  • What shopping options are there in Ahmedabad Airport?

If you are looking for local souvenirs Ahmedabad Airport is not the best of locations. For such items, you would be best off visiting a market in Ahmedabad or a neighboring city. However, the duty-free stores in the airport have plenty to offer in the way of beverages and food items, and there is also a kiosk selling local SIM cards.

  • What restaurant options are available in Ahmedabad Airport?

Ahmedabad is not the largest of airports and its dining options are limited, so it is recommended that travelers eat before they arrive at the airport. However, there are a variety of snack options available such as sweets and general airport snack foods. There is a canteen-style restaurant, but its hours are limited.

  • What hotels offer complimentary transport services to and from Ahmedabad Airport?

Ahmedabad is the former capital of Gujarat and remains one of the most populous cities in the state. If you need a stroller to get through the airport, request one from airport staff in the check-in area. Note that dining options are limited at AMD to vending machines, so it might be a good idea to pack some extra snacks or book a meal inflight. Families also might like the peace of mind knowing that urgent medical care can be found in the check-in area of both T1 and T2. Finally, baggage carts can be found in both T1 and T2, free of charge.

  • What amenities are there for business travelers who are traveling through Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (AMD)?

Although there isn’t a dedicated business center, travelers can use the VIP area in the international terminal (T2) to book a spot to hold a meeting, finished unfinished business or just relax between conference calls. AMD provides reserved parking slots, handicapped ramps and equipped bathrooms for passengers with special needs and limited mobility. In addition, you can also book a wheelchair located at the departure ramp of the airport. If you need additional guidance, contact either your airline 48h before flying or request help from one of the Airport Terminal Managers who will be able to secure help with one of the Customer Service Executives to provide assistance during your journey.

Your guide to booking Ahmedabad flights

From booking to airport arrival, find tips to help you plan your flight with more confidence.
  • For the best chance at a low fare to Ahmedabad, aim to book around 9 weeks before you fly. That window historically saves about 18% versus last-minute pricing based on KAYAK booking data over the last 12 months.
  • For flights to Ahmedabad, recent KAYAK data shows that stronger deals tend to land around $920 round-trip. If you see a fare below that threshold, it's a strong deal – book before the price climbs back up.
  • If you can choose when to go, time your trip to Ahmedabad around September. Round-trip fares historically average $977 that month – typically the cheapest month to travel based on the last 12 months.
  • Before you book:

    • Check the route's typical price range so you can spot a deal.
    • Confirm baggage fees and seat-selection costs on budget carriers.
    • Verify whether you need any travel documents beyond ID.
    • Pick a departure airport, since your nearest may not be the cheapest origin.
  • Shift your departure to evening to save up to $103 per round-trip. Evening flights to Ahmedabad average $1,124 compared to $1,227 for noon flights. See the time-of-day chart above for the full breakdown.
  • Looking to book a flight to Ahmedabad? If so, you’ll be flying into Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, also known as Ahmedabad Airport, as it is the main airport serving the cities of Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. Located just five miles north of Ahmedabad proper, the airport is the busiest in Gujarat.
  • For travelers looking to get into Ahmedabad proper from the airport, taxis, public buses, and shuttle services are your main means of getting into the city. The airport even provides fixed-rate taxis from the airport, making sure that tourists new to the area get fair treatment from the cabs. The shuttles from the airport stop at many locations so, while convenient, it is not the most direct travel option available. For that reason, taxis tend to be the most popular choice.
  • If your flight to Ahmedabad is just the start of your journey in Gujarat, consider looking into one of the various private intercity shuttle services available at the airport. For instance, OneWay.Cab provides taxi service from the airport to neighboring cities such as Surat, Vadodara, and Udaipur, among others.
  • Shoulders tight after your flight to Ahmedabad? A massage is just what you need to work out the kinks and knots of a long-haul flight. Fortunately for travelers, Ahmedabad Airport has massage chairs available post-security in both Terminals 1 and 2.
  • Want to bide your time at Ahmedabad Airport in the lap of luxury? Why not pay a visit to the Port Lounge? The Port Lounge is Ahmedabad Airport’s only lounge and it offers a variety of amenities including non-alcoholic beverages, complimentary magazines and newspapers, plus internet and TV.
  • Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (AMD) is unique as it is the 7th busiest airport in India and is a hub for GoAir which offers a student discount of 5%.
  • If you are tired after a long flight, the airport offers “Rest Rooms” which passengers pay for at the door. These rooms can be found in both the arrival and departure terminals close to the Duty-Free shops in departure and baggage claims in arrivals. There is also a spa called the O2 Spa which can be found on the 1st floor of T1.
  • Looking for a place to exchange your dollars into rupees at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (AMD)? Check out the currency exchange services which are located in T2 next to the baggage claim.
  • Some travelers might be interested to know that there are free mobile charging stations located throughout T1 and T2 near the departure Gates 10 and Gate 16.
  • Smokers will be pleased to know that there are areas to smoke both inside the Terminal 1 on the first floor and in Terminal 2 also on the first floor. There are designated areas outside the terminal at the curbside.

