Excellent environment feeling like home with very personal service Not enough room provisions like bottled water etc.
This is a luxury hotel and priced accordingly. Everything about the place is first class. The decor is beautiful from the rooms to the reception to the lounges, breakfast room and exterior. The staff is efficient and very helpful. The whole place is comfortable. Nothing to dislike.
I like the location of this hotel - in Mala strana. Also the SPA-center in this hotel is very nice. It's real pleasure to visit it.
Helpful staff, great breakfast Very small room for the price
The Alchymist is a beautiful boutique hotel, perfectly positioned for all of Prague's attractions. The staff were the best we have experienced, polite, extremely helpful & informative. The Alchymist made our holiday a most memorable one. Thanks
ambiance and staff
The Alchymist is a lovely luxury hotel with very attentive staff and beautiful decor that really suits the prague experience. I chose not to use the spa as the services are really quite expensive.
From the welcoming smile to the opulance of the, to the location every thing was perfect. If you want to spoil your wife/partner this is the place.
Although the hotel looks great in its website - the pictures actually don't do it justice. It is a fabulous little jewel of a hotel tucked away in the best part of fantastic Prague. Senior staff are very good. The pool is tiny and cold; and the service, especially in the spa, is a bit hit and miss - my wife made a manicure appointment which was not fulfilled and poorly handled.
excelent location, beautifully decorated hotel, spacious room, excellent service, good selection of food for breakfast
Location was excellent The fact that we could not book the taxi of our choice and had to use the one recommended by hotel which we found to be very expensive and driver non communactive and very aggressive driver.
The position was absolutely perfect for siteseeing in Prague, the reception desk staff were very friendly, we had an excelent breakfast each day. Its in walking distance to the whole of central Prague. We decided to have a drink and eat in the hotel on our final evening as the restauarant was very appelaing. However, when we went to get a drinlk and go to the restaurant we were informed they both were closed for a private function - not very good for paying hotel guests
Location was very good The restaurant and bar were booked for private functions both nights we were there.
excellent hotel for combination - business+tourism
The central location, proximity to public transport, cleanliness of the rooms and the castle theme of the hotel. I would have liked a busier bar and lower prices in the hotel restaurant,it would have encouraged me to spend an evening or two there.
The hotel is located at the edge of the Kampa area which seems like a shared large backyard / park type of place. We parked in this area behind the hotel (charged) and it seemed like a safe area. Every day and night we would walk through the park as a short cut to the rest of the city. It never seemed like a dangerous place. The breakfast area is quite cheesy with all the (fake?) armors and medieval weapons. I love music but the live piano or harpsichord just made the place more noisy. The buffet is plentiful but the quality of item was quite ordinary. The room was large and had no air conditioning which wasn't much of a problem but then we had to sleep with the window open and hear all the noise early morning. Nothing too serious, only the small annoyances that seem to be present everywhere in Prague.
great location (5 min walking distance from Charles Bridge), awesome bed, awesome restaurant decoration (medieval style) Although we paid cash for all the 3 rooms reserved at the hotel, they also charged the card for which I gave information on booking.com!!!!!!!!
Based in quiet area with easy walking to all central locations Staff - Not sure if its a language barrier!! They should learn to smile and say hello!!!!
Friendly staff, good breakfast the beds at the hotel and teh pillows
Thank you for a great service.
They left a chocolate in my pillow everyday The staff were very friendly and tried to help me in everything I asked Some things in the breakfast, but I don't think it's the hotel's fault but Prague's food
Perfect location with excellent customer care. I love surprises and your hotel fulfilled mind and soul. Front desk Tasha was especially warm and helpful. Thank you so much. Perhaps you can offer coffee or tea packets in the room to enhance visitor's stay?
Location was great-close to all sights. Rooms were spacious.
It was a traditional hotel with good dining and wine options and well positioned for visiting the tourist sites in Prague no
Warm, welcoming, helpful staff; fascinating, sumptuous, luxurious and comfortable decor; quiet, safe location, convenient to the main bridge and city centre, but not on top of it.
The staff was very friendly, room was amazing - very clean and comfortable, great location.
