The service and car were wonderful. The only criticism is the insurance policies. My personal insurance will cover everything but loss of use. In order to get that coverage I needed to buy the most expensive coverage; that is, the full coverage. I think that this tactic for getting customers to buy full coverage is awful.Reviewed Nov 21 2021

"Compact" doesn't or perhaps shouldn't mean sacrificing expenses on specific car items. For example, when my sister pulled down the passenger visor to fix herself, there was NO MIRROR! Crust!! Although this car got me where it needed me to get to--thank you!--it just seemed like a REALLY laughable car (on your part) that would WANT to force me to upgrade. Kudos (and smart on your part) to you if you intended for that! I had to choose this last minute car. That I got a card, I was happy. The price, however, was a heavy pill I HAD to swallow.Reviewed Oct 26 2021

Pros:I arrived at the car rental center at the DFW airport. Many vendors sold out of cars upon walk up, including Alamo. Got online and checked your website. Found out Alamo had cars. Made reservation. Went to desk and asked why they did not offer any earlier and why the price had jumped significantly. Gauging at its best! I needed a car immediately. After a 30 min wait while the attendant went into the back room to “talk to his boss” he came back with a over priced economy car. Paid and left.Reviewed Jun 3 2021

Alamo engages in shady business tacticsPros:Car was clean and in good condition.Cons:Alamo refused to honor the terms of the contract that we initially established with them and for which they accepted payment (i.e. Fraud) because the reservation primary driver was not the person that paid the prepaid amount (despite that person being present, with ID and credit card used, at the time of pickup). They proceeded to establish a new reservation at a higher rate, refusing to honor the original rate (i.e. Bait & Switch) of the reservation. It took a significant amount of time with multiple customer service agents at both check-in and check-out to get them to abide by the original terms of the agreement. Very questionable business practices, I have to wonder how many other people who were not willing to go through the hassle of dealing with their byzantine customer service system have been overcharged because of this.Reviewed Jun 23 2017
