Good Size Rooms, Friendly Front Desk Staff, Clean Linens
The hotel is ideally situated near the main station.
Good location in a quite street yet close to the railway station. Modern and clean. Friendly staff especially the cleaning lady. The big negative aspect is the breakfast room, far too small and without good choice of food, old bread, no rolls, no free tables. The glass bathroom door that doesn't allow to "go" without being seen. Also the shower being a bit mouldy
smart, modern rooms and a good breakfast in a hotel which is very conveniently close to Rome's main station. Such a change from many run down establishments which over charge!
Internal design in rooms was quite modern, very good breakfast (quality/options), very professional personel
Location and fitness
Location close to rail transportation. Reception staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast selection was very good and of good quality. Room was sparce but very clean. Noise insulation between rooms was poor.
very clean, staff is personable, It was just for sleep before train If I have to point out something, it is just that it might look like a hospital room...some more color in the room would not hurt...pain one wall a differnt color..different from the carpet..
The cement finish of the vanity and shower floor
They where very accommodating with the request for a gluten free breakfast and they have free wifi which was unexpected and very useful for planning the days ahead exploring in Rome.
Desk staff were all notably helpful. They were quick to grasp what had been a rather curious sequence of reservations. In addition, one evening when my wife in USA had been trying to call my room, the staff member on the desk realized that I was among a group talking in the lobby, and took the initiative of alerting me so that I could take the call there.
Our room was plush and luxurious. The tall doors and window that opened to the large balcony was the frosting on the cake. The young woman who checked us in spoke very good english and was extremely helpful. The Villa Morgagni was located a bit farther away from the city center than I had hoped. It was definitely not walking distance to sites in Rome.
Smiling and friendly staff. Clean room and delicious breakfast The room was a bit small. But we only payed halfprice for the room - so that was acceptabel
The staff was great and we loved staying in the hotel. We got a room on the top floor with a patio overlooking rome. They recomended a perfect restaurant in the neighbourhood with typical roman food.
Quiet and comfortable, good metro access to City Would have appreciated the ability to get more water and coffee/tea at times other than breakfast
Very nice hotel and staff, breakfast was very varied and good, with all you need to start your day (ham, cheese, eggs, bacon, salami, fruits, honey, milk, cereals and many, many delicious pastries). The hotel is very clean, our room (for three people) was very large and confortable, the bed and furniture high class. The hotel is very near to the metro station Policlinico (1 minute), at two stations to Termini and four stations to Coloseum. Very good transport network. I am recomending this hotel for a holiday in Rome, you should feel excellent.
Very clean, nice decor, v good bathroom in a 3rd floor room you hear the breakfast table peparation on the roof terrace early in the morning
The hotel was faultless, and I particularly enjoyed the Spa Bath in the bedroom :-)
The staff was excellent!Only 50meters from metro station, only 2 stops from termini. Design was beautiful! the breakfast was a bit poor
The hotel and room were very comfortable. We felt that we would have preferred a hotel nearer to the centre.
The large room and the comfortable bed made the stay very nice, the spa bath was fantastic after a day of walking, being close to the metro (dirty as it was) really made getting into the city centre easy. The staff were really good and helpful. The room on the ground level was looking out onto the laundry area and there was some mildew on the roof in the bathroom, breakfast was 7am - 11am but if you wanted to get a hot breakfast then you had to be it there at 07:00 unknown to us, you could ask for freshly made coffee but like most things you only find this out on the last day.
I went to ROme in from February 14 to February 21 2015 to escape the frigid weather in NYC. The trip fully achieved it's goals and it was a very welcome departure from the winter routine in NYC. I booked the Royal Court Hotel off the Trip Advisor website which had good things to say about it. It was $ 79/ night for a double room with breakfast included ( rare in Europe) and free Wifi, close to the Termini station in the heart of Rome. In spite of being close to TErmini ( which is a rather colorful and chaotic area), it was on a quiet street a few blocks away. The hotel is old but well kept and recently remodeled in many sectors. The rooms are small but comfortable, very clean and very safe. The fixtures are vintage and the wall paper is silk. The floor is parquet in the bedroom and marble in the bathroom. The breakfast was good and substantial. The hotel staff is very very friendly and accommodating. They all speak English which is a pleasant surprise. Overall, the Royal Court was indeed a very pleasant surprise, especially given the price. Highly recommended for people like myself who want a clean and safe place to sleep, breakfast included for added comfort and want to spend the vacation outside of the hotel room. PS: the Wifi was very good quality in the room I was in ( 214) and i had a private balcony with stairs going down to the inner terrace garden. i would definitely return to this hotel in the future. :)
Quietness and location small rooms and inadequate housekeeping
Staff very helpful full marks, breakfast plenty and good. Room comfortable. Very central for train terminal and underground although underground very busy. no
Closesness to things of importance bed was not up to standard
Good location, 200 metres from Termini station. Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Lovely garden for tea time.