A beautiful hotel with great staff. Although it does not have all the amenities of a larger hotel, it is in a great location. It is close enough to everything but is still on a quiet street. It has a romantic feel to it. We were upgraded to a better room on arrival. We were enticed by the gothic room on the websites but the room they gave us was much larger and in a better location within the hotel. A great stay!
the room was beutiful
the decor was good, it was gold and the dining room was very comfortable. I think the term suite was an exageration, It was a normal room with a kitchenette which had no cups or mugs in !
Personal is very friendly, design is awesome, very nice Gothic suite No, everything is great
location - quiet - elegance - privacy - space. the entire experience was excellent and made all the difference in our stay in Prague.
The service was absolutely fantastic. Well run hotel I would also like to say that I have stayed all over the world in many hotels, and this is definitely one of the best! Nothing!!!
The design of the hotel and also the relax atmosphere made our stay very enjoyable. The staff was really friendly, helpful and welcoming. The SPA is really really nice. And the food for room service or the restaurant was delicious.
It was great. The staff was very nice and gave a feeling to be very welcome. There was nothing I did not like. I am very often in good hotels but mostly the difference is the friendlyness of the staff. Friendly staff is the result of very good management.
The staff were incredibly hospitable and accommodating. We had a small problem with the room which was allocated to us and they immediately sorted the problem out for us, in a friendly and polite fashion. No, but as all the rooms don't have a bath, make sure you request a room with one, if that is what you want.
The location is perfect for walking to the centre and hystorical sites and shopping locations. The comfort of the room, sitting area and bathroom not up to par.
The service from all staff was above anything I have encountered. It was too close to the US embassy, its less than 150 meters from the embassy.
Very good hotel.
Good location, nice roof terrace The double beds have only one comforter. Two have two (smaller ones)would make a big difference. The suite was spacious, but had no view at all.
Location was great. In general service was good. The idea of the music theme is unique. The gardens at the back of the hotel are beautiful. The view at the rooftop garden restaurant is excellent. The gym is sufficient Stereo and DVD system could be improved in the room as it wasn't fully functional on arrival.. Poor wireless reception and only in the lobby. Euo wasps frequent the rooftop garden restaurant. Were going to eat at the rooftop garden restaurant but cancelled as we had a drink there in the afternoon and was served a curdled ice coffee by a female who made excuses but no apologies.
The staff were very welcoming, and extremely professional. An unusual feature of this hotel is the supply of an ipod for use in your room, and a large cd library with a huge range - I only looked at the classical cds as that's my interest and the selection is impressive. The hotel guests also have access to a beautiful baroque-era garden at the rear of the hotel, it's the oldest of its kind in Prague. The hotel's roof terrace provides amazing rooftop views of Prague while enjoying excellent cuisine and a well-chosen wine list.
The location was excellent and dinner on the roof terrace is worth doing. The gym has good equipment and has nice views of the garden.
The concierge was very friendly and helpful. She made excellent recommendations. The breakfast is really wonderful and was included with our room rate. Also, the attached gardens are beautiful and provide a great view of the city. Great location. The hotel car is probably not a good value; although, the city taxis should be avoided.
personal does everything to make you feel comfertable -
Impeccable service, outstanding staff, great music/movie selection for free
The efforts of the staff to create a pleasant atmosphere. The amenities that the hotel provides: an excellent breakfast in an attractive dining room; comfortable rooms; and a good location for access to the city's sights.
Hotel seems like old, but not cheap. Water pressure was very low compare to other hotel.
The room was very nice. We did request a special room but I think they were all the same unless you paid for an upgrade. Free mini-bar but no spirits. The hotel was used for external meetings twice whilst we were there on a three day stay. The entrance was therefore very congested and facilities were limited, ie. lunch offered to be served to your room instead of in the dining room, breakfast was served in the library one day due to another external convention, this was not mentioned when we arrived, but we were told by letter in our room on the day of meetings. Breakfast could have been better, soft boiled eggs were still undercooked, bacon looked raw, coffee not at the hotest. At the outer edge of Prague 1, very steep hills to climb therefore not really recommended for those with difficulty walking. Lots of steps to get to hotel.
Nearby city center in quiet area
Great location in a quiet part of the city away from the mass of tourists but yet still close to the main sights of the cathedral and castle.
Excellent, homely, friendly, great value for money. Internet connection somewhat expensive at EUR 20 per day.
