Niagara Falls, NY, features tarmacked roads with wide lanes. There are barely narrow streets in the city. Therefore, a standard sedan is recommended for regular use within the city. These tarmacked roads can become slippery during winter. Hence, consider getting an SUV during winter to ensure easy navigation and reduce the chances of getting stuck in the snow. Additionally, these vehicles can effectively navigate all streets within the city without getting stuck or scratched.
If you travel with children, add baby car seats to your rental budget for the safety of your little ones. Children below the age of four need safety seats, while those weighing 40 - 100 pounds (up to 6 years) should be restrained in booster seats. Shoulder and lap seat belts are required for children over 100 pounds. You can request children's safety seats when you book your car rental.
When driving Niagara Falls car rentals, it is essential to note that the speed limit is often 55 mph on roads, which has not been indicated. Most drivers always find themselves on the wrong side of the law on such roads when they are ticketed for driving over the speed limit. The Niagara Falls Boulevard passing through Amherst and Tonawanda Town has a speed limit of 45– 40 mph. This is effective between the Niagara County line and I-290. Therefore, watch out for the speed limit signs when driving through the roads in Niagara Falls in your rental car to avoid trouble with the law.
Car hire companies only give out their vehicles to licensed drivers aged 18 years and above. Young drivers between the ages of 21 and 24 should be aware of the requirements companies have set for them. They must have valid driver's licenses with at least one year of driving experience. A surcharge may apply, and the amount differs from provider to provider. Younger drivers might be denied specific cars, such as full-size SUVs, minivans, specialty cars, and premium SUVs, depending on the terms and conditions of the rental agreement.
When you are aboard your rental car in Niagara Falls, you’ll need to park it once you get to your destination. Most lots allow parking at a fee upon entry. In addition, free parking can be found at the curbside on Old Main Street and Buffalo Avenue, as well as the Power Plant Ruins. Therefore, depending on your destination, you can always find an ideal parking spot to leave your rental car. However, ensure you understand the parking policies of the lot to avoid getting your vehicle towed.

Pros:
I liked how pleasant the staff was in niagara when we picked up the car. I liked the car we had.Cons:
The drop off in Toronto was horrible. We had to keep driving around the block in downtown until we spied a teeny tiny sign that said enterprise. Once in the parking ramp it was really confusing where to go to drop off the car. I am still concerned that I am going to check my credit card statement and find a charge for the parking ramp. Horrible drop off experience.2 locations in Niagara Falls

Oct 2019
Pros:
No line up at counterCons:
I did not feel I got the car I paid for. Our original plans were to be travelling with four people all with large suitcases. Website provided the indication I was to receive a fullsize luxury vehicle. A Chrysler 300 or similar. It ended up being only the two of us. What I received was a very small crammed Cadillac XT SUV. It would have seated four small people comfortably, It only held our two suitcases and definitely would not have accommodated us as per our original booking. I questioned why we were being a given such a small car (small SUV) at the counter at time of pick up and the representative looked at me with a disgusted look and said "It is a Cadillac !!", to make me feel like I should be ashamed and that I was wrong to ask for the larger luxury vehicle that I booked. If it was a Cadillac Escalade, a Lincoln Navigator or any vehicle similar in size to a Chrysler 300 I would have been perfectly fine. When I walked out to the parking lot, the Hertz section had only five vehicles, all small cars and our small SUV. We would have had a serious problem if it was the two couples as per our original travel plans. With no other vehicles in the lot any further discussion or argument on the matter would have bee futile. We loaded our two suitcases (1 large and 1 medium size) in the back, as they just barely fit and drove off with mindset that I had been taken advantage of and that I just had to put up with it.9.6 Wonderful

After paying more to get the car at the airport, nobody was working the counter. Waited 45 min arguing with Hertz on the phone. Someone showed up to pick up keys from drop box. Drove us to another location. Missed meeting and lost lots of money. Car had around 40000 miles and big burn hole in seat. One location in Niagara Falls

When I dropped off the car I had made sure everything was nice and clean and filled up the tank more than I needed to in order to be as courteous as possible. When the staff member came back in from inspecting the car he claimed there was a stone chip in the windshield. I asked him to show me because I did not see anything. He pointed to a bug splatter. We argued but it didn't matter. I wrote a claim saying that I disagreed. I am concerned that some crazy charge is going to end up on my card that is not valid. Worst car rental experience I have ever had.2.0 Poor