The rooms were clean and just as described. No surprises. Staff was friendly and the rate was exactly what we were told. Ice and coffee were brought to the room upon request as were pillows and additional towels. The room was surprisingly beautiful as was the bathroom, which could use a little clorox, but otherwise huge and lovely. They provide hand towels rather than washcloths. I would have preferred wash cloths.
The hotel has a new building which was about a block away from the main lobby, everything was brand new and super clean. Small rooms but this is typical for most hotels for the price you pay. At time of check out, the front desk presented us a signed invoice confirming we had ordered a bottle of water which was not the case. Mistakes do happen, perhaps the person who ordered it might have put the wrong room number (which was ours). We informes the guy that we did not order water and the signature was not ours and his reaction was filled with suspicion. Yes, it is just a bottle of water however he made us feel jncomfortable as if we were lying and was not apologetic and exptremely unfriendly.
I liked the cleanliness of both the room and bathroom the best, and the furniture was not old and run down. Next I liked the location near to the train station which was important for me. The room was a little tight, but still O.K. I also would have preferred a better restaurant in the hotel. Fortunately there are lots of restaurants in the area.
Nice large room with jacuzzi bath, good continental breakfast replenished reg by attentive staff. Staff very helpful and friendly, found train times, family friendly resteraunts etc for me.Great location, close to termini and metro. Bed was very hard.
excellent location, best value for money, recommended
The location is very good, five minutes walking from Tirmini station. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the hotel is in quite area. Good price for that area The room is very small. Could hardly walk in the room. But for this price and location, it is worth it.
Impeccably clean, light and airy. Nicely decorated interior with lovely patio garden. All staff friendly and helpful. Would have preferred it if hotel cold have been a little closer to town as didn't feel quite so safe walking around at night - but can't change location.
really liked the garden setting connecting to the room. 10 easy minutes walk to train station. helpful english speaking staff
the breakfast was good value, the location was reasonable and the staff once they got to know you were very helpful location was a bit out of the main centre and no coffee/tea making facilities in room
Thr hotel staff was helpfull. I enjoyed the breakfast. Misleading information about the closeness to Termini-it was a huge exaggeration.
Clean, bright, spacious room. Good air conditioning and TV. Breakfast was excellent. Excellent value. Internet was down the entire 3 days I was there, and staff was completely unapologetic or helpful about it. In general, front desk staff was terse, not very friendly, but that seems to be the norm. Waitress at dinner spoke no English, but was very nice and we got by.
Hotel staff were very helpfull and welcoming
we were very impressed with the hotel, the staff couldn't do enough for us, they were knowledgeable about Rome and gave good advice about getting around, places to eat etc. There were lots of extra touches e.g. sweets on the counter, fruit juices and coffee in Reception and tea and coffee available in the rooms. The room was of an excellent standard and we had clean linens every day. We would recommend this hotel highly. We had read that the area the hotel was in i.e. the University district was not always safe, we didn't find this the case at all in fact we enjoyed the upbeat feel.
Eventhough the breakfast room is small (sometimes some guests had to wait for max 5 minutes to get a table for breakfast), the breakfast-staffs (the ones who organized the breakfast) were really tried their best to do their duties during the breakfast time. I appreciate their work. Me and my family (four of us) we stayed in quadruple room. Unfortunately in the first day, the toillet amenities (towels, tissues etc) were prepared only for 2 people. And also in the next days there was only one small bottle of soap (which just enough for 1 people). About the internet facilities, unlike some hotels in Spain, it was not free of charge ( they should have mentioned it before in advance that we had to pay an additional charge in order to get the internet connection in the room).