Everything was great except the boarding experience. After the check in, they "packed us" in a small area, very hot there. It would be nice to be aware of this, I'd wait on the outside area

Everything was great except the boarding experience. After the check in, they "packed us" in a small area, very hot there. It would be nice to be aware of this, I'd wait on the outside area

Chaos at the gate while boarding - no clear signs or announcements

I liked everything: the service, the food, the cleanness. I flew last year with Qatar Airways, so I can compare. Emirates did much better! Especially their meals and service.

Ove the A380 planes. Comfortable seats. Served great Indian food and Masala Chai!

Boarding, seats, entertainment and service were all great. The food was great except for the fact that there were too many sweet items.

Flight was pathetic, felt like a old plane was modified and brought in service. Didnt like the aircraft at all. Crew and services were good.but aircraft totally dissappointment.

Enough vegetarian food was not available on the flight for all vegetarian guests on the plane. Crew did not adequately handle this experience

Worst ever. No assistance and communication from Emirates crew. No visibility of when the flight is flying. Couldn’t understand if we can go to lounge to take rest. Emirates system at a certain point said flight is not operating and suggested to take the next flight and in few minutes it suddenly opened the gate for boarding. unsupportive and rude crew. Worst experience ever. Flight was delayed by 5 hours so need the compensation for that.

Emirates flights always nice. Service rendered by the staff is superb.I am always comfortable in Emirates flights.

Overall experience was bad , one does not expect after travelling for 14 hrs in Boing 777-300 ER to be pushed in to a craft with a extermly poor seating pitch, no room for hand baggage in the luggege bins and extermly poor service quality. This patch made my overall expereince mediocre and would definetly look for better choices when flying in or out of Delhi in future.

