Not so Thrifty
Pros: There was some damage to the car when it was returned. The local Thrifty outlet did not delay me as a result, but had me fill out a simple form for their claims adjuster. (It remains to be seen, though, how this claim will be handled, since I did not take Thrifty's coverage when I rented.)
Cons: I rented from Thrifty because it showed the lowest price. What I did not know is that unlike some other car-rental companies I have used, Thrifty charges extra for your spouse to be a driver. It cost be more than $400 extra on a one-month rental for my wife to be allowed to drive. That means Thrifty was actually MORE expensive than other companies. Be sure to read the fine print from whatever company you use.
It took about 30 minutes to get from the pick-up location at the airport to the Thrifty rental location that was described as "on airport."
The grill of the car was covered with bugs when I picked it up. Apparently, there had been little or no effort to clean them off when the car was washed.