It was clean and comfortable, the breakfast was ideal to start the day. No hot water before 6am.
We thought it was excellent for our trip to Rome.Very friendly and helpful staff.Could not be faulted.Thank you.
Good price, decent room Found some hair on the towel ...
Buffet Awfully noisy air conditioning. Very small room.
Was a really nice hotel for our family trip to Rome...the rooms were spacious and very clean. There was no noise to speak of during the night,as you are in a more residential area. It's a 10 minute walk to Termini station, just 4 stops from most of the major tourist points. The metro is very easy to use and isn't too crowded most of the time. We had a great stay here and loved every moment...parking was also easy and not too expensive but do reserve a space when you are booking the hotel, if possible. We had dinner in the restaurant a couple of times and it was really great, as was the selection at breakfast. Would stay here again anytime!
Very clean room, value for money, great breakfast slightly distant location
The room was clean and comfortable, the staff was kind and helpful, very good breakfast.
very good atmosphere, nice reception , smiling people
The hotel staff was friendly, co-operative and helpful. The check-in process was smooth. The breakfast was great. They let us keep our luggage at the hotel after check-out for 3 days (as we were visiting Padua and Venice before coming back and flying out of Rome) which was very considerate of the hotel staff. The air-conditioner only had heating on. So, the room used to get too hot for comfort. Keeping the AC off made the room a bit suffocative. Opening the windows made it too cold & noisy.
The staff were very helpful and friendly and accomodating. On our arrival, the staff gave us great information on the must see site and metro/bus routes. We used this outlined map for our complete stay. The location was great and our children stayed in the hostel beside the hotel, which worked out prefectly. We enjoyed using the roof top patio for breakfast as well as in the evening.
breakfast was ok. and baby cot was ok. Reception was on 5th floor, needed to leave the key everytime you left requiring you to go up and down repeatedly, the stairs had big steps then tiny steps tiring you out. electricity went out, heater didnt work, No internet, had to argue to check in because our new born didnt have a passport., elevator noise could be herd from room, why could hear the thunder through the sound proof windonws?? Didnt change the sheets from out two nights stay, in the description it says a block away.. thats a lie.
Clean, quiet, accommodating staff Better restaurant and store selection in neighborhood
The hotel is located very close to a subway station. Even if it's raining it takes less than 1 minute to get there. Next to the hotel we have a several bars, restaurants with fine food and service. The hotel's room fits my style. I can't recall
Great location - very helpful staff - almost like a conceirge desk!
Staf was verey helpfull, and kind. Location ,Breakfast , and cleanlines were good. So the money velue was good too. I will recomended this hotel to my friends.
The hotel is in a very good location for the main train station. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.
Good location. Good room equipment. The terrace where we can have breakfast should be cleaned more often.
It was a good enough hotel in Rome. close to the train terminal but you can get better hotels closer to the sites like Trevi and Spanish Steps for the same price. Breakfast was good. Room clean. Area around the hotel is not so nice and not too close to sights.
Cleanliness of the rooms, and easy access from the subway station It's abit further from the city centre, yet close enough to the termini station so you can take the metro or the bus.
The breakfast was excellent The wasn't any serious problem.
Breakfast is excellent!! I got quite small room and it did cost too much with the price I paid compared with the other hotel I stayed at the same area
Good: location, breakfast, clean, hotel staff. There are many nice trattories and pizzeries near hotel. We didn't like poor ligtning in our room. I don't understand the diifference beetween superior triple room and usual triple room.
Lose proximity to Termini. Very small room. Not very clean, very loud hotel
The beds are too hard.
Hotel room was neat and clean. Good internet access. The pillows were too thin.
Easy walk to hotel fron the airport (Rome CMP) shuttle bus drop off point at Termini Station. Friendly staff, pleasant clean room, good breakfast and a good choice of restaurants in the immediate area.
Staff mostly friendly, good breakfast, close to metro station (however not main station) Aircon noisy Broken toilet seat
Nice room with baclony. Had important immenities such as satellite TV, Tea-Cofffee facilities, real towels, refridgerator. These should be standard in alll 3 star properties. Perfect Location. Some staff are very rude and arrogant. The bathroom flooded every time we had a shower.