Qatar Airways has consistently established a standard in my mind that very few airlines manage to sustain, and once again, this Economy Class journey reaffirmed precisely why. As an avid globetrotter who travels extensively for work, I experience many airlines, service cultures, and interpretations of hospitality. What continues to distinguish Qatar Airways is not any single element, but the complete proposition: professionalism, courtesy, warmth, attentiveness, consistency, and a genuinely polished hospitality culture. There is a reassuring confidence that comes with boarding Qatar because, over many journeys, the airline has simply never underdelivered against the expectations it has established for me. This particular journey was especially memorable. I had recently been promoted to Gold tier with Qatar Airways Privilege Club, was travelling on my birthday, and was flying into India on Indian Independence Day. Collectively, that made this considerably more than another flight. The crew made the personal element truly exceptional. Cabin Supervisor Hershel and Cabin Crew Ali deserve particular recognition. Their hospitality went well beyond procedural service; they took the initiative to acknowledge my birthday and, using the resources available onboard, thoughtfully assembled a small presentation with KitKat chocolates and dessert to wish me. It was simple, spontaneous, genuine, and immensely memorable. For someone who spends a considerable part of life travelling, these are precisely the moments that transcend service delivery and become lasting memories. That is where Qatar continues to excel: exceptionally well trained, composed, aligned, and polished crew who can deliver consistency without appearing mechanical. The human warmth remains evident, and individual colleagues repeatedly find ways to distinguish themselves. One small opportunity would have made the occasion even more complete. As we were travelling from Doha to India on 15 August, still within Indian Independence Day, a subtle acknowledgement of India celebrating its 80th Independence Day, perhaps simply wishing the Indian guests onboard on this proud occasion, would have been a thoughtful and culturally resonant gesture. It certainly does not detract from an excellent journey, but would have added another meaningful dimension to an already memorable flight. The only substantive disappointment was that my checked luggage did not complete the journey with me from Seattle (SEA), via Doha (DOH), to Kolkata (CCU), having been delayed in Doha. A baggage exception report is already on file with the local airport team in Kolkata. Given the confidence Qatar Airways has earned from me over the years, I remain optimistic that they will once again live up to that standard, work their magic, and reunite me with my luggage within the next 24 hours. Overall, another exceptional experience and one I will genuinely cherish. Hershel and Ali, thank you for making my birthday in the skies so memorable. Way to go, Qatar Airways. Please continue investing in and developing your cabin professionals to this calibre. When service excellence is combined with authentic human connection, an ordinary journey becomes an experience a passenger remembers long after landing.

Looks like a local flight. Food was horrible. No entertainment system.

Economy travel is really hard with no room to move especially when the person sitting beside you is an XL or XXL size person who if moving could hit your face

I purchased Qatar airways after seeing ads about its service. To my surprise Qatar is marketing gimmick and horrible airlines which I don’t recommend to anyone Flight was dirty including flight from Miami to Doha And Doha airport restrooms are dirty On top of this they use this pathetic cheap indigo From Doha to Hyderabad which I will never fly Also they lost one of my baggage in Indigo and still waiting to receive it. I will never travel Qatar and will never recommend

Aircraft was spacious compared to American Airlines, food was great, entertainment was much better with a wide variety of options, and the crew was very polite.

The overall flight experience between Doha and Kolkata was satisfactory. The staff onboard were notably engaged, responsive, and enthusiastic, providing a level of service that stood out, especially when compared to the less attentive crew on the earlier leg from Heathrow to Doha. Their eagerness to assist made the journey more pleasant. Additionally, the time spent at the Silver Lounge in Doha contributed positively to the experience. The lounge offered a comfortable and relaxing environment, with adequate amenities and attentive staff. Overall, both the flight and the lounge experience in Doha met expectations, making for a smooth and satisfactory travel experience.

Being a platinum member, no attention given. No towel or tissue provided.

No towels or tissue and chocolate and mint provided before arrival

They made us deliberate waste time by holding our passports and boarding passes making us miss the flight

I had never seen any cabin crews behaving like that. They are not at all professionally fit for this job

Everything was good except for the seating arrangements. We could not get seats to be seated together with my wife. We’re unfortunately.

Absolutely horrible aircraft with hard open ended wires hanging below the seats which were hurting. No phone charging outlets for a combined 15 hours long haul. Absolutely garbage service!

It would be great if the flight attendants could inform people travelling with small children that at take off and landing the children should drink liquid or chew/swallow something so their ears don’t hurt. Also, Emirates serves the food to the children first. Really good idea. Best of all would be to put all children in the same area.

Luggage never made it it’s been 2 days and no proper update

Outdated business class on this aircraft, no flat bed, and even minimal recline. Couldn’t sleep at all. Laggy and outdated entertainment system. Food sub standard.

Did not expect no entetainment, food was ok. No alcohol on a. International flight

Boarding on time. Limited food and drinks options . Few Crew was rude and unconcerned. Entertainment system is old and barely any new contents.

Process for on line checking needs a lot of improvement. Very frustrating.

We were traveling first class. Checkin counter lady and her manager, both were in bad mood and did not treat us well about checking in the handbag. The gate agent took care of it right away. I travel Turkish twice a year in first class. No one has ever refused to check in the hand bag. Not sure, why this agent and her manager refused. Everything else was excellent.

