Virgin Atlantic uses terminal 3. Much faster clearing customs than terminal 5

Large number of passengers on the flight so arrive early to the airport and to the boarding gate

Eat at the lounge first so you are not stuck eating overcooked cheese ravioli

Make sure you arrive early. Sometimes, the traffic getting to LAX can be a total nightmare.

Bring snacks! Might also want to bring a seat cushion. Spend lots of time thinking about how happy you are that you got a cheap ticket!

Enjoy at The Club SFO lounge at Terminal 1, then walk only 10 minutes to Terminal A which is adjacent to the French Bee gate.

Great baggage policy in BA.. The worst part was experience at London Heathrow airport. Security was slow, too many people. Almost lost connecting flight even with 2 hours layover.
Verified travelerFlew with Aer LingusLAX-DUBJul 2024
Go to the airport early, LAX is the worst airport to fly out from. There is just so much traffic on the way to get there. We used the flyaway option in van nuys, ( buy your parking ticket in advance) costing us only 115 dollars for parking for over two weeks and it’s very secure. The buses go every 15 minutes from there directly to LAX. Best way to get to and from LAX. Check in was easy.

Use the self-check-in kiosk if you have a few check-in items. You can also ask for them to check your carry-on bags if you don't absolutely need to have them with you. Always be kind to the agents, they have stressful jobs and a little kindness goes a long way.

Pack light, a carry on is perfect for a week in Paris and you’ll save time by not waiting for your baggage. Also Orly airport is not as busy and has convenient transportation to all places

Take the evening flight so that you can sleep well on the plane, and be ready to go upon arrival in Zurich
LawrenceFlew with United AirlinesSFO-AMSJun 2024
Better stay up the night before tire yourself out before or you will have trouble sleeping on the plane, since you are taking off at 3pm local time but arriving around midnight origin time and morning at the destination.
Verified travelerFlew with ITA AirwaysSFO-FCOJul 2024
Pack light as they only allow one carry-on weighing 17 lbs or less. Economy seats are typical in that they are smaller with not much leg room and only tilt back to 120 degrees
MichaelFlew with CondorSFO-FRAJun 2024
Bring snacks, make sure you follow luggage guidelines,

Weigh bags. They will check. Check in with gate or desk. Sometimes the e ticket will not work for boarding.

Pack your own food if you have dietary restrictions and fly other airlines if possible

Try to find flights with layovers of two hours or more To prevent missing connecting flights.
AliFlew with French BeeLAX-ORYDec 2023
eat before your flight and download entertainment on your phone
DiamondFlew with DeltaLAX-AMSJan 2024
Put some media on your phone and iPad...the wifi worked on the way there but not the way home...its finicky (unless u pay for it). There aren't that many options for the player in front of you. Also bring your own headphones with the appropriate jack that can plug in, they may not have one for passengers for free. Food is good but they may run out of what you want.
HelenFlew with LufthansaLAX-FRADec 2023
Board the flight with everyone since they don’t seem to check and the boarding scanning is no longer a scan of your documents. You walk through the gate one person at a time, even the kiddos. Luggage bins were so full. Check it in and don’t forget air tags. That provided great comfort to know your luggage’s proximity.
ShaunaFlew with British AirwaysLAX-LHRDec 2023
I would suggest calling the airline to make sure that their TV screens work on the back of the seats, and if they don’t work that the entertainment option would work on your cell phones.
Verified travelerFlew with British AirwaysLAX-MADDec 2023
Measure the on -board bag using a medicine scale, becouse Iberia uses zero tolerance
