When booking online prior to travel I tried to enter my AAA number for a 20% discount and it was not accepted any of the 3 attempts, so I had to finish the reservation at full price. Since then I have only been given a complete and frustrating runaround from Hertz on trying to get any type of discount. I won't ever rent from them again and have told every family and friend the same.

Pickup in Mesa was very good. Only 1 seriously overworked employee on duty, but he was wonderful. I never received any confirmation of my rental. I drove the car for 8 weeks with no legal proof from Hertz of my rental. ALL my attempts to contact Hertz about this were met with telephone run-arounds. This is the worst customer service from Hertz I have ever had. The car itself was clean and safe for my family. I thank Hertz for the rental and Kayak for facilitating a great opportunity for me.

I didn't receive the car that I requested. I showed up to pick up the rental in Mesa AZ and then the front desk employee decides to tell me at the last second that they don't have the size of vehicle that I requested over a month in advance. I had no choice but to take the smaller vehicle for my long distance 1 way trip. It was extremely frustrating and inconsiderate. I will never rent a vehicle from kayak or hertz ever again! I will make sure to inform others of this blatant disregard of your customers requests so they don't have to experience the same inconsiderate service.

Hertz is understaffed and disorganized compared to competing rental agencies. My husband called me a Karen but so be it. I waited 45 min to drop off when no one came, no sign or # to call and impossible to get through the 800 #. Luckily another agency next to Hertz the location hasn’t been staffed in 2 years and to just leave the keys in the drop box. Another hertz comes to get the keys the next day. It would have been nice to know this upon booking! May not be worth the few $ to use them.

The car had several scratches/dents and was filthy. The inside had white pet hair all over.

Wrong car to begin with have to drive back hundreds of miles to get right one . Muddy car had to get the car wash immediately embarrassing. My flight got canceled had to drive back 100 miles from Prescott Arizona to Mesa because they wouldn't answer the phone for weeks to extend the rental. They said it was on hold because vehicle was not registered on customer service. I will never rent with this company again so unorganized

Our flight got delayed and we got into the airport after 11:30 p.m. The Hertz office was still open and we got our car. Easy drop-off process too. We did the "managers special" deal and they gave us a Mustang convertable - perfect for driving around Phoenix. The rental car was one of the best parts about our trip.

There needs to be more help at the check out counter. There was only one person available and he was dealing with many issues behind the scenes. It took an hour before I even got to the counter to begin the check out process. I think the person working there was as working as efficiently as possible, but the system seems to have failed him and the customers.

I had a good experience. Car was ready for me. No waiting for pick up. Drop off was really good as well. Car was easy to handle and it was comfortable.
