to Disneyland. The pool didn't open until 9, which means we couldn't use i, because by that time we had to be ready for the park. My kids were up at 6:30 and wanted to swim before Disneyland. It was very disappointing for them and we pretty much has nothing to do for several hours.
Staff were very friendly and rooms are very clean. They had the room ready quickly. I did not like to parking charge. I think parking should me included in the hotel service
I love how close this hotel is to Disneyland resort. Sure it's not on DLR property, but It is probably the same walking distance from the parks to this hotel as it is to the on property hotels. The family suite was comfy and spacious. We would definitely stay here again. Parking/Valet fee, but it's cheaper than what Disney charges!
I like the proximity to Disneyland, the security of the hotel and the cleanliness of the room. On the first day of my stay the person that cleaned my room had and artistic side. Whoever the person was made flowers with washcloths and hand towels plus the facial and toilet tissue, it was really cute and showed that the person took time to care about my stay in the hotel. I have stayed at this hotel numerous times and would do so again...Also has a spectacular view of the Disneyland fireworks at night. I was unhappy that I received a handicap accessible bathroom. I am not handicapped nor do I need a special shower. The shower head was detachable but low for wheelchair accessibility and I didn't have the ability to switch to the appropriate height shower head with was in place. I felt the room should have been reserved for someone that needed the assistance. I was also unhappy with the maid service on the second day of my stay...my personal products were moved about in the shower and I do not feel comfortable with strangers handling my products and moving them to a location more convenient for the person cleaning the shower this also occurred on the third day.
Location We had no hot water and we had ants and other bugs in the room and it's was very loud
The price and the amenities were quite satisfactory. It's not the ritz, but it was quite appropriate for what we needed. Sometimes heard a toilet flush next door, but nothing that bothered us at all. There were a couple hairs on the floor near the bathroom - not particularly appealing, however for the price it didn't bother us too much.
Staff was excellent Air conditioning not good
Close proximity to Disneyland, and very helpful staff. Rooms were clean and well cared for. Beds were hard and uncomfortable.
Pros = the location, mini-fridge, microwave, price, size of TV, the room was generally clean We had spiders and a few coach roaches.
When I requested a working fridge it was promptly brought The maintenance guy didn't know if the fridge would work, it stank inside and out. The sheets were dirty. There wasn't good air circulation and the bathroom smelled like mold.
We will definitely choose Castle Inn again
Great hotel close to Disneyland. An 11 minute walk gets you to the gates. The rooms were clean and equipped with regular hotel amenities. Internet was fast and reliable.
Easy check in and check out. Walls so thin you can hear everything. We were on the first floor with a family above us. They kids were constantly jumping around and pounding on the floor. This lasted all night and early morning. We had to call the front desk twice and still didn't resolve the problem. They should really consider the way they place people in the rooms. Someone with little ones should probably be on the first floor so there aren't any disturbances. This was our first stay here and will definitely be our last. We were very unhappy with this stay.
Staff was friendly. Room was clean. Within walking distance of Disneyland. Free parking on site. Mini fridge didn't keep contents very cold. Only ice machine I saw was on the ground floor near the elevator, and our room was located on the top floor.
the text from the staff about the room was great..check in was super fast and easy, and the room was really nice which was a surprise for one of these cheaper hotels the pool is not great
large comfortable room, excellent location to disneyland
The staff are absolutely friendly. It's currently going through renovations, so not all rooms are consistent with one another. Can't wait until March 2017when the renovation is over. During my last stay, I was lucky enough to get a new room and it was amazing. I've stayed at Ménage 5+ times and every stay has been pleasant. Highly recommended.
The workers were awesome It wasn't too clean
24 hour pool. Pool is nicely heated for night swimming. Beds are comfortable. Near Disneyland could see the fireworks at night from Disney. Not enough amenities. Got a two bed room. Only got one coffee, one lotion, one shampoo and one conditioner. The tub needs to be fixed. The shower head was broken, the tub was chipped all over. Hair in the tub too. Didn't look clean. No bathroom mat, floors were wet.