This is an excellent hotel. The decor is very attractive. The staff is very pleasant. The breakfast is one of the best we've ever had in Italy. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it highly. The location is very good and there are lots and lots of good restaurants in the area. The only complaint we would have is that the bed was pretty firm, but surprisingly not uncomfortable. We had a lovely room and it was quite large.
room size that could accommodate 4 people, breakfast front desk staff somewhat aloof and indifferent, not very friendly
Very clean. Easy walk from Roma Termini. Nice breakfast. Stairs made it awkward to enter the hotel from the street.
The hotel was nice and clean and good sized. We had a small balcony that was unexpected. The lobby bar was extremely reasonable and the staff was friendly and helpful. The location close to the subway was excellent. The neighborhood was kind of quiet - not many shops or restaurants right in the vicinity but it was quiet.
From the time we arrived (after a 24 hour travel day), the service was more than excellent, the staff raced out to get our bags, we were checked in within minutes, in our room and invited down for a relaxing cocktail. The hotel is very clean and inviting. Our room was quite large for European standards, including a four piece bathroom. The windows opened up to two quiet streets (we were on a corner). Happy hour is exactly that, happy. A nice supply of snacks, including special cured hams, pistachios, finger sandwiches and sweets. Beverages are extremely reasonable priced, $*euro for a half bottle of wine, $*euro for an alcohol drink. The breakfast room and buffet are PERFECT. Both mornings there was fresh juices, still/sparking waters, cereals and grains, pastries, fruit and vegetables (the fresh roma tomatoes - superb), cheeses, sliced cold meats, hot eggs, potatoes and hot breakfast meats. The staff understands service, offering a variety of coffees with steamed cream (North Americans should ask for cafe Americano if looking for 'regular coffee'). Cappuccino/Cafe Latte's are also included. The information provided for where to go to eat, sight-seeing, directions was very helpful. All staff are very fluent in English. Check-out was very efficient, in fact, I forgot to clear my bill in person. They politely advised me by email and was not an issue at all. Communication with the Hotel ahead of time (for reservation, directions, etc) was extremely well handled and prompt. For first time travelers to Rome, we would highly recommend this hotel to all family and friends - including you. We're very picky where we choose to spend our travel dollar, we would absolutely give it to Hotel Canada!
I stayed at the BW Canada, Rome for 10 nights from April 7-17, 2010 in a Deluxe Double. I found the following pluses: -Very reasonable, particularly compared to the Via Veneto hotels and others in similar areas. -Close, but not too close, to Termini and right next door to the blue-line C. Petronio Metro stop. -Several excellent small restaurants within a block or two. -Extremely clean and bright. Large rooms for a European hotel. -Staff was helpful almost to a fault. -Breakfast was incredible: everything from hard boiled eggs, bacon, etc. to pastries, yoghurt, fruit and great coffee...all included in my room price. -Comfortable lobby with great little bar that stays open until Midnight. The neighborhood is neither high nor particularly low end. I was out late by myself several nights and never felt in any danger. Lots of students who stay late at the sidewalk restaurants and can be very noisy, but my windows were at least double-panell and shut out virutually all noise. Would stay at the BW Canada agian any time. JFA
I stayed here twice on my trip to rome due to its proximity to rail transportation and comfort. It is definately not in the midst of the Roman sites; however, there are two metro stops within 3 blocks, one of them also being the main train station. The room was very comfortable and the staff was helpful. I would definately stay here again.
Beds were awful, no hot water-cofee in rooms, this was clearlt a 3-star hotel with a 4 star rating. The beds in Room 104 were awful!
The staff is excellent and very helpful. The room was very clean, the bed excellent. The location is convenient as to transportation or walking to the main historical sights
Not far from Termini, clean rooms Bad noise insulation
The location is perfect, just 3-5 mins walking distance from Roma Termini centeral station, easy access to all sighseeing places, the breakfast is good with extra cost of 10eur per person. Hotel room and bath room is sort of small, not that comfortable, but it is ok if you are just staying for one or two nights.,
Location was close to Termini Station and was a quick walk with our luggage. The bed was a taco. The mattress was basically curved up on both sides and my husband and i were sliding in to the middle. The room was tiny and dark, wifi was horrible in the room. We would not recommend this for a stay unless you are on a strict budget and just need a place to not so comfortably lay your head.
