Budget was great. I requested a vehicle to be picked up @ the airport. KAYAK reserved a vehicle @ a Budget location far away. The airport Budget Manager was able to change our reservation and rent us a van with the same discounts. Budget was great; Kayak sucks!!!

Pickup location was rundown and dirty. Received a car with less than a quarter tank of gas despite having been told the tank would be full. Options were to fill it ourselves and return at the same level (adding an unanticipated stop to our itinerary) or wait an unspecified amount of time to see if one with more fuel would be returned, as allegedly refueling vehicles between rentals is not a part of their process.

The car was fine. Budget was deceptive regarding the Toll Fees. I was asked if I wanted to pre-pay for Toll's and I declined as I was told I would receive something in the mail. They are now trying to charge me $17.00 for "Toll Convenience Fee" when the toll itself was only 3 dollars.

I like the fact that the agent was willing to stay late to make sure everything worked okay. I didn't get the car I originally booked but they gave me a nice upgrade with no extra charge

My experience was good only down side was that the car was not wash and had damaged by the other owner that used it like scratch on the paint on the driver side back and the front also. Did do a video in the budget parking lot before taking the car of the scratches

Courteous staff. Easy pickup and drop off.

Cons:

Don’t try to upgrade me when the vehicle I want is there. I reserved a convertible because that’s what I want to drive.

Cons:

Would have been better to get the car I reserved. Went from a Cadillac to a Toyota Corolla. Tiny, can’t get in or out easily. Setting will sits too low as does the seat. Joke of a car!!!

I was pulled over by a State Trooper, due to the vehicle having a “Tag Applied For” , instead of an actual license plate. He provided me with the license plate # that’s registered to the vehicle and said he pulled me over because the vehicle should have have a license tag.

I had a great experience with my rental, the only reason I give a good and not excellent on cleaning was because the car was washed before I got it, but was a quick wash, mirrors still had salt on them, was really hard to see merging on to the interstate from the airport at night and nowhere to pull off safely to clean them myself. But again, overall was a great experience

The car I picked up was completely on empty and smelled so badly of Marijuana that it made me sick by the time I returned the vehicle in Orlando. It was also very dirty.

We reserved a truck two weeks ahead of time to help my mother move. Hertz features trucks on its website, complete with pricing. We got a confirmation email with a confirmation number. A couple of days before the rental we got another email, confirming the reservation and reminding us to pick up the truck. We got to the rental office at the appointed time and was told "We have no trucks." I showed them the reservation confirmation and the associate and another she called over both insisted they had no trucks. The pad on the counter that showed various vehicles available even featured trucks. They shrugged and said there was nothing they could do. another associate, overhearing the conversation, came over and said "Let me see what I can do." He began calling other hertz locations in the area and finally found one 30 miles away that had just had a truck returned. He asked them to hold it for us and we drove the extra 30 miles to pick it up.

Made a reservation through kayak for a rental car, went to hertz to pick it up and staff was terribly rude and told me they have no cars and to call kayak to get a refund. Employee barely looked at me as he was too busy playing on his phone.

Staff at Fayetteville were terrible. Greensboro staff was knowledgeable, but first car was not cleaned and ended up with electrical issues and we had to return to Greensboro. Lost over 4 hours on road to backtrack. Next car was also not sealed after sanitizing and was 1,400 miles and 5 months overdue for oil change. THIRD car was fine. Terrible car rental experience.

For the first time in my life, I reserved a rental car, and when I arrived, they did not have one for me, and my business trip suffered greatly. They had no solution and did not even attempt to work with me in anyway.

Pickup and drop off was close to the terminal in both locations.

Cons:

Two things: 1- Picking up the rental took entirely too long (25 minutes) to bring the car to us. That left us waiting outside in a parking garage in the heat with a 14 month old. 2- Our rental was out of oil at the time of pickup. Avis’s solution was to tell us to go put oil in it ourselves.

Nice black Suburban in good condition

Cons:

Tried to give me a Tahoe first then when pressed that I rented a Suburban for its larger cargo they had me wait. Car was not ready at scheduled time and had to wait for an oil change for an hour and a half.

the Tahoe was beautiful and drove great. Burt checked us in and he was a real treat to work with. great sense of humor.

I was able to choose the exact car I wanted and was even able to reserve a cooler and boogie board to use for the week. The car was in like-new condition. The free shuttle was convenient, fast and the drivers were nice. The location was a little bit further from the airport, but it wasn't a problem.

It was the first time we rented via Turo, so I don't have a good base reference to compare in general, and can only compare to car rental experiences with commercial fleets (like Budget or Enterprise). In general it was okay -- we made it to where we were going and back, with no major issues. It's doable. However, there were some "surprises" where things didn't quite got as we expected: * We made rental reservation with expectation that we're picking up at the airport. When we got there, it turned out that the car is not at the airport, and the address given to us turned out to be what seemed to be Portland's airport Fire Rescue Tower (where, obviously, we can't even walk to or be at). We called the owner, and turned out that the car is at some house that's "not far" from the airport, and gave us new address. So additional expense of taking Uber/Lyft to get to the car (and apparently that address exists in two neighboring towns, and somehow Uber/Lyft took us first to the wrong one, so we had to take another ride, but that's not a Turo issue, just more expense as a consequence of car not being at the airport as promised). * When we got there, we called the owner to get the keys: "-- Keys are under front door's floormat. -- Nope, they're not there. -- Then try mailbox? -- Yes, they're there." The owner wasn't there, which is okay to do this all remote, but would be nicer if owner was in general "on top of things" such as where the car is and where it is expected to be picked up, where exactly are its keys, etc. * Then owner requested that prior to return we take the car to be washed and cleaned inside and out. We neither planned on looking for car detailing places in Portland, nor for time that it would take away from sightseeing, nor for extra substantial expense it would be. We pushed back and the owner backed off saying that he'll let it go due to confusion with pickup location (and apparently he didn't send some email that he was supposed to send, or something along those lines). * And while the car wasn't too dirty, it wasn't clean to begin with (which made detailing request that more amusingly odd). Crumbs on floor and seats and luggage compartment. Worst part was that windshield was dirty on the inside that was minor unpleasant at daytime, but as driving progressed into night time, it was quite significant as it was blurring lights and affected visibility substantially. * We also added additional driver thru Turo and let the owner know. The owner requested that we send him picture of drivers license directly to him. We refused (as it didn't seem right, given that Turo is the one that manages that aspect) and he backed off. * Of course, additional expense of Uber/Lyft after return drop-off as we weren't dropping it off at the airport as originally planned. So all in all we probably spent additional $50-60 in Uber/Lyft for getting to and from cars location instead of it being in the airport, and lost about 3+ hours for dealing with additional unplanned travel. The rest was okay. Car drove fine and didn't give any problems.