I liked how close the hotel is to Disneyland It's rundown and needs some loved. Stayed here a few years ago and they rooms were a lot cleaner. The bathroom looked nasty with hard water everywhere. I do not plan to stay here again
The bed, area and bathroom was clean most importantly You can hear the street from your room and the outside ac fan was load. I found the bathroom mirror area had a bit of lint just in the air . The room just doesn't feel cozy.
The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean. This hotel felt like a safe enviornment. Another plus is that we could see the Disneyland fireworks from our room. The elevator was old and had a weird smell.
Pool Cleanliness of room/bathrooms Pounding on door in middle of night, and our room phone ringing at 4:00 AM!
The staff was so friendly, good proximity to Disneyland, the room was decorated well and well kept It wasn't free
Location is walking distance to Disneyland. Advertised 24 hour pool was closed without notice on website during our stay. Because this was the main reason I stayed here over other nearby places, I requested a voucher for breakfast, which I was given and appreciated. I was then scolded by staff for taking the wrong, hot breakfast and told that i was only entitled to bread and fruit.
I found bed bug in my bed. I was bite on my leg arm and face. It was very inching and terrible.
Very close to Disneyland Shower was broken, broke lights and electrical outlets
Close to Disneyland. Bus service to park was good. Staff wasn't friendly. Did not give you any information about the hotel or travel to Disneyland.
The location is excellent in relation to the park, especially for the price. The room was very hot and humid. Shower was a bit dirty, no trash can in the bathroom, etc. Not a "magical" hotel by any means, but definitely got the job done for just being at the park a few days.
I stayed at the Anaheim Plaza Hotel and Suites for 1 night. I had to pay for parking, which is $10/day, I was double charged for my room, and had to pay a $100 deposit. I called to complain about being double charged and was told that it should be released in 5 business days. If not, I should call my credit card company and complain so that they will return the charge. That's awesome!! Thank you so much!!
Location was good! One block down from the cross walk, but actually better than right across because we used the crosswalk by the hotel to go across rather than fight with 100 other people to go across the direct one. Lots of towels in our room when we arrived. The breakfast was a great option before Disney for us. It was 9.99 for adults and free for kids so it was perfect for my husband and I with our 2 kids. Pool looked really nice but we came in late, did one day at Disneyland, and left at 5am the next morning. Dated hotel. Door and curtains let in light which we couldn't do anything about. Carpet was very dirty and possibly wet. We couldn't tell. My husband took a shower and then came out to fix the kids bed and then a few other things and got In bed and needed to wipe his feet off and the towel was filthy! It's time To replace the carpets!
We've been staying here every time we come to visit Disneyland and find that you get a great deal every time. It's within walking distance to Disneyland and staff is always friendly. It's not too fancy but it's a place to sleep after visiting the parks all day.
Easy access to Disneyland and purchase of tickets at front desk. Room was hot with afternoon sun exposed wall. Needed to run the room air conditioner continuously.
1. The staff were not friendly and polite. The service at the front desk was unpleasant. And then you got the door key card and after walked almost half a mile to reach your room, you found the card didn't work, then they requested you to walk another half mile to the front desk to replace the key card. 2. The internet worked on the first day, but extremely slow, then completely died on the second day. The staff promised to fix it in 30 minutes, but it was never fixed throughout my stay (five days). Every time you asked, they asked you to go to a nearby McDonald's to use wireless, which was more than one mile away. I had to rely on my phone to receive and send emails.
Location. Old TV, no Free Wi-Fi, shabby paint jobs.
Clean Sketchy people, not well lite, very old and outdated. Should be torn down and replaced. Not what I expected for the price.
The staff were understanding, but their hands were tied as far as the new management's expensive policies. The new management charges $10 per night for parking, and a $100 deposit on your room! All fees for cribs and extra beds went up by $10. The facilities are old and run down. The cable was spotty and in and out on every channel. The wifi was uselessly slow. It was a ridiculously bad stay for us.
Location Was a bit dated and the bathroom shower was terrible the lack of water pressure. Maid forgot to clean our room and just dropped off towels after I called
Location - good walking distance for Disneyland and convention Says free wifi but you connect and get no internet. Front desk told me it was location of my room.
