The seats did not help the comfort levels either, should have been able to recline a tad bid more. The carry-on-bag situation is getting out of control, you should crack down on people who bring too many bags or oversized bags that should be checked in instead."

I was willing to pay change fee for 1 layover instead of the 2 layovers on my original itinerary. They wanted to charge me $700 which was greater than my original ticket. So I flew on the original itinerary at started my travels @ 7am on Monday. Flight from Bogotá to Barranquilla w/Avianca airlines was great. In Barranquilla I had a 4 hr layover, checked in w/Copa agent and he said my bag was on plane. In Panama, there was a 1.5 hr layover so I assumed no issues getting my luggage to the correct connection. The flight from Panama was delayed by 40 mins w/no explanation. We just sat on plane. They only played one older movie, plane was old and they did 1 beverage service w/meal for a 5.5 hour flight. I finally arrived back to ORD @ 12:15 am Tuesday. I waited for my luggage in baggage claim for 35 mins. It doesn't arrive and I ask attendant, who brushes me off and says this is the claim for Copa. She disappears for 30-40 mins. I finally see her walking back into international baggage claim (over an hour has passed that I've been in baggage claim) and tell her my luggage did not arrive. She asks me for my claim ticket then proceeds to say "oh yes, I was informed your bag did not make it." I'm upset because it's 1:40am and she could have saved me an hour if she would have helped me when I first asked. I also am curious how an airline loses my bag twice."

Pros: "Total failure deception! I was denied access to the flight because of going into Peru they said I had to have a round-trip ticket and Copa would not let me on board. I was told this and after standing in line for over an hour waiting to check in at almost midnight in LAX. I spent hours on line I spent hours on the phone trying to recoup the situation. they wanted to charge me $325 to make changes plus other expenses of the airfare. I missed important connections in Peru. I am applying for a retirement visa there I should've been allowed to deal with immigration in Peru . However if it is the regulation of that airline that I'm not allowed in there without a round-trip ticket why did kayak sell it to me? Kayak cost me $539 and change not to mention a week and a half late getting to Peru! Customer service was just pretty much ridiculous I spent a lot of time on hold so somebody could go ask somebody who Ask somebody else a question. I could understand no refund however that was just downright not fair kayak and Copa airline basically screwed me over."

Cons: "This is the letter I wrote to the airline My sister in law and I rode your airline for the first time on July 2, 2016 to fly to Bogota from the United States. We first couldn't download our boarding passes on our phones so we were forced to wait for 1.5 hrs in line. (45 min of that which had no one behind the desk working and hundreds of people just standing in lines.) Finally after we checked in we went to the gate and we saw on our tickets that she and I were not sitting together even though I booked the flights for us together and chose our seats to be right next to each other months in advance. I went to the guy at the counter and he said that "it's a full flight, nothing they could do and you will just have to write a letter." My sister is diabetic and needs insulin medicine and to check her blood sugar and since we were unable to sit next to each other we were forced to go do this in the bathroom. Not only that, but to be on a 7 hr flight not sitting with each other when we were supposed to be is very unprofessional. The whole ordeal didn't bode well for your future repeat business of your passengers. Just very unhappy all around regarding using Copa Airlines."

When we finally reached the front an hour had gone by and the customer service rep then said we must have an exit flight from Guyana to get our boarding pass. This is the first we'd heard of this although we had researched visa requirements, etc for Guyana. We stepped out of line and quickly booked a flight on our phone, but when we tried to jump back in again the attendant made us wait in line again (a shorter one, but not smart considering the time crunch at that point. Finally we got to the front again and the attendant was very slow about entering our information. Then suddenly she calmly noted, "oh, it's too late to check you in, you can't make this flight." ... We were upset to say the least and after pestering her further about a reimbursement she said we would have to wait until she dealt with all the other customers (a long line of an hour or more) and that she couldn't put us on the next few flights because they were full. Finally she let us borrow her phone so that WE could call customer service and try to deal with it. They of course gave us the run around and we still don't have a reimbursement and will likely never book with Copa airlines again. Hopefully after a few more phone calls we can eventually get reimbursed. :("

Caution: flight to Montevideo was delayed 5 hrs because fog shut down Carrasco airport and we had to divert."

Cons: "I used kayak to book with airfare.com. I tried 5 times to cancel my flight. Finally they told me I could cancel it and gave me a cancellation quote. When it came time to confirm my cancellation after I had made other arrangements, the agent told me "you havent received the letter you need to confirm your cancellation because you havent confirmed the cancellation....but dont worry we already cancelled your flight....but you might want to call the airline to make sure its cancelled". Then he told me that if I wanted to work out the refund/penalty, I would have to speak with the exact same agent who gave me the original quote. I wasnt able to get into contact with that agent. I just got an e-mail saying "I hope you enjoyed your trip" from copa airlines which proves my flight was never cancelled like the agent from airfare.com told me. I travel frequently using all sorts of services. Ive never had such terrible customer service like I experienced with airfare.com."

Next, we were told hourly-wise to check-in at the gate to find out when our flight would leave. This was a hassle and caused me a lot of stress since I had to make new plans with a new itinerary for my arrival in Chile where I was supposed to meet my elderly parents. The staff kept telling me they didn't know when we'd leave asking me to check back four times before they were able to give me a definite time. Aweful experience that caused me a lot of stress and inconvenience."