Nice bathroom. This is not a five star hotel (maybe 25 years ago it was, but not today). Furniture and carpet need update!
Helpfull and friendly staff, tasty breakfasts, good location
location, great staff
The general atmosphere of the Hotel was really very nice. From walking in and seeing very smart and courteous staff to eating in the restaurant area, as well as the general location of the Hotel itself, everything made for a very pleasant and hassle-free stay. I can think of no points that were to my dislike during my stay at the Hotel Savoy.
nice comfortable room, with easy walking access to the centre of Praque encompassing al the old town and charles bridge. the promised shuttle bus was not at the airport, and it only picks you up from the airport, and will not take you back. this was not made clear when we made the booking.
Location and a good indoor garage.Staff extremly helpful Smoking permitted in the lobby area, which is adyasemt to the lobby bar. No good internet Wi-Fi facilities
Very friendly staff , great situation. Rooms a bit noisy
The staff were friendly and efficient. I would particularly like to mention the reception manager, who made us feel very welcome. The room lacked tea and coffee making facilites, something I would assume would come as standard as in other hotels I have stayed at around Europe. I would also reiterate my comments re the bedding arrangements, which is my reason for assesing comfort as 'poor' in the previous section. In all other respects the hotel was very comfortable.
I felt very safe there, and we were able to walk every where we went. The staff was friendly and helpful. They cut corners on the breakfast. The "juice" was colored, flavored sugar water, the coffee came from a machine and was not freshly brewed. All of the cereals were sugared.
My double room was replaced at no additional charge with the two-room apartment. Everything was just fine They could have more muesli add-ons ) And If you ask for a taxi (and I did three times) they always come with a minibus. Even if you're alone.
Good location. Honza is the greatest receptionist in the world. Ask him and he will help.
great location walked everywhere,(tram outside if needed)value for money, very clean and comfortable, helpful staff.second visit
It is a lovely hotel, the people at the reception were very friendly (specially the girl that welcomed us on Saturday 14. of August at 14 h. It is really worth it staying at the Kleinseite because it is much less vulgar (not so many tourist traps, souvenir-shopping mania, loud music -unbelievable, that stores are allowed to set speakers outside to torment sensitive people that want to enjoy a "magical" city-). The tram is very close by and there is a great park in front of the hotel. There was no shampoo in the room...
The Hotel is conveniently located in the Mala Strana area of Prague, easy access from the tram stop. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Great service and the breakfast spread is excellent. The bathrooms, whilst clean and adequate, could do with a facelift.
The location Nothing..
The woman, who is in the reception during daytime, is really kind and the cleanless of room is also good for me.
The hotel has easy access with all public transportation and there was a free parking opposite.Room was very clean. We had a room on the side of the road, which was quite noisy, breakfast was poor.
Friendly staff, location and variety at breakfast Smoking in the hotel
Reception staff speak excellent English and were very helpfull with tours. Everything in Prague is quite expensive, but we already knew that. Exchanging Euro for Kronin at the front desk was convenient but costly.
the cleaniness of the room the staff and the breakfast was amazing!! no tea making facilities within the room, however, you could ask for the tea facilities but why not put them in there for the convenience of the guests
A few of the staff were very helpful. You must carry your bags up two sets of stairs to the lift with no help from staff. The location is not great...it is a good walk to the city center. The hotel does not overlook the park...a few rooms look at a hill.
Particularly, the position of the room with a terrace and how quiet it was. The room was also nice and large. We would suggest that you put in a shower screen so that people are able to use the shower facilities without making the floor wet!
Excellent location, friendly atmosphere
The hotel is extremely well located, at a 7min walk fron Prague's Castle. in a very quiet and beatiful area. The building is very elegant and the decor as well. Our room was hugue! And the breakfast was delicious and served in a incredible attic!!! Front desk service always attentive and nice, Daniel helped us a lot. Definitely a must hotel in Prague!!!
style, comfort and surroundings a bit dull breakfast
good price,Quiet location and clean and spacious room.
I travel extensively and the Appia is one of my favorite hotels. I felt so comfortable, safe and well cared for by your friendly staff. In particular the large size of my room, the terrace and windows and doors with fresh air, the cleanliness, and the wonderful breakfast. Your staff is knowledgeable and genuinely friendly and well trained. I also love the quiet location. We traveled in Europe for a month and the Appia was our favorite hotel.
