  • Which airlines should I consider for flights to Pereira?

Your guide to booking Pereira flights

From booking to airport arrival, find tips to help you plan your flight with more confidence.
  • For the best chance at a low fare to Pereira, aim to book around 7 weeks before you fly. That window historically saves about 7% versus last-minute pricing based on KAYAK booking data over the last 12 months.
  • For flights to Pereira, recent KAYAK data shows that stronger deals tend to land around $437 round-trip. If you see a fare below that threshold, it's a strong deal – book before the price climbs back up.
  • If you can choose when to go, time your trip to Pereira around February. Round-trip fares historically average $490 that month – typically the cheapest month to travel based on the last 12 months.
  • Before you book:

    • Check the route's typical price range so you can spot a deal.
    • Confirm baggage fees and seat-selection costs on budget carriers.
    • Verify whether you need any travel documents beyond ID.
    • Pick a departure airport, since your nearest may not be the cheapest origin.
  • Shift your departure to noon to save up to $106 per round-trip. Noon flights to Pereira average $547 compared to $653 for evening flights. See the time-of-day chart above for the full breakdown.
  • Bag allowances vary by airline, fare type, cabin class and route. On flights to Pereira, some airlines may include bags at no extra cost. For example, Avianca includes a cabin bag and a checked bag in Economy Class. Always check the fare details before booking, since bag policies can change by ticket type.
  • Those that are feeling hungry after a long day of traveling can always go to one of the airport’s dining options. Cafe Oma, Bon Marche, and La Locura all sell a variety of hot meals and to-go items, depending on what you’re in the mood for.
  • Known for being one of the major airports in Colombia, Matecaña International Airport (PEI) serves a variety of cities in the country. For example, when you travel to towns like Armenia, Cartago, Manizales, Medellín, Cali, and Bogotá, you may first arrive at this transport hub.
  • While it will depend on the exact location you will be departing from, you may be able to have a direct flight to Matecaña International Airport. A few different companies will commonly offer nonstop voyages, and these include American Airlines and British Airways.
  • If you would like to have a quiet moment to yourself after a long day of traveling, head to the prayer room that is in the main terminal of Matecaña International Airport. This room is open to all travelers, no matter their denomination.
  • To pick up some last-minute travel essentials, head to one of the many stores in Matecaña International Airport, such as Dante’s Shop or Velez. These shops sell a variety of local products, electronic accessories, and snacks, so you should be able to find what you need.
  • We highly recommend Pereira Matecana International Airport (PEI) over other airports if you're traveling to Colombia's Coffee Region, known for its beautiful landscapes, world-class coffee, and Quindío wax palm. La Nubia Airport (MZL) and El Edén International Airport (AXM) in nearby cities – Manizales and Armenia – are much smaller, with limited flight options. Additionally, there are frequent weather-related closures at La Nubia/MZL Airport.
  • If you have a layover at Pereira Airport (PEI), look for the Avianca Sala VIP lounge on the second level of the airside adjacent to Gate 2. A day pass costs approximately 114,000 COP (25 USD) at the entrance for travelers without Priority Pass.

Terrible - the flight was delayed taking off after boarding. Then the flight circled lga before landing. Significant delay

The actual flight was smooth and we arrived earlier than expected which was great. The flight attendants gave unclear instructions and were rude. They seemed overwhelmed or flustered for the flight. Inflight service was delayed and unsure why.

Everything went smooth from check in, thru TSA, then boarding, and a smooth flight to ATL.

There were weather issues in the area apparently; however, that was not obvious from what we saw outside of LaGuardia. We were delayed leaving (which I understand); however, once we were on the plane we didn't leave for a long time. It may have been two hours?? - all I know is that we sat there for a long time with no information as to why we were not taking off. Finally, after 45 minutes to an hour (maybe?), the pilot gave us an update that no planes were able to go in the our flight path direction (or something like that) due to weather. There was nothing additional added. What does this mean? Why is this? What are the options? When will you give us another update? There were no updates for maybe another 30-45 minutes. There was no explanation as to why we couldn't be rerouted to avoid the weather. We had no information at all. We just sat on the plane (for about 2 hours) with very limited information. All I would have wanted is an explanation as to what was going on. Tell me there is bad weather coming our way. Tell me they are working to reroute us around it (which is what they did). Tell me SOMETHING.

My 4pm flight did not leave until about 10pm. I did not enjoy this experience.

I had an extensive delay on my previous flight and we had another delay due to the crew not being there. We were scheduled to have a late arrival but due to the delay it was even longer.

Had one of the worst travel experiences I've ever had. 1.5-hour delay turned into being held on the tarmac and our pilots timing out. Was supposed to take off at 4pm and didn't take off until 10:30pm.

Delayed 7 hours Crew and employees were nice Extra long flight but at least we got in

Delta charge a $30,oo USDollar for a suitcase in the baggage hold In my reservation I have one carrying and one on hold

It is not a good experience with Copa Airlines: flight delay, luggage delay, etc.

We where skipped for this flight will not head to Panama until tonight..

Orderly boarding, priority for platinum members, courtesy drinks from business class even when we were seating in economy.

There should be a warning regarding the quality of the aircraft on the website as we reserve the tickets. There was no TV or any type of screen onboard. The wifi they offer is good for nothing. Traveling 9 hours straight with kids and no type of entetainment was horrible. I wish I had been informed prior so I could buy a ticket with another airline. The food was a joke too. A very tiny portion per passenger. They also charged $100 per checked bag. With United I used to pay $60. So, fair to say that I wont be flying Copa anymore. Their aircraft was super old, outdated, no entertainment, with nearly no onboard food.

