Poor Return Service
Pros: Price was good.
Cons: The place was supposed to open at 6 a.m. on that Sunday morning. The two workers arrives AT 6 a.m. to open. There was no sense of urgency and I had a 7:10 a.m. flight to catch.

Closes at midnight and doesn't bather to tell you.
Cons: They knew when my flight was and didn't bother to tell me that they closed five minutes after I landed. I ended up last minute booking with Budget and saved $100.

Pros: The staff was friendly and put a smile on my face both picking up my car and dropping it off.
Cons: The person who rented my car previous to me smoked in it so it took a day for that smell to leave.

Pros: Friendly service, great car
Cons: Only complaint is the very long ling at pick-up counter. That said, employees kept the line moving faster than I expected, and overall experience was good.

Cons: My trip was due to my father's sudden decline in health. He died while I was there, and I was unable to return the rental car at the time it was due. They agreed to allow me to keep the car until the following day but charged a MUCH higher rate to keep the car until the following day. Bonnie Mulfinger

Pros: Friendly staff made pick and drop off simple and quick. The shuttle driver was nice, safe, and prompt.

Great service from Dollar, I should have gotten in
Pros: All was great except the fact that I should have purchased additional insurance from kayak for $9 instead of the $27 they charged at the counter.

Issue with Dollar at the St. Louis airport
Cons: This is the 2nd time I have rented from Dollar in the past couple of months in St. Louis and will never do it again. First they always try to offer an upgrade which looks like a good deal on the surface. But when you probe a bit further it ends up being 50-75% higher than the good price I received when renting the car on your site. Then they offered me the insurance coverage. When I told them my insurance provider covered me in a rental the agent asked how much my deductible was on the policy. I told the her it was a $1,000. She explained that if I paid an additional $9 it would cover the deductible. I commented and said that sounded like a good deal and took the extra coverage only to find out when she printed the invoice for me to sign it was $9 per day. I had an early flight when returning the car. I arrived at the Dollar lot to find they were closed. There were instructions on the gate that said to park the car in a commercial lot across the street, put the keys in a drop box and a shuttle would take me to the airport and a $9 charge would automatically be charged to my credit card. Well there was not drop box to be found. Fortunately the shuttle driver said she would see to it the keys were turned in to Dollar. I had no choice but to leave it with her so hopefully the keys made it back to Dollar. Another couple was returning their car at the same time and were equally confused about the whole process. There was not not a single sign in the area that directed us to where the Dollar lot was located. Fortunately I was somewhat familiar with the area and figured out where it was after driving around for 30 minutes looping between the airport terminal and Dollar's lot. You should take this car company off your program.

Cons: I went in with a reservation for around $50 dollars and ended up getting charged $137. For one day! I won't be using Dollar again.

Cons: When I purchased this on line, it was from your web-site offering a full size vehicle; I specifically chose to take the higher priced model for safety purposes. Upon arrival, I was told it was an on demand car and was given a SCION! And to get the vehicle I reserved, I'd have to pay twice as much. Absurd! Your misleading bait and switch has cost you a customer. i will NEVER use you again and will share this with everyone I know.

Airport Pickup Confusing
Pros: The staff was very friendly. Everyone from pick up to drop off was great. I will use Dollar again now that I am clearer about the process.
Cons: The pick-up was confusing. It was late at night and there was not much information about how to get the the shuttle. The directions, information about how to get the shuttle could have been more helpful. Very intimidating.

Pros: Drop-off service was very quick and I was keen to get my flight.
Cons: Dollar shuttle service from the airport to the pickup was pathetic. I waited 25 minutes and no shuttle showed up. I had to call the Dollar office and get the driver to come over. I was correctly positioned for pickup and the problem was 100% due to a useless shuttle bus driver.

Seamless experience from pick up to drop off
Pros: The service, the ease of picking up the car - I've been a Dollar Express member for years and my experience at the St Louis Airport location was one of the best.
Cons: Absolutely nothing. Everything was perfect.

Only rental car company FAR from airport
Pros: Decent car; good rate
Cons: The reason dollar STL is cheaper in STL than other car rental cos is that all the car companies are located together - and then Dollar FAR from airport . Very difficult to find to return car. Staff rude . Plus much less "shuttle buses" than other companies. Waited forever for pickup.

Pros: I cannot tell you how great the customer service was. Angelo (St. Louis, MO location) was amazingly helpful and the sweetest thing! I will be sure to use Dollar Rental for all of my future business!

Pros: Our agent went above and beyond to make our experience the best possible. He gave us a nice upgrade when we didn't have to, but we appreciate it.

Friendliest Rental Car Service
Pros: Everyone was so nice, from the minute we were picked up from the airport to when we got our keys. Even on the return, completely different set of workers, every one of them smiling, nice, & just excellent customer service. I will absolutely use them again.