Cons: "I arrived 3 hours early to my flight, which I had been notified that morning of a 2hr delay. Fortunately the woman who checked me in realized there was 1 seat available on the last flight that would get me to Lima in time for my connection flight (departing same time as my flight pre-delay). She personally got me to the front of the line, and ran with me just about to the gate, where I caught a shuttle to the plane. If she hadn't done so, and if I hadn't checked in so early, I would have been forced to stay in Lima 24hrs, despite buying a rightful seat and having reservations in Buenos Aires. It is appalling and unacceptable that y'all continue to overbook flights, causing incredible trouble, inconvenience and potential harm to your customers. For a service that costs so much, the only acceptable delays are weather and mechanically related. if it hadn't been for amazing staff immediately, I would've been furiously waiting in a city I didn't need or want to be in. Customer service will continue to grow your business or impede it negatively-- how y'all act is up to you. I appreciate how well I was taken care of by several kind individuals."

Other airlines have water and juice available I felt like I was bothering a crew member every time asked for a glass of water, when I could have just helped myself. Also, maybe have a few light snacks available. After a very light lunch, 8 and a half hours is a very long wait till breakfast!"

The flight is 11 hours. Be more generous with the water. I go to the galley to get a glass. The crew pours me a small cup when I need about liter for 11 hour flight. When I ask for a second glass of water the flight attendants look at me like they want to call the sky marshals. Here is an idea: leave bottles of water and cups out and let people self serve."
Cons: "We were over an hour late taking off from Punta Arenas, with no explanation, and then had to debark at Santiago into buses to be driven to the terminal, taking even more time. The luggage did not come off the plane in a very timely fashion, but the WORST part was trying to make a now rather tight connection to Miami. Totally unhelpful, uncaring staff with little English in the terminal. I had everything I needed for a boarding pass: flight number, flight time, even a gate number, but they effectively wasted all the time I had to make the next flight, with little explanation as to why. How inefficient and wasteful to then have to put me in a hotel, with meals and transfers, and to rebook me for another flight!"

Food was subpar for an AA flight, especially international. Entertainment system has many defects and problems, for example "search" is useless. Uninspiring and forgettable film choices as well. The knob to control air flow was broken which made it chilly. To finish as I started, a more engaged and pleasant crew could have made all the other things more palpable and acceptable. They were just too cold, like the temperature in the cabin and distant."

My wife, 2 year old son, and I was boarding at the gate and they couldn't scan my son's boarding pass. They quickly went over to the computer station and gave my son another pass. We went to our seats and found out someone else is in our 2year old seat. Apparently they gave the seat to someone else at the last second because up to the point when I printed our boarding passes at the kiosk, our seats were still together (and I paid $41/per seat extra to try to keep us together). The other customer was nice enough to switch with our son so were able to stay together at the last min so it goes to show AA priority and service."

NO BACKUP CAPTAINS or 1st OFFICERS AT LAX? Then miraculously during our 3rd hour waiting for a Captain they discovered the 1st Officer was going to time out. So, rather than KNOW this while searching for a Captain, they waited for 3 hours and then had to find a 1st Officer to fill in. Result 2.5 more hours of delay. Even the Flight crew was in disbelief on this one. I think we should all get reimbursed and triple miles for this snafu. Not weather or mechanical - just poorly managed time -- BY A MAJOR AIRLINE - INEXCUSABLE!"

Cons: "Fight was operated by American. Alaska forced to wait in line and see assistance, then inform that because the flight is operated by American, they won't be able to check me in. Had to walk to a different terminal of LAX wait in 2 more lines and by the time they were able to assist it was too late to check in. Missed the flight, have to rebook a 3 hour later departure, move the meeting and take a flight back 4 hours later that has a layover and adds about 2.5 hours more on the return leg. Not to mention having to pay for the new seat."

When we got to the gate he announced the crew had timed out and that we should take our things and get down to wait for more information. Once at the gate we were told they were trying to put a new crew together for us, including the pilot. While we waited they did provide good quality deli food for us. I appreciate the food but the 5 hour delay, I did not appreciate."
Pros: "Our 'lullaby flight' was not completely full, so that made things nice, but what really made our day after being tired from traveling and finally getting on this flight was the steward. I don't know his name, but he's most likely one of American Airline's most senior stewards. His grey hair did not stop him from being one of the most positive and funny people to lighten up a flight. Also why did I not receive advanced notification the flight was cancelled?"

There was nobody from Spirit at the gate giving information, I had to find someone in another gate who was absolutely not nice with customers and just said the flight was OK but did not provide any explanation for the cancellation e-mail. Additionally, when I talked to customer support, they offered no help and had no idea what was actually happening so they made up a lie instead. - As it turns out, our flight was delayed, multiple times... with only one notification of those delays posted - The pilot for our flight was missing, however, the pilots for the flight after were both at the gate - When the pilot arrived, the flight attendants were missing - Just before entering the runway, we stopped and were informed there was an issue with the engine - This issue resulted in an hour delay with no air circulation to cool the cabin, resulting in 85 degrees of discomfort, lasting for over an hour - When the flight finally took off, the flight attendants did not bother to check that everyone was buckled, or that carry on items were stowed away - If you need more reasons why not to fly Spirit, please read more reviews"