Very strict carry on rules meant most of the plane had to gate check their luggage. As is often the case had things that were broken because of this, but I appreciated not being charged to gate check. Otherwise good flight and great crew once on the plane

I liked the meatloaf the chicken was awful but the plane was on time and got there and the staff was nice.

Boarding was quick & efficient; they gave boarding groups due priority; staff & air crew were very cordial and helpful, pleasant flight.

Very happy with my flight. I would definitely recommend it.

The flight was delayed twice and I could not speak with anyone at the airport about checking in. The phone number to Copa - the customer service agents were polite. They are just limited at helping because they are not at the airport

Great! The airline is very spacious and the crow was good.

4 hour delay. So our flight schedule mass up. Your worker told me you should rebooking myself. I was very angry. Latam Airline always get the money more through any way. But They have no concern passenger.

Honestly first time flying with delta and it was pretty good. All the process very smooth and crew was always nice and attentive.

Deleted flight made me loose my connection flight now stuck in Atlanta for a day

Apart of Sky miles delta. And they go everywhere in Brazil

Really bad experience – delayed for 6 hours without any notice, no food or drinks provided, and stuck in the horrible Cartagena airport.

On time. At least they offer a drink and a small snack. Plane was clean

Airline lost my luggage and after 20 days it has not been returned nor refunded any money.

It was confusing because I got a notification that my gate was changed when in reality it wasn’t

Awful, horrible customer service. Flight got delayed and had to spend y the night in Bogota as a result. Very poor

Hostile flight attendants. Second flight with Jose so much better. Arrived 1/2 hour early. Thanks.

Airplane is not very clean, food quality and taste was not good. Lufthansa used to be good but nowadays went down. Overall experience is just okay, wouldn't fly again, prefer Turkish airlines.

I missed the flight due to maintenance issues. This is the second flight I’ve missed in four days because United allows such little time between layovers. Very disappointing

My return flight to Honolulu (UA 1170) was on a 777-200. I’d forgotten the weird seating arrangement in first-class (2-2-2); I was in 1B, so I faced the passenger in 1C. Unfortunately, there was a problem with the flight computer, so we left LA an hour late (6:05pm). The meal I chose was Korean BBQ Glazed short rib. It was served with a nice salad and fried rice. This meal was better than breakfast on the outgoing leg. All in all, a decent flying experience. Ratings: 777: 3.75, food: 3.5, service: 5 (out of 5).

Food was not Good Nuts came very wet & not tasting Good Main course I asked for Steak they got me Chicken because they don’t have more !!!!

It cancelled and we were unable to catch our connecting international flights.

Flight delayed and then cancelled (due to mechanical issues + weather). Poor communication. No one there to help with rebooking and accommodations for the night we had to stay in Newark. Our luggage was taken off the original flight and apparently left on the tarmac in the rain. Items were soaking rain. The following day, the flight was also delayed due to mechanical issues. The second year in a row that I had to sleep in an airport flying from Tokyo to Newark due to mechanical issues compounded by bad weather. Partly bad luck and partly just poor service.

Terrible service - they don’t want to be there and bad food. Entertainment system in economy from the 2000s

I did bought anything… I don’t understand how this book appears to me . Ridiculous

Leaving at 7 when scheduled to leave at 4:20 - you tell me. Understood there was a ground stop. Then having to "reboot" the plane because of a lighting strike, also understood. But basically the flight was a "clusterf#$%".

No drink service but there was no N/A as an option to choose. Seats were extremely tight. I am under 5.5 and I bumped my knees have no idea how taller people could manage.

Seating was tight. Seats don't recline. Initial flight was cancelled. Lost two days of vacation.

It was delayed and I lost my connection flight to Cali and I missed my Mom's funeral

I actually upgraded to the medium level of seats from basic and even doing that it may have been physically the most uncomfortable flight I have ever had. They packed everyone like is a train to death camp. It was a red eye so I hoped to get some sleep but it was physically impossible to find a comfortable way to rest. I met other folks on the same flight and they said the same thing. It was an utterly miserable flight and if I have any other options I will never fly with them again

Deplaning was a mess, I sat in business (seats are horrible) and the front door had a problem so we had to deplane from the rear exit. The stairs were not tall enough to reach so there was a large step down from the plane to the top of the stairs.

Pros: we leave and arrive on time Cons: the most uncomfortable seats ever. You cant recline at all your seats. No entertainment No TVs flight attendants didn't provide even a glass of water. You have to go to back of the airplane and ask for one. I am Colombian and I remember seeing the flight attendants very neat, elegants which is or was a staple of Avianca.it was one with tennis shoes, no male up, the hair was messy... that was really odd.

Last seat of Bussines Class it does recline but passenger seating behind kept pushing since they did not have space once my seat was reclined

I like the crew they're very friendly. I don't like. on five hour flight they not offered snacks. Any drink. Not even coffee

This low cost airline looks and fells more like a local bus. In a 6 hour flight not being able to recline a seat is torture. The only thing available with no charge is a glass of water provided by, mostly, rude staff. Our luggage didn’t arrive

The seats were uncomfortable and barely reclined at all. Very little leg room despite being business class. The crew was friendly and the food was good. Had to use my own phone for in-flight entertainment.

50% of flights book with Avanca have issues either reschedualed cancelled and their actions further supports their poorly managed airline do not use them only if there is no other options
