Cons: Costs were way more than what was quoted through KAyak, will be discussing with Hertz. I won't rent with Hertz again.

hertz manager trainee bailed me out
Pros: I searched for a car at Albuquerque International Airport and did not notice that your best offer was at a site in town. When I showed up at the airport, the nice manager found me a car and allowed me to pick up and return at the airport with only a minimal extra charge
Cons: The fact that an off-airport site came up in my search of your offerings.

No attempt to find a solution
Cons: I could not pickup my rental because I listed my father as a driver. They would not speak to me even though I booked everything and paid for the rental myself. If your policy doesn't allow you to speak to me try to help me find a solution and not just say it's against your rules. Vehicle was dirty

Cons: The pickup point was it at the rental car place. It was a $40 cab ride to some obscure office with a 3/4 tank of gas and no windshield wiper fluid. I had to pay an additional $20 drop off fee to dropout off at the airport rental place. Shame on me for not reading the fine print. Never again.

Hertz may not be for me
Pros: When I got the car it wasn't full so the guy told me that I could bring the car back with half a tank.
Cons: This car should be taken out of commission. It was super dirty. There was damage all over the car. The windshield had multiple cracks/chips. The car needed new brakes and was embarrassingly squeaky. The inside looked like it had been cleaned so many times with harsh cleaners that the black plastic was turning white.

The rental location was closed when my plane arriv
Cons: I never rented from Hertz as planned, as my flight landed after the arranged rental location had closed. It was not made clear when I made the reservation that the location was not at the airport. The airport Hertz location would not honor the arrangement (and payment) made with the scheduled location, so I rented from another provider. I am in the process of waiting for a refund from Hertz. Please note that I never had the opportunity to judge "comfort" or "cleanliness", as I didn't drive one of their cars.

car had a filthy interior windshield which was dan
Pros: pick up was okay, drop off was terrible - the manager did not want to take care of my complaints
Cons: tank was not full at pick up, interior windshield was filthy - didn't notice until the sun came out later in the day and I almost got in an accident cause vision was not clear due to dirty windshield, car was dirty overall, and had lots of scratches and dings (not taken care of) - manager at drop off did not care about my concerns and did nothing to take of the problems.

You can't make this stuff up!
Pros: We encountered a very helpful employee in ABQ named Normagene, with whom we would not have even gotten a car if not for her!
Cons: So, we take an Uber to our rental car location only to realize that the location has been closed for months, we called the number listed on the reservation and it is a cell phone with a mailbox that is not set up. We went to a nearby hotel, who's staff was incredibly helpful and hooked us up with another branch of Hertz in the city. They paid for our Uber to get there but when we arrived, the JEEP we had reserved was not available, instead we get a much smaller, no all or 4-wheel drive Hyundai, and Oh they can't adjust the price, can only do that when we drop off the car. When we drop off the car, the young man in the lot is very helpful and directs us inside to speak with the Manager, Robert, when we get inside, the Manager sees us but can't speak to us until we get to the end of the rental line (6 people deep, only line in the whole rental car place). I explain I can't wait I am catching a plane, too bad, get in line. So thus far we have paid for a jeep, got a hyundai were sent to the wrong location..........a disaster.......

Why have reservations if you aren't going to reser
Cons: I walked in and was told my pre-paid reservation was unavailable as the office didn't have any cars. Waited over an hour to get one brought over from another office. Was told the gas tank was full, my mistake for not checking before driving off (it was only 3/4 full) The vehicle's check engine light was on and the car hadn't been vacuumed. On the second day of my two day rental, I get a call from Hertz asking if I still need a rental car. I advised that I had a rental car. She apologized for not being able to fulfill the rental from her office. They didn't know I had a rented from their office?!

Could have been better.
Pros: I liked that it was reasonably comfortable for my size, it held a lot of luggage and it was great on fuel economy.
Cons: The car had not been cleaned when I picked it up. A drink had been left in the car's cup holder and there was uneaten candy in the back seat. I asked for an ice scraper to clean the frosted windshield, also I was heading into the Colorado mountains and wanted to be safe. I was told there wasn't a scraper and to wait for the defroster to do its job. The left front tire had much more wear than the others and it pulled a little to the left.

Horrible Customer Service
Pros: Hertz has two chances to wow you this location some how failed three times. Pick up and Drop off was slow, disorganized and rude. Then they chose to call at 7:30 am to see how the service was waking the entire house in the process of calling twice.

Cons: Like many larger airports, drop off is a remote rental car center.

Unhappy!! Didn't get what I reserved.
Pros: Despite the fact that we reserved an SUV and there wasn't one available, the agent was very kind and helpful in putting us in a smaller vehicle and making adjustments. Very good lady!!!
Cons: I reserved an SUV. When I arrived at the Hertz facility, I was informed that there were no SUV!! How does this happen? I had a confirmation number. I was very unhappy that I would have a confirmation and your end could not keep your end of the bargain. So you sucked me in and switched.

Pickup location was closed on Sunday Oct. 30, the
Pros: Vehicle was nice and got good gas mileage.
Cons: Was charged a one way drop-off fee for returning vehicle to Airport Location. Wasn't advised that offsite location was closed on Sunday.

