Pros:

Nothing Car was dirty took me 45 min to clean it during COVID esp unacceptable previous contract was in glove compartment that says alot drop off was closed for 3 mos had to go to airport as a last resort

Cons:

Everything car should be clean. We are in the middle of a pandemic. they gave us a drop off that has been closed fo 3 mos again unacceptable. nobody answers your phones this was a horrible experience

Pros:

The staff was very helpful. Car was clean and ready.

Cons:

The location is a little small so it's tough to pull in and out of the location but that's just nit picking because I have nothing else bad to say lol

The car I reserved wasn’t available (small car) was given a massive SUV instead. Car was dirty on the outside and had a large scratch on the outside. My pickup time was for 12 pm and I arrived at 4 pm, and was told that they do not hold cars or guarantee the car reserved if you come after your pickup time (I could only select 12 pm on the site when booking).

Car tires needed air. I had to pump them up. Avoidance warning lights were always on in outside mirrors.

I reserved a rental last week appear to pick it up and it isn't present and avis had "no" cars I was able to rent

Customer service was lacking. Not friendly or helpful. Car itself was perfectly fine. Clean, economical to use.

Avis tried to rip me off twice. They said the gas tank was full and I had to return it that way when I picked it up at 11:00 am Monday—there was less than 1/8 tank and according to the car, I could drive 27 miles before getting gas. When I returned the car, dropping the keys in the box at 6:30 in the morning Tuesday, before the desk opened and less than 24 hours from picking up, they charged me a late return fee and for an additional day—because they didn’t check the car in until Wednesday. Crappy, unprofessional, dishonest, disgusting.

Pick up took to long. Didn't have my car. Car they gave me was filthy.

Cons:

Have the car i reserved. Have more locations for one way travel. Don't rent filthy old cars.

I was able to choose the exact car I wanted and was even able to reserve a cooler and boogie board to use for the week. The car was in like-new condition. The free shuttle was convenient, fast and the drivers were nice. The location was a little bit further from the airport, but it wasn't a problem.

It was the first time we rented via Turo, so I don't have a good base reference to compare in general, and can only compare to car rental experiences with commercial fleets (like Budget or Enterprise). In general it was okay -- we made it to where we were going and back, with no major issues. It's doable. However, there were some "surprises" where things didn't quite got as we expected: * We made rental reservation with expectation that we're picking up at the airport. When we got there, it turned out that the car is not at the airport, and the address given to us turned out to be what seemed to be Portland's airport Fire Rescue Tower (where, obviously, we can't even walk to or be at). We called the owner, and turned out that the car is at some house that's "not far" from the airport, and gave us new address. So additional expense of taking Uber/Lyft to get to the car (and apparently that address exists in two neighboring towns, and somehow Uber/Lyft took us first to the wrong one, so we had to take another ride, but that's not a Turo issue, just more expense as a consequence of car not being at the airport as promised). * When we got there, we called the owner to get the keys: "-- Keys are under front door's floormat. -- Nope, they're not there. -- Then try mailbox? -- Yes, they're there." The owner wasn't there, which is okay to do this all remote, but would be nicer if owner was in general "on top of things" such as where the car is and where it is expected to be picked up, where exactly are its keys, etc. * Then owner requested that prior to return we take the car to be washed and cleaned inside and out. We neither planned on looking for car detailing places in Portland, nor for time that it would take away from sightseeing, nor for extra substantial expense it would be. We pushed back and the owner backed off saying that he'll let it go due to confusion with pickup location (and apparently he didn't send some email that he was supposed to send, or something along those lines). * And while the car wasn't too dirty, it wasn't clean to begin with (which made detailing request that more amusingly odd). Crumbs on floor and seats and luggage compartment. Worst part was that windshield was dirty on the inside that was minor unpleasant at daytime, but as driving progressed into night time, it was quite significant as it was blurring lights and affected visibility substantially. * We also added additional driver thru Turo and let the owner know. The owner requested that we send him picture of drivers license directly to him. We refused (as it didn't seem right, given that Turo is the one that manages that aspect) and he backed off. * Of course, additional expense of Uber/Lyft after return drop-off as we weren't dropping it off at the airport as originally planned. So all in all we probably spent additional $50-60 in Uber/Lyft for getting to and from cars location instead of it being in the airport, and lost about 3+ hours for dealing with additional unplanned travel. The rest was okay. Car drove fine and didn't give any problems.