Pros: The shuttle driver was great and felt bad what happened
Cons: After traveling overnight from Hawaii to St. Louis with my young son I was told they couldn't rent the car to me without a proof that I had a round trip ticket. I didn't have one because I drove my wife's car from Missouri to California to ship to Hawaii where we live. Because they wouldn't rent the car to me I had to have my ex wife come pick me and our son up at the airport.

Wouldn't accept my driver's license
Cons: I recently moved to New Hampshire and had to surrender my former drivers license for a temporary paper copy. The temp card has been well accepted (including TSA), although I am sometimes asked for additional identification. The clerk and supervisor at Dollar rental in St. Louis refused it, even after I offered secondary sources of identification. They suggested I take the shuttle back to the airport, find the police station, and request their validation of my drivers license. Instead, I went to Avis, where my license was never questioned.

I hate counter up-selling.
Pros: Great price. Nice people. Car was fine. I like this place because it's a bit less money and the cars have always been perfect.
Cons: It seems it should be fast to swipe my card, check my license, and hand me keys, but there is always a bunch of working with the computer, checking, attempted up-sell, and discussion. The time wasted picking up the car sucks. This isn't particular to Dollar. They all do it. Also, I payed for kayak insurance, and apparently that is their favorite up-sell, so we had some transparently false discussion about whether your insurance or theirs really covered everything. More time wasted. Not nearly as bad as Avis, thankfully.

Pros: That I got a good car for a good value. The best part, no pressure for extras. Simply, do you want them or not. That alone will make me want to go to Dollar for my next car rental.

MIXED RESULTS - THE GOOD THE BAD THE UGLY
Pros: UPON RETURN, DESK PERSON AND DRIVER WERE VERY ACCOMMODATING WHEN I WAS RUNNING LATE FOR MY FLIGHT.
Cons: PICK UP LOCATION FOR DOLLAR IS NOT WHERE ALL OTHER CAR RENTALS PICK UP. NO SIGNAGE FOR DOLLAR. WHEN ASKING FOR DOLLAR PICK UP LOCATION AT AIRPORT GOT WRONG ANSWER(S). DRIVER WAS SYMPATHETIC, SAID HE HAS REPORTED PICK UP ISSUES TO MANAGEMENT MANY TIMES. DESK STAFF DIDN'T EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE MY COMMENT. CAR WAS DIRTY (FRONT OF CAR HAD BUG STAINS AND DIRT) HAD DIFFICULTY FINDING LOCATION ON GOOGLE FOR RETURN BECAUSE THE PAPERWORK SAID ST LOUS, BUT YOUR LOCATION IS IN SAINT ANN!!!!! OVERALL THE EXPERIENCE SUCKED LATER WHEN I MENTIONED THE PICK UP PROBLEM TO ANOTHER TRAVELER, THEY SAID THEY DON'T USE DOLLAR ANY MORE BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUES (AMONG OTHERS?)

Advertisement read $15 per day, I rented for 2 day
Pros: Pickup/drop off drivers were very friendly and helpful.

Pros: The car got great mileage. The drop off went well and I felt like the person knew what they were doing.
Cons: When picking up the customer service was terrible and rude. Not helpful. The car had stains all over it.

Don't let them know where you are going.
Cons: They would not rent me the vehicle because I had to travel more then one state over from the state I was renting the vehicle from. It was an emergency and was cheaper to rent then fly. Had to see my father-in-law one last time to say goodbye before he passes away.

Pros: Car was newer, clear and what I had signed up for when I made the reservation. Value was best of all the searches made for the area
Cons: counter personnel were not very personable, very little direction when dropping off as to where to park the car.

dirty and smoky
Pros: everyone is super friendly and there was nothing wrong with customer service.
Cons: The car was stained (all of the seats) and dirty inside and I am sensitive to smoke and could smell, at some point, someone smoked in it.

Don't waste my time
Cons: I didn't like that the desk clerk tried to upgrade me without telling me to almost double my charges. My grandfather was dying, I told the clerk this, and I still had to go through a whole upsale game. I plan to never use dollar again.

What a joke!
Pros: Absolutely nothing!
Cons: I arrived at St Louis on Oct, 10th @ 10:30 pm waiting for a dollar shuttle van to pick me up. No Dollar shuttle in site, went to the courtesy phone and called Dollar rent a car it rang and rang with no answer and then said thank you good buy and hung up on me. I tried this 5 times with the same results so I got on a Hertz shuttle van and had to get a car from them. Their Sevice was very good I am thankful they could help me out of a bad situation. I give Dollar rent a car a 0 or F for service and they have lost my business forever!