Friendly staff and good breakfast
the locaton was nice, 2 mins to a bus stop, 4 mins to metro, 10 mins walk to the termini station. stuff was freindly and helpful , the breakfast was very nice and various, i didnt expect it to be like this the noise from the street, there is a bar close to the hotel and they shout and speak loudly after midnight which disturbed me, the house keeping keeps shutting the doors strongly.at morning!
Hotel was close to the station and had a/c which was really important as it was really hot in Rome. No complaints, hotel was excellent value for money.
I was impressed - for such low price to get very nice, big and comfortable room. Hotel is well situated - 2 minutes walk from metro, 10 minutes walk from train station, very close to bus stop. Very good value for money! I would definitely recommend this hotel for any type travelers - young & old, family or solo! Breakfast could be better organized. Sometime when plates or cups are fineshed nobody from stuff comes to bring more. Scrammbled eggs were cold - it would be nice if they store it on the heated plate.. Also there are troubles with drinks - juce has chemical taste, milk looks like "water with some milk", there is no mineral water at all. The rest on the breakfast is ok.
Everything was great, near Rome Termini(metro, train and bus), near restaurantes, great breakfast, great roomm there is nothing bad to point.
good central location
There was a lot of choice for breakfast. Located close to Termini train station. Our 'double bed' was two singles pushed together.
Location is great to visit the town and is so close to Termini (and to underground station) that also business travellers should choose it for a few days staying. The entrance has a stair, which is difficult to climb with luggage.
I researched Rome hotels a lot before booking this one. With a 15yr old son and the days to be spent trekking around Rome we wanted a breakfast that was at least tolerable. Italian hotel breakfasts are not brilliant and we felt that a good start to the day would be a bonus. The breakfast here far surpassed other breakfasts we have had. The hotel was within easy reach of the centre, but well out of the noisy area. We walked easily from the bus and train terminal with luggage as well as every morning and evening after a day touring. The hotel rate was very reasonable. We ate at the nearer restaurant the first night and the next three nights at PretorianTaverna round the corner which had the best food we have tasted for quite a while. Breakfast was good for an Italian hotel, but a bit more fresh fruit would have been nice. Why is it that Italian hotels cannot serve a decent cup of coffeee for breakfast? The hotel is really only just for Bed and Breakfast. If you want other facilities go somewhere else. There is a small bar and sitting area, but they are not areas you would want to spend time in
This was a great value hotel and I would highly recommend it to anyone. It is probably inexpensive versus its true worth because it is a little far away from the sights, meaning it is 4 blocks the "wrong" direction from the Termini train station. Who cares?...Great price for a really nice place to stay and good restaurants right around the corner.
The breakfast is between 7-10am, we went 9:30 in the morning, there was nothing left. the staff was very rude to tell me she could not help. I booked a junior suite which is max for three people. when we arrived there, they charged us extra 25 Euro/night.
Cleanliness and friendliness of staff. Breakfast was great Phones didn't work, wifi was iffy
The hotel is new (or recently renewed), the rooms are clean and confortable. The breakfast is very poor and also the isolation between rooms and the reception. This means you will hear everything that happens... this could be improved.
it was quiet, convenient and the service was efficient.
breakfast in bed and satellite TV (when it gets cold and dark outside) a bit of noise from the street
New furniture. Very helpful staff. Very close to La Sapienza University. Very very noisy place: noise from the main street (4 lanes) and from the other rooms not well isolated. Too expansive for the services offered. Uncomfortable bed.
The room is clean, and the WiFi internet is free of charge. Still need 10 min. walk to the train station.
The rooms are neat and clean with good internet facilities. The Hotel however is located on the second floor and has only 6 rooms. Breakfast is also served inside the room between 7.30-9.30 which is nice. A negative point is that the rooms are not very soundproof. The walls are thin and you can easily hear everyone in the hallway and all the outside noise.
This cozy hotel is located in the quiet area near Roman University which is just 5-10min walking distance from Termini Station. It's convenient to get to the majority of place of interest by Bus 492 and Metro. Staff are very nice and they would wait for the last guest so don't be worry about the late check in. Breakfast is sent to the room. I recommend this hotel and would absolutely stay here if back to Rome again.