Cons: I had a reservation and they didn't have any cars available after I already had the reservation and was on my way for the car!!! Unexpectable they should of not made my reservation

Pros: The customer service was excellent. Martin was very personable.
Cons: The rental car had a long scratch on the driver door, but they were already aware of it so we didn't have any problems with that.

The best customer service!
Pros: The staff was helpful, friendly and went above and beyond to be helpful during the super busy time of Balloon Fiesta. We would definitely return to Hertz again.

Car was fine. But Off Airport Location was a drag
Cons: Car was not available at the airport. We had to take a $30 cab ride plus tip to get the prepaid car at a distant in-town Hertz location. We had to wait for a car to be prepped, when cars had been available at the airport.

Cons: There was no car available for pickup at 8 a.m. and no guarantee that there would be any car available that day, despite a confirmed reservation. Fortunately a car was returned about 10:40 a.m. and I happened to be there to pick it up, or it would have been given to the next customer, despite my telling the agent that I did want the car and would come in to pick it up when they called me. There was a couple that reserved for 1 p.m. that was there and would have been given the first returned car. So it was very disappointing and a little stressful to have to wait for 2 3/4 hours, have to contemplate and work on contingency plans, and learn that the agents would have given the car to another client, even though I said I would come in to pick it up when they called me that one had been returned.

Happy with car but not with Hertz
Pros: When car was picked up the young man that took care of my rental was new and he tried hard to do things as he was told by the woman training him.
Cons: Brought car back 1 day early and was told I wouldn't get a pro-rated refund due to it being a weekly rental. I didn't like the high pressure that was put on me to take their insurance after I had my insurance applied to the car while I was driving it, this was done by the woman.

Pros: I "signed up for" Albuquerque Airport, but the actual location was a $20 uber ride into the suburbs (both ways) - probably my fault for not reading the fine print on the pick-up location and checking googlemaps, but I had searched for "Airport." At the pick-up, I was informed there were two Hertz locations even closer to the airport than the one I got. the airport loc also said they were out of cars. it's as if the different locations are competing with each other. The price was OK even with the uber, but at the return, I got slapped with the taxes (another $30), In other words: $70 and two extra hours of travel not expected.

Cons: i showed up with my printed out confirmed , reserved reservation for a car for 8 day rental and got to office, no cars... after 2 hrs of calls and saying I'm not leaving without a car.. hertz send me to their repair center and they gave me one. ran fine, just had no shocks left so handled very poorly.. then, they tried to charge me more since they had no cars for me under my reserved contract... horrible customer service my local office manager also... she was sick from eating some food she liked by had allergic reactions to, but kept eating it????? i'll avoid hertz at all costs..!! joe austin tx.

Pros: Clean new car. Great cruise control for adjusting driving speeds. Good aircon. Quiet ride on the highway...smooth transmission with a compression setting appropriate for descending down the mountain without having to ride the brakes.
Cons: No briefing from rental agent regarding the remote, keyless starting feature of the Mazda 3. I had never seen one before. Had to ask because couldn't figure out how to start the car. The remote can be affected by near by radio tower radiations. I had to try a couple of dozen times from different positions around the car to lock the doors with the remote when parked at the top of Sandia mountain near Albuquerque. The radio towers at the top of the mountain can disrupt the signal from the remote. Finally got it locked, but discovered that there was a hidden key inside the remote. So was able unlock it at the one key hole (drivers side only). Fortunately the car started with no problem.

Pros: Easy drop off.
Cons: Pick up location was not where we had thought when making the reservation. As a result our reservation price was not honored and I had to start again. It ended up costing over 100% more. There was only one employee at the counter when we arrived, with 4 people in line. As a result the whole transaction took about an hour. I was given an "upgrade" to a Ford Fiesta. Wow! Insurance seemed a bit exorbitant.

Pros: The next day they did help, by picking us up at the hotel, getting us our car and on our way. Just wish they would have called when we weren't there exactly at 6 so we wouldn't have had to waste a night of our vacation. Lesson learned don't rely on just internet for booking. Always call and talk to real people!
Cons: I had put a pick up time of 6 PM but arrived at 6:12 having taken an airport shuttle to the wrong Hertz location first. Sadly they closed at 6, (not sure why they allowed a pick up time at the exact time they would be closing?) so we were not able to get our car. After trying to find some sort of solution ended up having to stay a night in a hotel in Albuquerque until the next morning.

Last car left at pickup lot, dirty and gas tank no
Pros: I really liked the customer service, I thought both of the ladies at pickup and drop off were excellent customer service reps but that was the only good part of the experience unfortunately.
Cons: I booked a Rav4 or similiar SUV on kayak.com and got a fair price for my trip I thought. However when I turned up to the Albuquerque city location I was told that they did not know how I made the booking... the only vehicle they had left was a toyota Yaris - and I needed the suv because I was transporting posessions in boxes and I had a few bags as well. I was on a deadline so I had to just jam them all in and hope for the best. In the vehicle, once everything was in, the only space left to sit was the drivers seat. Whats more is the car was filthy, inside and out. We did the usual walk around the vehicle and I signed off as being okay. Then I went inside to use the washroom and when I jumped back in the vehicle and started driving I reallised that the gas tank was not full. I drove 6 hours from Albuquerque to Denver being uncomfortable and all I was able to get was 14$ off the original price. All in all, not a very enjoyable experience.