35 minutes before the flight was about to land on Mumbai, I wanted to use the restroom. The flight attendant rudely shouted that I cannot use. I guess Turkish Airlines doesn't care about the customers, once they get the money.

The first segment from Atlanta to Abu Dhabi was fantastic, but we got downgraded to a different aircraft from Abu Dhabi to Delhi. We were supposed to be on a flatbed business class when we booked it but just about one week before travel, we were changed to A321 Neo, which just has old-fashioned business class seats that recline but don’t go flat. No TV either. While I fully understand that sometimes these changes have to be made for operational reasons, but I asked for some credit or compensation for that and I did not get any anywhere with that

I bought a full price ticket for business class on kayak and my seat selection was not Included, I had to pay more and WiFi for example was not Included in my seat. My travel companion who bought his ticket for the same business class price had these features included in his ticket therefore I am not happy with my purchase via kayak.

They lost the baggage and said it was deleted from the system. I had baggage tag so was able to file the complaint but there was no PIR number and update so far

Good service. But on flight to Kochi no entertainment except in app. And no working outlets to charge phone.

Was so disappointing. Business class with no TV, uncomfortable seats. Had much higher expectations.

This flight was a dreamliner so I think the space was ok for the legs, but the option for food was again limited and the crew was same.

Boarding was efficient, had to check in cabin luggage. Seats were narrow, food was more in quantity, received cabin luggage on the luggage belt which was fine.

Needs better seat for business class. My seat was falling apart. Also no WiFi on that flight

Sits are very uncomfortable Don’t feel like to travel in Etihad. It was 1st time we traveled in Etihad now we decided we don’t want to travel in Etihad.

It feels like the seat did not have any cushion just plywood. The seats are so compact that I could not even move at all and I am slim. Just imagine someone else. Singapore Air and Emirates are far far better than this. Do not even travel for free. For a 12 hour flight sitting on a plywood is horrible experience and on top of that the person at checking counter at NY was worst and rude. Plus they charge arms and leg for everything. I think they would also start charging for belts and oxygen also soon. First and last time flying with Ethiad.

Unnecessary delays & Gate changes, so much inconvenience after 15-16 hours flight

Why should I rate entertainment if I’ve not used? You don’t have NA - Not Applicable option.

I had a camera bag that exceeded the 10kg allowance for hand luggage. I am 67 years old and have been travelling will my cameras and lenses all over the world and have not paid once for the excess weight. Also, even if I wanted to check in the bag, I can’t due to lithium batteries and delicate equipment. Air India should review their policies. Or is it just a cash grab. I had to pay additional 7000 rupees.

The boarding was not in sequence. All were invited altogether. I was not secured the meal I had asked for.

Airline and airport management is tooo much poor airlines staff and managers not well trained they have too much attitude flight is delayed they did not announce all is poor

Boarding pass was not printed at the first port & connecting flight didn’t let me go and have wait 10 hours to get next flight.. the reason we pay more money for shorter hold time and get to destination early! Very poor service 😕😕

Flight seats were broken . TV screens don't work. Remote don't work. It was a horrible experience. Felt like so risky flight. Plus my bags were lost and when we recovered the bags after 2 days items were missing inside

It was my elderly parents travel with my uncle and aunt who were over 80 yrs So i have boarded all these four passenger and the lady could not give us all four seats together even though i have check in them all at once. Then the wheel chair service was one of its worse kind. The wheel chair service guys left my parents once they reach to security check. And same issued of wheel chair happened at the Delhi airport, No one is there to help them for the wheel chair assistance. It was ridiculous and have to beg to the staff there for the assistance. Its not because of Air India I have booked there ticket but it was because of most of the passengers are Indian and in case they need help some one can help and understand them. It is our Compulsion. Otherwise we would choose different path.

I love air India plane was new and very comfortable seats

Entertainment system was not available in Delhi-Ahmedabad flight. The flight was delayed for take off by 30 mins