The staff are friendly The pictures of the room were taken like 20 years ago and that's probably when it looked like this. It's old, falling apart and not comfortable. On more specific points: could hardly make the shower work, it also had no curtain; the floor is dirty to the point where it makes no use to clean it, needs replacing; TV - smallest screen possible so you can't really watch it except standing close; 10 euros for 24h internet, I've seen far cheaper hotels who did not try to make money on this; bed sheets are clean but also had to be replaced at least an year ago, the breakfast was quite poor as well.
The ultra-quiet location in a lovely neighborhood. Near enough to the attractions to be able to go on foot but far enough so that we didn't feel we were in touristville. Our double room turned out to be two rooms, which made it very comfortable. The fact that the feel of Appia Residences is "homey" rather than "hotelly", which might not be appreciated by travellers who want a hotel with a lobby and bar and room service, but was perfect for our tastes. In general, we were perfectly satisfied. The only minor problem we had was the difficultly in the bathtub of changing the flow of water from tap to shower head. Also the rooms, while pleasant and comfortable, could use a touch of decoration on the walls.
The tranquility of the hotel and helpful and friendly staff
A quiet side street within 2 minutes of the main walk up to the Castle. felt almost Tuscan in feel. Breakfast room very atmospheric. Bedroom (Double) excellent; large, v-comfortable. None of the 6 hotels I have stayed in in Prague have had great pillows so the Apia beat them all. Czech breakfast buffets are not that exciting in terms of fresh fruit. Apia's was average.
The location seemed safe. The room was small and did not look like the picture. There was a blood stain and a tear in the sheet on the bed. Front desk would not answer the phone when we would call so we had to go to them about issues we had. Adult channel did not work but we had to pay for it anyway. Over rated/overpriced!! Waste of money! We also had to pay 590KC from the metro to the hotel. That is about $35 and a rip off. There is nothing nearby to visit except the monastery, where all of the elderly people were.....if you want to party, this is not the best place to stay!
everything is the best. Especially - breakfast
This is a formal building of Strahov Monastery, beautifully remodeled in luxurious yet old monastery atmosphere keeping style. It is located in the hard of Prague – literally just few steps from some of the most amazing views for old Prague and Prague Castle - but amazingly quiet and peaceful. Simply one of the most precious place in Prague where you will be immediately taken by the spirit of its medieval monastery atmosphere. Hotel service, equipment and food was also absolutely perfect. I’ve stayed in couple of other places in Prague, but there is nothing even remotely close to the experience of this hotel. If you read this and there is free room for you, don’t look any further!
Clean and comfortable room. Great location close to some of the best attractions, yet quiet and charming area. Helpful staff. Rooms have little or no view as the hotel is on a historical property surrounded with fortress style walls.
Clean and luxurious hotel, very professional staff.
High standard of service, comfort and helpful staff. Just a little bit too far from the centre, but public transport system was good.
The staff were incredibly helpful and nice. The amenities in the room were terrific--water, tea, coffee and free internet!
Good location for vacation, it is quite place and special.
hotel staff was very friendly/ good breakfast/ good location housekeeping and daily cleaning of the room was poor - I mentioned it to the reception manager who seemed genuinely concerned and I am convinced it will be improved
stuff No swimming pool.
Just complete aspects of the Hotle from Reception Desk to Room maintainence Only it was rather too quiet !
design, afternoon tea, laptop in the room bed is not so comfortable as it looks like
Location was very good - close to centre but fairly quiet Headroom over bed in our loft room caused an accident.
The hotel was in a perfect, safe location. The hotel itself was very retro and very trendy. The staff were very polite and attentive. There was nothing to dislike.
Breakfast and afternoon tea were great, atmosphere in hotel was very welcoming and relaxed, beds very comfy Room wasnt perfectly clean when we arrived but it was fine
Great location - close to sites but far enough away to be quiet. 5 Minutes from major bus stop. Great free breakfast includes made to order hot items. Free 5 pm tea time an extra bonus. We had interior room with no widown and the room was too hot - pay the extra bit to get a window!
Great location in quiet area just a few steps from Hrad and Karl's Bridge. Fantastic design, friendly atmosphere, 5 o'clock tea, first class breakfast. This will be our hotel for the next visits to Prague.