Plus: very close to Disneyland. Rooms are grungy and in need of an update. It feels more like a motel, carpets dirty bed is shaky and lumpy.
We loved the location and the staff was nice and also attentive. Breakfast was good with many choices. Room was ok, sufficient for a night or two. Bedding seemed a bit scratchy, it was crazy-making for my sensory sensitive child.
So close to Disney, nice pool and a laundry Stompy kids upstairs, but as I have some of my own so it comes with the package! Sure it isn't a 4 star hotel, but the location and value are the points to focus on
Had a great experience at this hotel. We first stayed here in April for our Anniversary and again in September for my birthday. Rooms very clean and comfy. Breakfast served in the morning is very good with a wide variety. Disneyland Annual Passholder, so very convenient to walk across the street to the park. Enjoyed our stay so much will be back again in October.
Breakfast was great. Closeness to Disneyland and how quite the room was.
The only good thing about this place is that it is directly across from Disney resorts. Had to pay $20 for parking( for 2 nights), did not offer breakfast like advertised. No one told us, we had to read a small note in the room that "breakfast" was a grab bag of sausage sandwich( that had to be microwaved in your own room), granola bar, an apple, & orange juice. We went to the Starbucks down the street & got yogurt, fruit cup & oatmeal( they didn't add water to it & we just added hot water to it later). You are just paying for conveince with this hotel.
The location was great, The staff friendly and the rooms clean. We were able to get adjoining rooms as we traveled with kids and grand kids. restaurants near by made the adventure less of a hassle. The rooms are a little cramped and no microwave or refrigerator. however very nice location We would recommend and will stay again next time we travel to Disneyland.
Location Pillows, bedding
Very, very nice room! Well appointed in every aspect! Twin bunk beds were a huge hit with the kids! Bathroom was absolutely ideal for family with kids- 2 sinks in central area, 1 room with huge walk in shower, 1 area on opposite side of bathroom with tub and shower combo. Getting ready in morning was SO much faster and much less hassle. Parking garage was so neat and clean, valet and bell staff helpful and incredibly courteous. Overall- just as nice or better than official Disney hotels and within a quick walk to the gates of the park. This trip we stayed 1 night here, a couple nights at a Disney hotel...our kids like marriott better. Very high priced
Staff was extremely friendly all the way around. Room was very comfortable. Breakfast was ok not great. Very good overall experience A little bit of a walk from Disney
Close to Disneyland and nice restaurants! Clean, good price. Breakfast horrible, same food every morning, having to wait to refill breakfast! Pool was down do to reconstruction. Elevators took for ever only one was working. No gift shop.
Right across the street from the entrance to Disneyland. Very simple breakfast. Bread, fruit, cereal, boiled eggs, beverages.
Close to disneyland Water pressure and a towel with a clump of hair
EASY access to Disneyland. GREAT value. My wife and I went down for 2 days for her birthday. When I bring my entire family and some extended down to Disneyland, this is THE place
There was quite a large space between the door and the door frame so not only did a lot of light come in but tons of noise. Dont plan on sleeping in with all the kids getting ready for Disneyland.
Room for five and plenty of towels. Directly across the street from the walk in entrance to Disney. You can't get closer to the main gates, even at the Grand Californian. When I decided to add a night to our stay, they tried to charge me a higher rate than I saw on their website. Had to ask for the manager. The breakfast is awful! Literally just hard boiled eggs, toast and whole apples & oranges, plus cereal. The noise from neighbors in the courtyard was deafening on our first floor room. Mattresses were very thin. The sofa bed had what looked like cockroach droppings on the sheets.
It's across the street from the park. The worst mattress ever. I got zero sleep because of the hard, thin mattress. Would not book again.
Location- restaurants nearby, disneyland is a 5 minute walk away Breakfast- small variety
The room was nice and clean . Good view for fireworks . We had two vehicles and I had to park at the Sheraton for $40 for 2 nights . Parking at hotel was $9.00 pwe night .Also the jacuzzi was like warm water . The chlorine smell In the indoor pool really strong . Breakfast was a cold pastry and cereal . Won't stay here again !
