A very good experience
Pros: Fast and friendly service. Good gas mileage.

Pros: Car was nice for our trip. Did almost 1000 miles on car and no issues with it mechanically. Gas mileage was great.\ Agent on turnin took my word for low fuel in car, not full tank as paperwork showed.
Cons: The agent did not explain the toll road guizmo behind the rear view mirror. Paid first time cash as didn't know had a ez pass, like fast pass in California. Gas mileage was not correct on form when picked up car.

Pros: First, the vehicle - a Kia Sportage AWD, super-nice that, somehow, ended up with 440 miles in a 4-day visit, 10.9 gallons to fill? ECO mode is something else on this. I thought I'd hired a compact, but, that was the special, at the price quoted on KAYAK for the compact, so I was pretty delighted by that. Actually a bit stupefied for a moment when he stated it was the same price; I had to ask the agent to clarify, and, still in disbelief, asked what the upgrade fee was yet a third time. I think it pleased him a little to smile so broadly and hand over the keys. We made several short trips around the Portland area and down to NH, just a great ride, handled well enough on the swoopy back roads between Sebago and Exeter, and the great visibility was a joy while we enjoyed the sights along the way. Check-in was well-designed, perhaps the best I've ever seen. Greenville/Spartanburg (S.C., if you didn't know) has a similar setup and I'd thought it clever there. Under a 5-minute walk from baggage claim to the rental service counter. After a brief wait, like 15 minutes, we were getting checked in and shortly, off on our trip! We arrived about noon, and the queue was not terrible at all. I did not know that Hertz and Dollar were a joint outfit, so, you might go a while between "Dollar" signs, but Hertz had signs up every ten yards or so, follow the yellow brick road, it works out. Likewise, navigating the parking garage to your hire.
Cons: Well, no wait would be better I suppose, not that I'm complaining, 'cause I'm not. The parking garage is awfully dark, don't you think? That's about it, I really couldn't be happier