Fabulous hotel in a great location with friendly staff. It was my husband's birthday and they gave us a bottle of wine as a gift on the day which was a really nice touch. It was a 10 minute walk to St Charles Bridge and also located close to the castle. There were air fresheners in all the communal areas - smelled nice but very strong and if you have asthma or allergies then this won't be comfortable.
easy to get to with GPS,attentive staff, great breakfast omelet, great for viewig castle and monastery,(best view in Prague from monastery garden) free laptop in room liked it!
Breakfast was absolutely delicious. Our time in the spa was definitely worth it--only two at a time, felt so luxurious. The rooms were very comfortable. A lovely restaurant (inexpensive!) is just up the road. Wonderful service and staff. No hair conditioner was provided. Couldn't figure out the laptop, but we also didn't ask for help with it so it's our own fault really...
The Design Hotel Sax has an eclectic feel to it. I enjoyed all of the little idiosyncrasies incorporated in it design. The staff was extremely helpful and courteous. I would definitley recommend the hotel to anyone.
stylish and exceptional place to stay that really enhanced our stay in Prague. The Hotel is a real asset to the city ! I know that should I return to Prague- I will always stay there from now on ...... I appreciate that the Spa part of the hotel has only just started up but more info on the services offered would of been helpful.
very big rooms, perfect bathroom, clean, perfect location in a quiet neighborhood close to the old town.
Privacy, easy access, quality of staff no
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was excellent, very large, clean and warm. Breakfast was good with a nice selection of cold dishes and some hot food.
Fantastic Room. Great Location -both for being able to walk to all main sights and for evening bars and restaurants (although people under 30years old may find too quiet) No (if knit picking, then choice of hot breakfast options could have been better - although cold choice was extensive and of good quality)
The hotels close proximity to the us Embassy meant we all felt really safe as a large police presence was obvious. Great location in a quiet part of the city. a few really nice restaurants really close by. loved it!!! Nothing
the room is very nice.the location is so good.valued for money.. they did not turn on the heater in the morning,so it is really cold and even the water in the bathroom is so cold
Quiet and smart.
This place was immaculate. Great location.
Second time we stayed there. Excellent service and room this time too. Very good location. We will gladly come back some other time.
Rooms extremly large (almost like an apartment), very close to the Hradschin and Charles' Bridge, no noises from the streets, kind service, wireless internett in the rooms, two tvs (German channels), good & fairly cheap shuttle service to the train stations Rooms a bit noisy (we could hear noises from the other rooms), breakfast plain, but nothing special, we didn't get a double bed although we requested it.
the hotel was very convenient and very comfortable. the shower was good too. The bar closed early at 10
We were on the top floor. Nice and quiet. Standards very high. Staff great. Location excellent for a tourist (near castle). Young party-goers might want to be in the Old Town or New Town instead.
The style and design, location, quaint old world yet nice amentities, being in the heart of that part of Prague. Rooms were so sweet, the open style of the windows, the view of the amazing street. Comfortable and accommodating No
The hotel is beautiful and very close to the castle. Staff was helpful and polite. It was difficult to reach by car. The parking lot is not on-site but there's a valet service.
The hotel in general was but excellent, bearing in mind that we shared the famous room 33. However, the final bill was not structured well enough and only after reviewing it I found out to my upleasant surprise that they had charged an extra day of parking. Nevertheless, this stain is nothing to overall splendour the hotel and above all the city of Prague can offer to a visitor. See the issue of the bill as written above.
Work at Lobkowicz Palace at Prague Castle, so convenient and wonderful views from my room over Prague. Service efficient and staff friendly.
The location was perfect. Beautiful view of the city. Very close to Prague Castle. Breakfast included was excellent!
Fabulous vista over all of Prague, location on street right beneath Castle. Lovely old hotel with central skylight, spacious room. Bath tub was pretty but hard to use vs shower. Breakfast was just ok. Wi-fi in room did not work.
Room was bigger than expected and desk staff were very helpful. Hotel was quiet despite busy area. Had some difficulty getting a receipt and when I did it was rounded off and in Czech currency.