The hotel was well located from a major train terminal in Italy, which made it easier for luggage carriage/transport. The staff waited for our arrival (as it was a small Boutique hotel) and great value for money. The room was large (in comparison to some European hotel rooms). The bathroom especially the shower could have done with an upgrade. The hotel did not answer my query about bike storage at the hotel before we arrived. However this is a minor point as the bikes were not brought from Cinque Terre in Italy to Rome instead.
The cleanliness of the room and the balcony. The bed was very hard. The hotel was a little out of the way from the main attractions.
The Hotel is new and Clean! Location was pretty good and staff very helpful!!! Little noise...!!!
staff, hotel location, attaractive rooms
Rooms were clean. Breakfast was simple but for what we paid I think it was all together fair You have to turn your room key into the front desk every time you leave the hotel. Not really sure why. And also you had to ring a buzzer to get into the building when you came back. A few times we were waiting up to 5 minutes for someone to buzz us in. Not fun when you are getting back late at night.
Clean rooms. Very noisy. The door buzzer was very annoying letting guest into their floor, and having to buzz the hotel to get in was irritating.
Hospitality of the staff. No.
Clean, secure and silent room, comfortable bed, renewed bathroom, free working wifi, perfect location near Termini and polite and helpful staff. You can only smoke in a small backyard.
It served it's purpose. Close to train Station, Metro and Old Rome (ruins), but felt a bit far from everything else.
The hotel was very clean. The towels were bright white and changed every day. The location was very convenient to the train station and within walking distance to sites such as Colosseum, Spanish Steps, Forum. They responded immediately to my direct email regarding reservation and were friendly an helpful upo arrival. Price was exactly as stated in booking.
The hotel was a real surprise : such pretty and vuluminous rooms. There is an excellent price/quality proportion, especially when you know the hotel is qualified for 2 stars only. We warmly recommend !
The hotel was clean, the staff very friendly and helpful, and the hotel was very close to the train station. This is not a negative but keep in mind the hotel is truly just 2 stars. If you want more comfort or ammenities look elsewhere. If all you are looking for is a clean room that is moderately comfortable this would probably be an acceptable choice.
This hotel is a rare find - although the father of this family business was offered a 3 star rating , he decided to keep a 2 star rating to be able to offer more favourable rates. The result is a hard to find , under promise and over deliver establishment. We made our choice purely on the reviews on booking.com and were pleasantly surprised when our experience was even better than expected. Thank you booking.com for introducing us to the Domus. One has to remember the location is a busy one with a great but early street market on your door step.
there is nothing at all that we found wrong with this hotel
The staff are very friendly and helpful as they gave us good information and most can speak in english. The rooms are very clean and the hotel is very quite. In our room there wasn't a plug available through which we could charge our mobile phones and camera. The breakfast was good but we would have liked it better if an english breakfast is given together with what was provided.
Staff was friendly, the hotel was simple but charming especially the breakfast room. Free wifi in the room even if it was unavailable the last two days. Pretty affordable and even if it's a bit far from Termini station the district is nice with bars and restaurants. A little bit dark as most of the room open on the inner yard. House keeping enter the room without knocking the door.
breakfast is ok It was too noisy cos it's next to the street
access to other parts of the city A small facility like providing hot water kettle, tea/ coffee would make a big difference
Location was near the Termi Station which can take you to anywhere you want in rome and surrounding areas. This hotel is on the right side of the station, which is much better safety wise and cleaningness. Room is new, clear and nicely decorated. I was really pleased to stay there and the staff were very very friendly.
The location was really good. It had an elevator so we didn't have to carry the luggage. It was nice to use wireless in our room. Breakfast was poor; just a croissant and coffee at a cafe down on the street. The staff was not always at the front desk and left a phone number to call them when we had a request. The bathroom was small.
The room was very clean, excellent staff. Had a good time. For the price they should offer a much better breakfast.
The room surpassed my expectations. Everything is clean and new. Breakfast is in the downstairs cafe, which is great because you get fresh italian coffee and pastry in the morning. Location couldn't be better-less than 5 minutes walk to the train/subway station. The streets around are full with good, inexpensive restaurants.
