Car smelled like smoke and cleaner. Windshield wipers terrible. Car only had 6,000 miles. Waited over one hour for car. Budget did not recognize my FastBreak. Second time in 2 months that Budget was a nightmare.

It took over an hour for Budget to bring my car. Apparently they assign you a rental car that another customer just dropped off, and then you wait until the car is cleaned up and gasoline added to it, and then they bring to you. There were already 20 people waiting in the garage for their cars. Took me 1 hr and 10 minutes to get mine. HERTZ or SIXT doesn’t have this issue. AVIS & BUDGET are the worst at JAX. Avoid at all cost, unless you have time to wait in the garage.

We had to wait nearly 45 minutes for them to deliver our car. Then they delivered us a bill at drop off that was $214 vs your estimate of $167 Why? We rejected insurance because it is covered under our credit card but they charged us anyway for $35. Brian Huber and Tania at drop off we’re like -hey too bad, we can’t do anything about it They charged us $8 for gas to allegedly fill the tank which we had done about 10 miles outside the airport. So they claim we got 12 miles a gallon after a trip where we averaged over 25mpg-yes I have the receipts to prove this all When we tried to resolve this with the ineptly named customer service it took 4 calls and lots of HOLD to get anywhere. And now resolution is under appeal One employee couldn’t even locate our rental after we gave her the name date and location, because we hadn’t memorized the 11 character reservation number which was packed away It was a good vehicle delivered late by an organization which so far has left us VERY angry And we are unlikely to ever rent from them again if this is how they treat their customers

It was impossible to change or modify the reservation. Trying to get someone on the phone was impossible at the local level and at the national level. It was an outrageous sum of money to add a day to the original reservation. It took at least 2 days to speak with someone. The website was horrible. You were in a loop and couldn't move forward or back. I think at this point all rental car companies are owned and operated in the same manner. Be prepared for a difficult time if you need to change anything for any reason.

We paid for an economy car because that’s all we needed. When my husband got to the car, there was a wrench light on on the dash board. He asked to swap the car for one that did not have an engine problem. The agent told my husband that the light meant nothing. My husband needed a reliable car and continued to insist on a car that was not at risk of failing to get him to his destination. The agent then accused him of just not “liking” the car. He gave him an “upgraded” car and told him the “lady” who lets you out will charge you extra for this car in a threatening way.

I was denied the prepaid car due to not having my physical drivers license available. Dollar refused to transfer the prepaid reservation to my travel Companion. They would rent a car to my companion for three times the price I paid in advance. They refused to refund my prepaid reservation as well. Following up with customer service three separate times with no return communication. Absolutely scammed me

The advertised price had hidden fees. I paid 285 for the car for one week. When I dropped it off, I was hit with 86 dollars of all sorts of random taxes. The car was dropped with full tank of gas. They should advertise the price to including this and why only charge it at dropoff?

Drop off was great but pick up awful and we ended up with electric vehicle which I didn't mind but no instructions on charging and didn't have adapter for tesla charger. Also the center console was locked with pin # we weren't given and couldn't get a hold of anyone who could help us.

Pros:

We ended up having a screw in our tire. The lady on the phone was wonderful. She advised us to go to the enterprise car rental in Brunswick Georgia. The workers there were amazing. They had us to the tire place in minutes. The tire place changed the tire for us after enterprise guy talked to him. All took under an hour. Very impressive!😊

Called Thrifty a week before our trip and asked there’ll be a charge for my wife to drive. Said no if she was avAAA member. Looked on Google with the same question and got the same answer. Picked up car and got charged $180 extra. Said we would have had to rent the car through AAA for my wife to drive for free. Was not told this when talked with Thrifty customer service. Am not happy.

I tried to change the reservation to add a day- nope, you cannot do that- Thrify/ Kayak?Expedia-all about collecting fees and making my life miserable- you really need to change the process.

Thay accepted my bucking fee on line on my chime cridit card. But then we get to the air port and they wouldn't expect my chime cridit card it wasn't a narmal chim card. It was a cridit card.i will never again worse service ever .I felt discrematate

Got a car after waiting longer than an hour for it as the process is totally manual - calling the dispatcher to locate a car I ordered days before (who really saved the day and did a fantastic job in balancing out the incompetence of process and the don’t care attitude of the front desk person). When I got the car it was on empty - what the heck? I then ended up paying 340$ on top of the 170$ I had signed up for - never again!

When I was at the counter picking up my rental the kid giving me my keys said he just washed the inside and the outside of the vehicle at it was ready to go The jeep was filthy and smelled inside I will never use Advantage Rental again and I will make sure to tell everyone I know not to use them as well

I don't recommend. What is advertised online is not what you will pay. They force you to take their insurance even if you have full coverage with your credit card and with your personal car insurance. If you don't take their insurance they will just tell you that you can't rent and free to leave when you are already way out of the airport and have all your luggages around. The car is dirty and full of stains. They also say they will put a 300$ hold but in reality they will charge you 300$ on your credit card which they say will refund after 7 days! So that's already a lie to begin with. There is no hold and you end up dishing out and extra 300$ out of nowhere that you won't get right away once you return the car. Hotels put hold and release the hold after. Advantage charged us an extra 300$ The workers there don't really care. They also tell you to get the toll pass which is around 20$ USD every day because you will need it. They said going to FLL to Miami, you have no choice but to pass to a toll way. Good thing we didn't take it because it's a complete lie. I will avoid and reason learned!!

We did not ended renting the car from advantage because the tacked on so many fees, said we had to purchase their insurance- so we from $30 for 2 days to $130 for 2 days. Companies should be upfront of the total.