Great location next to Prague castle. Good views down towards Charles bridge
Beautuful building, beautiful and big room, friendly receptionist staff, ("Superior Doppelzimmer mit Blick auf die Prager Burg") 1st floor 59EUR/night. Room has beautiful view down the Nerudova str. but also gets a lot of sun in the morning and heats up quickly. I left the curtains closed during the day (when we left) to at least try to prevent this, but they were closed after the room was cleaned, even after I asked at the reception the second day that they be left as they are. (but it was only two days, so story ends here). I would not take this room in the summer again, since I like to get up late and cant sleep if its too warm. There is a ventilator though. Also curtains could be thicker (for my taste, too much light gets through in the early morning).
The location of the hotel was perfect for us. I have to say that the hotel is on the top of a hill so it's quit a hike after being a whole day on your feet. Our room had a nice view. The rooms are good, a bit warm but you can turn the heater down. Excellent taxi service from and to the airport. The only think I can come up with is that the towels were not changed for 6 days. But then again, I didn't really asked for new ones either.
Hotel made a taxi reservation on my behalf to pick us up at the airport, the meet and greet was not at the airport, after waiting 25 minutes I made alternative arrangement to get to the hotel. There was no offer to carry our bags up to the room, we were put in the top floor room and I have a bad back. The room safe was not functioning. This was reported but not rectified during our stay.
the location was close to the Castle and only a 20 min walk to the city centre As with alot of the hotels in prague - no tea/coffee making facility
Unfortunately they didn't have our reservation down for 3 nights but were able to accomodate us nonetheless.
the bedroom was devine four poster bed very romantic for what we wanted location was fine because we didnt mind walking nobody disturbed us or interfered with our privacy i liked the quietness of this hotel our room was accross the street breakfast lovely i think a bath would be an improvement i would have loved a bath in the bathroom this would enhance the room and the whole experience we had booked a deluxe room and bathrobes were in the list of facilities but none were provided for us at all during our stay
Te rooms was very beautiful and bed was very comfortable.
Nice room, good location. Booking.com advertised the room with a-c and internet, and it did not have it. It was 39degrees in Prague without even a fan in the room. I specified that I needed a room with working A-C too.
Good location. Nice friendly staff. Clean large rooms.Good value for money. It would of been nice to have tea/coffee making facilities in the hotel rooms.
Room was warm and clean. Quite spacious for the money Pity the Bistro did not stay open early evening
Good location, helpful staff. Weather forecasts and free English-language newspapers at breakfast were nice touches.
This hotel was located in the older part of Prague right under the castle, with convenient access to the castle and gardens. This hotel is comprised of several different adjacent connecting buildings, which meant we needed to take an elevator up one floor, then go up and down several stair cases to get to our room. With luggage this was not convenient, but thankfully we are still young and this wasn't a major problem. Also, our room was right at street level, so we couldn't open the windows for ventilation as people could see right in, and it was a little noisy for sleeping. (I imagine this wouldn't be a problem for the majority of rooms at this hotel)
It was quiet due to the zone where it is located. Breakfast was a bit poor
Location was great, good value, and good breakfast. No air conditioning, so it could be uncomfortable in hot weather. The hotel was designed so it looked beautiful, but in practical terms, it was a little uncomfortable - the rooms were small and the shower (while beautifully designed) flooded the vanity and toilet with water.
The reception staff was very friendly and helpful and the hotel's airport shuttle functioned perfect. The room (superior) was both clean and nice decorated, and the breakfast was tasteful. The location in Nerudova was great, and the street itself a beautiful adventure
The design of the rooms were really really interesting. I loved how the building itself was like a little town in itself with little narrow walkways and cobbled areas. We had the best service by reception - I think her name was Mariona... she was from Tunisia and was lovely, fast, efficient and super-friendly. She made us love the hotel more. The bath is exposed, so it's impossible to have a shower while your partner is trying to sleep. We found the rooms a little dim too.
location ; comfort ; design ; staff hospitality and efficiency Noise in the corridors during the night ; no spa neither swimming pool
Great value for the money, excellent location, friendly staff, beautiful breakfast, really private rooms. If it comes to Prague we wouldnt stay anywhere else.
Monika was awesome at the reception desk. She was incredibly helpful, as was John. Didn't like the narrow stairs up to my room...
Great breakfast Noisy room
new part of this hotel has very nice style and design some of the staff wasnt very friendly and helpfull, but generally they were OK
